MTB gaming - Riders Republic on PS5 - total newbie action
I bought a PS5 last winter and have played about with a few games like GT7, Red Dead Redemption 2, Medieval, Train Sim 4, Rally2.0 and a few old school arcade games, but this one takes the cake!
Riders Republic. It's full on! Choose from Downhill MTB, Freeride, BMX, jet pack wings, skate, Skiing + a few more.
I've been enjoying the downhill MTB bike just exploring all the trails. It's tough trying to keep my line, let alone try all the tricks but the open world scenery looks amazing.
Anyway, it's a good way to shoot the breeze while my broken toe heels up which is taking for fkn Eva! Still can't wear shoes!
Screen captures downloaded from the PS app. No idea how this will look on the big screen....🤷🏽♂️

Don't Let Gravel Riding Ruin Your Single-track Skills

Hey everyone! 👋 I’ve noticed over time how my singletrack skills seem to fade when I spend too much time on gravel / bike path rides. If you like to mix up gravel with singletrack, maybe you've experienced this too? It's definitely not as technical when you're out on the gravel and bike path rides I think we can all agree. The longer rides are good for fitness and endurance, but after a while, ...

So these days, you need a 'gravel bike' to go 'gravel riding' don't you? :-P Yeah right! Why would I want a fragile carbon framed, curly-bared, aero bike with rigid forks, skinny wheels and no electric motor, specifically for riding 'gravel'? I'd have to shave my legs and wear lycra! And whats with the term 'gravel bike' anyway? These trendsetters ride them on the road half the time anyway! I d...

I cant even find any places these days. To many clowns that destroy. Need a gov that rides
I'd be all for paying rego for bikes IF it meant they'd give us respect & they'd STFU. But they'd just move on to the next bs argument....
I remember doing a particularly muddy Polaris event yonks ago at the ironically named Sunny Corner. So much mud & pissed down for the whole weekend. I still recall this guy doing the ride in thongs & whilst we all laughed at him, they were the perfect footwear for the conditions. As long as he didn't come off.
😂 walking train 👍
@@sausagesandwichSA eh?
The foam compresses but density remains the same.
Location perhaps?
That always bugged me at Glenelg... the walking path is off limits to bikes, but the walkers insist on taking up the space on the one path that bikes are supposed to use... Ever been on a ride out to Port Adelaide and Pirate Life Brewery...? You can either come down from Semaphore if you are doing a coastal track / Military Rd journey, or up from Bowden and through Woodville and through that route along the train line.
@@davidking3699 yep it's a bit strange. I have done the ride from the city to Port Adelaide. It's pretty good for the most part. I like the mural on the factory door near Kilkenny.

Don't feel too bad for the moto riders. Yet to meet a curtious moto rider out on the trails ....
@@madrapperdave I met one once. An adult with his 11 year old daughter on the back of his 250. They were meandering slowly around in there. She had aspegers syndrome and all the gear on too. We had a good chat. He was riding very cautiously. Chatted with some teenagers in there once too. But they were more brappy though. They were just kids having noisy fun. I also came across a bunch of adults with bikes and I a 4x4 and trailer stopped and they were OK, even though they looked intimidating with all their 'power ranger' gear on. But yeah, it's the destruction they cause to the area and they get noise complaints from the nearby residents who back onto the park. Moto just isn't compatible with the urban environment.

Good ride mate, obviously know those roads well but look good from a pushy perspective. Pretty sure Lode road was closed more to do with fourbies trashing the place over winter and the ongoing cost to rate payers, rumours of fences being destroyed also but don't know.

can you recharge ebike battery at a charging station or have to always recharge the battery at home?
@@haha-eg8fj if you're thinking of an electric vehicle recharge station, then no. eBike battery's don't employ a universal charger or connector, so you would need to use the same type of charger as the manufacturers specifications.
@@Adlemtbadv Thanks for the info. I want to get an ebike this week and am wondering if I should get VelectriX Cruiser Electric Hybrid Bike or the VelectriX Newtown Electric Commuter Bike. The latter is $200 cheaper. I am a noobie so I have no idea what exactly are the differences between the two. @@Numberofbillion yeah it's a top spot. I've done most of the trails there but this ride was meant to be a bigger loop ride. Can't fit all the trails in. As far as walkers or runners go on the trails, they do themselves no favours not being able to hear oncoming riders from behind on a downhill trail. Just dumb in my books. @@sausagesandwichSA yeah it is. Gives the best angle for speed and immersion I find.
Hey mate couple of question you think the hub drive or the mid drive is better for fitness....also what video editing software do you use..Thanks in advance mate enjoying your videos
@@djandycornish Most mid drive motors will make you work harder to keep the speed up, where as most hub drives will just push you along as long as your legs turning, even without pushing hard. Mid drives generally reward you with more power the harder you push. So your fitness will benefit more with a mid drive. Not sure how the cheaper mid drives go though. If they use a cadence sensor only, like the hub drive, they may act similarly. My Bosch mid drive uses a torque sensor as well, so it understands the power my legs put in, and puts out more power, the more I put in. Up to a point, then it's up to your own leg power, ie over 25kmh and Max motor torque. As far as video software goes, I think I used Filmora for this one, but these days I use Vegas Pro as it's the same layout as Movie Studio Platinum which I used previously, but as they updated that to a whole different design, I didn't want to use that. So I bought Vegas Pro. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching BTW 😉👍

I ride at maximum pressure on my fs ebike So maybe the Tannus will be useless to me if will compress so much. My Schwalbe Smart Sam has protection on the rolling side which is not enough for a hard thorn and are the best all around ebike tyres that i know who has sides knobs for good grip on corners. I don't have a good anti punctures solution. The tubeless solution is to messy for me. Do you have other proposal for maximum high pressure ebike ?
@@devourermastikator I'm running Smart Sam on my other bike with Slime in the tubes at around 40 to 50 psi. The slime worked for one puncture but I needed to patch up another. Best solution is tubeless which has performed the best out of everything so far on 2 out of 3 wheel sets.
Agree on the Garmin! Been using a Fenix 6 Solar for quite a bit of time. Fantastic watch, does everything you need and gives you about 2 weeks of battery. Yeah sure expensive, but worth it. @@DingleBerryMTB haha yeah fukn! My Samsung watch updated last week and has been working much better since. But my next watch will be something better.
Hello, any update here after 2 years more ? Did you still use them?
@@mihaieviaoldbk1842 they haven't returned to the original thickness even though they are hanging up in the shed.
For the price of those inserts, I am surprised that they don't come with a built in PVC tire liner on the outer perimeter.
@@godfellas483 that would be better but it would probably alter the ride feel too much for what the product aims for. It wouldn't bother me though.
I pump my tire right up past 60psi. It compressed to 5mm but still offers good protection from thorns and rim strikes. I use tpu tubes, don't deflate and have a small dose of slime

Every thing was paid. After 2 hours i called my son lets go pick up the bike . Upon arriving, (too many people at the shop Sunday afternoon) my son said we better get this MTB dad . Then I asked to test ride.. OOOOhhhh my gooodnesss.. very big difference sitting, riding and speed just blew me away. i tried uphill and motor kicks in straight.
