Hammond on social security disability for a long time how do I find out about what was set aside you're my illness
I collect Pension and social security. It is will affect my settlement worker compensation ?😮
I am collecting worker compensation 1 and half year already. When my worker compensation stop I want to apply for my pension. Is my worker pay settlement still good if I retire and apply for pension. I worked there 34 years and I am 64.
You can still settle your WC even if you retire and are on a pension.
@ thank you very much for your advice.

Medicare makes you wait 2 years after you start ssdi, what if you settle or make a stipulation and award well before medicare kicks in?
I had no choice for spinal fusion, My T12 exploded
I have a surgery scheduled for L4 L5 fusion. while working a drunk driver hit me. Work Comp said they're not sure if they want to pay for it because I had some stenosis, or degeneration, prior to the work related injury. i am still going to have the surgery whether they cover it or not, because I can't live with constant pain every day
Hi yall! I’m 1 week post ALIF. Injury was due to a slip and fall off a fire engine at work. Career firefighter. I’m just wondering what are the odds of going back to full duty. With the pain and limitations I’ve had for the last ( I’ve been out since injury) I’m not sure I will be able to
i think you'll be fine in a year
If my L4L5 have been fused could my L5S1 still be fused ? My back Pri is near the top of the buttocks pain is that area and runs down the back of my leg to the calf foot tingles (Always the Right side)
Fusions should be for structural issues
That guy might want to take off the lens cap....
I work for goodyear commercial tire i injured my back i can't sit for too long or stand for too long the doctor send me back to work in my condition of alot of pain in my lower back , doctor refuse to put me out of work and company refuse to compensation me.
Good morning. I don't recognize the user name, but if you are an actual client of ours I would be happy to speak with you personally about how your case is valued. It does us no good to sell you short and it is not something we would do.
Yes of course, I'd be happy to. I do feel like there was a lack of communication through the case and a lot of the answer's and legal timelines I had to find on my own. The paralegal handling my case was very professional but couldn't always provide those and I got more updates by looking at the public information available on the commissions website. I appreciate the work thus far and hope the outcome will be better. I spoke with Andrew roden this morning. I would be more then happy to talk though.
Currently being represented by this firm. I think I'm going to end up with the lowest settlement I could have considering my case and reports and second opinions from other lawyers and even other known cases with similar everything.
My lawyer told me to settle before if i wait after i would get less money
I'm getting ready to have surgery on the 18th September a week and a half away 4 and 5 having them infused together tell me they were going in through my stomach and then flip me over and go in through my back I will have two surgeons I have pain down my left leg and I can't hardly walk my surgeon told me the pain in my leg will be gone I'm very scared I will be out of work for 6 weeks I come back I'm going to work a couple of months and then I'm going to retire I'm 64 I will be working 3 hours a day after I retire that's my plan anyway
Thank You Jim !
I'm going to call as soon as possible, thanks.
Very well explained. I have a hearing before a worker’s compensation judge today and I don’t have legal representation. Thank you very much!!
I had L4-S1 Discectomy with fusion and instrumentation in Dec 1993. Rods, screws, bone graft fusion. I was age 33. It was a workers comp case. Back then, when I had my follow up meeting, I was classified as 60% permanently partially disabled. At that time, comp did not give monetary settlements for back related injuries but gave coverage for life for any future medical attention for it. I was told by my surgeon that I can expect to have Adjacent Segment Disorder as a result. The areas around the surgical area take the strain, especially above and below. I saw the surgeon at least once a year. My problem was from below at the Sacroiliac joints. From ‘93 till 2015, I worked full time doing HVACR. I retired from that in 2015. I also had a part time job driving a charter bus and had to give that up in 2021 after 36 years. The pain from the SI joints got too severe. I had a Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted to address the nerve damage pain in my lumbar area and down my legs. I had Si Joint fusion on both side Dec 2023. I will be having Cluneal nerve block injection next month. My point here is, I’ve had issues as I got older. I’m now 64. I’ve been covered by comp for those years. And will continue to be, though I may need to fight for it sometimes. Now, only a few months ago, I got a letter asking if I would consider a buy out of my case, basically taking money and close the case, giving up any future medical payments from comp. They offered me…………..$5200.00. Obviously I turned that offer down. So nowadays, they offer payouts after a few years instead of lifetime coverage. That payout has to be solely for future medical issues pertaining to the comp case. Who knows if it will cover 30, 40 years or more. It could cost millions….
Also, I am now considered 100% permanently disabled.
$5200 buyout? What a joke. Stay strong.
I was recommended L3-L4 spinal fusion after a work injury and was told workers compensation would cover the procedure and some lost wages but to expect after the surgery and healing that the insurance company IME will examine me and if they decide that I have reached MMI that all compensation would be stopped and no further treatment will be covered even if I am unable to return to my job and then it would be my responsibility to either find a job I can perform or apply for social security disability that will always be denied the first time and absolutely no type of settlement is allowed in Massachusetts only a small one time payment for loss of function depending on impairment and wages at the time of injury and if I was disabled for over a year and approved I could expect around $800.00/month with Medicare to cover any future medical expenses. I am in extreme pain with back spasms and sciatic pain it has been a horrible experience.
what's the difference between getting stitches and/or hurt back

@@LoriAguilera-wc9bm. You can get better. First you have to visualize and believe it will. Next you take action. Only you can make the change. There is good all around us. So much so that we fail to see it.
Don’t do it under any circumstance comes from someone who had to have 5 more surgeries after an now is totally disabled an living on ssdi for 1k month the only ones you make out are the lawyers an the insurance companies
Thats something...i had the rods and screws put in my back and less than 30 days later just getting out of bed i felt a sharp pain in my back running down my leg. Went in for a followup and the dr. Said a screw broke. So i had another surgery. He replaced the broken screw with the same size screw. A month later i was feeling pain again and went for another followup. This time he told me the screw was comming out of my spine and i needed another surgery. This time he put a bigger screw in and ever since i havent been able to stand up straight or walk upright. Im in so much pain i can hardly stand it. I have spoken to an attourney who sat on my case for a year and did nothing except to tell me i dont have a case. What am i supposed to do?
Definitely call another attorney it sounds like severe malpractice
@@user-cu9bn1pd2b I called another attorney who told me I didn't have a case because screws break all the time. I'm so discouraged.
@@user-cu9bn1pd2b hey TH-cam....fuck you.
@@user-cu9bn1pd2b apparently I can't reply. TH-cam is censoring me for some reason. I did try another attorney and was told screws break all the time... No case.
I reached MMI and ive been out of work since May 15, 2024 over a month now.. I'm on PPD and never received and weekly checks... can i get unemployment or foodstamps? I have no income
I had this surgery with excellent results. Resumed a normal lifestyle.
How much for a total replacement.
I had a L5/S1 fusion November 2005. I lived with nerve pain before and since! 25 years of 24/7 nerve pain! I currently have bulges at L4 and L3. I workout to this day with pain. I take care of my own home just like before I just do it all while suffering.
Excellent explanation! Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge!!
THYANK YOU FOR THE INFO

I had a four level fusion, zero pain. Have some restriction on bending to the side, but rather have that than extreme pain I was dealing with prior.
fusion surgery helps a bunch
I just settled my case after rotator cuff surgery… took 15 months

If the Dr says i can lift 25 lbs at work, can i lift 25 lbs in my yard? I was prepared to go back to work but my employer wouldn't accommodate it. I build fiber optic cables. I have to move cable 800lbs up to over 1000 lbs. My employer won't even give me the weight listed in my job description. Im 52 years old. I'm 5'4". The doctor told me i have degenerative back disease. He says if I don't slow down, it will turn into arthritis. Can i plant tomatoes in my yard as long as I'm not lifting over 25 lbs.
Hello! Please advise if there is a State Agency in Connecticut one can go to for workers compensation coverage. I am looking to help a contractor who has been declined by most private workers comp carriers. Thank you in advance
