Micro-Crochet Gift Satchel and Gift Box with Two Hearts and Silver Plated Fairy Charm. With Valentine’s day coming up in a couple of months, I wanted to add something to my JLC-Brand one of a kind art collection for you love birds out there who want that “Something Special” to give to that someone whom you can’t live without. I was sitting here the other day, thinking to myself, what am I gonna do with all this thread sitting on my desk, that I can’t use in the sewing machine? and then I looked to my left and said, what am I gonna do with all those bags that I want to use for a valentine’s project? Then I thought to myself, I really want to make something nice with my new “Big Shot Metal Disc Cutter”; how am I gonna incorporate that into a nice project using the bags and thread? My mind started to turn and twist, my hubby thought I was in a state of stare and told me to go to bed….lol I told him, “I gotta think about this for a while. I am starting a new project”. He just shook his head at me and went back to playing his guitar serenading me with “Ain’t She Sweet” So, I reached for my new thermos, and I took a sip of my “Ginger-Lemon Coffee with Oatmilk” and I turned my newest TV series I was watching and already hooked on from Netflix onto my computer and than rested my head into my Video Game Chair and watched the documentary on Vikings……lol….. A part of my ancestry. When I awoke the next morning, I then spent the next 3 days doing something called Micro-Crochet. Using a crochet hook the size of a needle and magnifying glasses so I could see the stitches. I was amazed at how tiny those stitches were. I created an intricate frill around the opening of the sack with the threads and then placed over 30 creamy pearl red beads on the satin drawstring section to make a crown. The bag is 3x4 inches and has probably over 50 various sizes of hearts all over the clear see through materials. And when you look through the material the hearts are white on the inside, It gives quite a nice optical illusion. I then added a charm of a fairy on a heart that’s on a heart. A fairy with two hearts represents love, affection, pleasure, or happiness. It can also be used to convey fondness and warmth in a relationship. The Wooden heart; that bears the same threads as the frill on the satchel; sits on a white cloud of cotton with a silver lining trim in the shape of the second heart. Then there are dangles that hang from the bottom that have 10 more heart beads and 10 scarlet red clear beads. You could cut the charm from the bag if you wanted to, so that you can use it elsewhere like as a keychain, ornament or even a broach if you add a safety pin, but I think it makes the satchel look much better with, than without. I put a rose sticker in the package to close the drawstring from being opened once the box I made is put inside until it goes to the person intended. Oops…. I forgot to tell you about the box. This box is big enough to hold a special, ring, earrings, bracelet, watch, broach, hairpiece, necklace, ear buds, credit card, gift card; or anything you can think of that is small and needs to be given to someone special as a gift; including the charm on the outside of the giftbag. The reason you would want to give this handmade giftbag, is because it is something your loved one is gonna appreciate in it’s delicate style and probably want to keep. Maybe they can use it in the future practically by protecting a handkerchief, or maybe some potpourri inside the bag to freshen up one of their drawers. I picked through all my cardstock and found a sparkle page that was the same color of the wooden heart that I used with the sterling silver fairy charm. I created the box with my new Big Shot disc cutter and gave it an open plastic see through window on top. I also put a bouquet of flowers on the top and laid some thick foam inside. Look at the picture, they tell the real story, for those of you that need more visual than Etsy allows, I will have a video on my other media sites that I frequent and my blogger.
