Blaze orange would sure make it safer....
Watching novice field tests the handlers were warned that they wanted to see sit to shot, no command/whistle. I'm sure I heard the stop whistle on both flushes, is there a reason it's allowed here? I'm guessing it's to do with there being actual guns?

Listen to the comments about the shooting from David before you give your opinion. You weren’t there and don’t know the ground nor what the judges wanted, dead birds no runners nor ground disturbed. It’s a championship with 50 plus dogs over 3 days, fancy shooting and fancy handling are not what is required at the championship, just ask any championship judges or handlers what they want at the championship..

Having shot over several novice trials and being a shooting man myself. The one thing I struggle with is how close the birds are dispatched. Never ever on a game shoot would anyone shoot a bird that close. I stopped trial shooting when I learnt how corrupt it actually was with certain people seemingly blind to obvious discrepancies. Any how the dog worked fantastically well and is a credit to you sir. Just a question did anybody ever work out if our recently departed queen have a springer or a cocker in her kennels. If you know you know. Ian openshaw has some lovely dogs.😮
As you weren’t at the event nor know the ground you should listen to what David said about the shooting. At the championship the judges want dead birds, no fancy shooting nor runners disturbing game in front. A novice stake is 16 dogs not 50 plus to be tested over 3 days, runners are not required at such events, ask any judge who has judged a spaniel championship or a handler who’s run in any championship.
@@duncanstirling6953 basically answered my point. It’s not a TRIAL ITS PICKING UP DEAD birds. Been there seen it done it and as for the judges. Who are they actually rooting for. Corrupt beyond belief. But to the novice you wouldn’t notice such things.
