Roberto Mancini slips trying to control the ball - Inter vs Frosinone, 22/11/15
I love how Pulisic never gets credit. Watch that goal! Liverpool want to sign him but right now he is clearly the best player on Milan so he should stay. And yes im a huge Reijnders fan. Just watch how Pulisic single handedly brought 75,000 people to react. Changed the game. He's looking like the best player in serie A.
Nima from the Italian Football podcast, amazing! Great show, love the backdrop!
Italy are probably at least 10 years behind in terms of development. After France didn’t qualify for both 1990 and 1994 world cups they rebuilt the foundations and we all know what happened after that. Italy have done nothing.
ITALIAN SOCCER IS NOT DEAD AND WILL NEVER DIE, WE JUST NEED TO GET RID OFF UNHINGED BUFFONI COWARD LIKE HIM, PERIOD.
This is so painful now that the future kind of doesn't matter but hard to make a case for Spalletti continuing - his decisions were shocking even for a casual football fan and the players seems to completely so against him that almost refused to play for their country
Hey Italia! Go back to your roots. Get il Cholo Simeone. Comprende?
Growing up in Italy we all played and wanted to play for the national team. Today 3 Italians have a podcast about Italys national team . This is why Italians ain’t producing players . Italians kids ain’t thinking the same
Pelle was fantastic for Italy and a great player, his hold up play was amazing, and he was great for Italy for a bit, please praise Pelle, many defenders couldn't cope with him? Pelle had quality too though and they played as a team!
Orsolini..
No Verratti Locatelli Insigne No polatino No berandeschi No beradi No pessina No ramogaoli
World Cup qualifying doesn’t start until March 2025 so Spalletti has 6 nations league games between September & November to get a team together to go in to qualifying next year with confidence!
On the topic of fitness, I'm certain I read something along the lines of Spalletti conducting a 'pre-season' style physical session at the start of the training camp. This would be madness if true because the players had only just finished their, grueling, season. I would understand the panels choice to stick with the coach had I seen some signs of progress, some ideas, some progress. I saw nothing. There are question marks surrounding everything - squad selection, training, tactics, tempo, mentality, lineups, substitutions, playing players out of position, standing by the subpar Di Lorenzo and Cristante, lack of intelligent back-up plans, pitch-side body language, press conference nonsense and gaslighting .... I could go on.
The first thing I would do is make us hard to beat again. We have to start with a consistent base, system and lineup and not make too many wholesale changes, just subtle tweaks. I would go with a 352, something along the lines of Gigi; Calafiori, Bastoni, Buongiourno; Udogie, Locatelli, Tonali, Barella, Bellanova (attack??) This would give us a solid block, add more energy and technical quality in the midfield and some much needed pace on the flanks. The attack remains a huge problem, we could go for some less fashionable names who will show a lot more fight, and start to introduce Camarda and Liberali to the squad. I mean if Spain and other sides have no problems giving sublime young talent a go, then why shouldn't we?
Its the worst italian Team i have ever seen
Why would you put Zaccagni in the second half And leave Scamacca on who has not scored at all
Spaghetti needs to be sacked NOW
They only selected Spaghetti because he won a Scudetto in seria A But how many of the Napoli players are italian
Conte was a better coach
He dropped Delmarco who was very productive for El Kabbab Why would you drop a player who played all 3 games for a first timer
They need to sack Spaghetti
I'd like to be on this Podcast? Part Sicilian, been watching Italy since WC 94. Massive fan of Football Italia too. UK 😊
Locatelli was missed, way better option than Cristante. Gnonto has been a huge miss. His passing is excellent and he is direct and fast, dribbles at players. Poor squad choices. Gnonto would have got us up the field. Gnonto has played for Italy a few times and was excellent. Come on now!
Gnonto doesn’t do anything. Barely plays for a second division English side.
@@InfiniteDroidArmiesagree
Not sure why people are now saying Jorginho should have played in the place of Fagioli. This was Fagioli's first game and he was one of our better players. Jorginho was awful in the first 3 games and is finished as a player.
Fagioli was Poor
@@LUCATALKSBALL Not as poor as Jorginho or Barella who are both much more experienced than Fagioli.
Easily one of the worst Italy performances I've EVER seen.. No fight, limp attack, mistakes galore, no patterns of play.. What a joke of a cup defence. Tonali was HUGELY missed and Spalleti should've called up Varatti & Gnonto. Even Ballotelli would've been more effective than Scamaca. Hate him or love him, he has a physical presence and the type of confidence he has was severely lacking with the strikers we did have.
It's utterly delusional to think Spaletti needs another year. He's had a year and did nothing, didn't have a clear vision, played everyone out of position. Chose players that had poor seasons for roma and Napoli. Changed every game. Spaletti has shown you who is and hes a giy who cant make food decisions. He cost Napoli the title race in his first seasons worh stupid subs. Lost to milan 3 times in a month exactly the same way . We must not continue to reward people who fail and fail miserably .
The FIGC and Seria A need to structurally change how youth talent is developed and promoted. Baggio's report over 14 years ago has been IGNORED by FIGC!
The problems run deeper within the entire Calcio structure within Italy. I keep saying this on the website.
What needs to be done then....because this Italy is unbearable
@@giovannidebiase6850 Ciao Giovanni. 1. Gravina, along with the FIGC board, need to find and analyze the content within the report that beloved R. Baggio prepared over 14 years ago when he was hired as a consultant to the FIGC. Baggio produced his 200 page report following the group stage elimination from the 2010 World Cup. Giancarlo Abete, the FIGC president at the time, and the board simply dismissed it. Baggio resigned his role as a consultant 1 month later.
@@giovannidebiase6850 2. In that report, Baggio cited an immediate need to reconstruct youth development-think about Spain's youth academy development structure. So, Italian youth academy players need to be competing with senior Seria A clubs and given playing opportunities. 3. FIGC needs to better coordinate with Seria A governance to INVEST in Seria A youth club development-Roma and Juventus and Atalanta come to mind but more is needed. 4. Seria A clubs need to become less tactical and emphasize greater technique training, physicality, and the fitness regimes need to model those of Germany and Spain.
@@giovannidebiase6850 5. Seria A clubs need greater control over stadia reconstruction. Members of Local municipal councils need to understand that reconstruction of stadia is, in FACT, economic investment and NOT cultural appropriation.
@@giovannidebiase6850 6. The FIGC may actually need to consult with foreign management-specifically Spanish expertise on youth development. 7. BAck to the beginning-starting with Baggio's report produced over 14 years ago. Hope to hear back.
This is already 10 months lost, it’s not going anywhere with Spalletti. Conte’s Euro2016 was on a par with this side but he managed that team in a much more effective manner. There isn’t the time in international football to do what Spametti imagined he was doing. Club managers have week after week of consistent training which isn’t available to international coaches so an imagined dream team from disparate players is impossible. Spain did what they did in 2010 because it was more or less the entire Barcelona side playing the way barca played. Allegri’s anti-football would be more effective than anything spalletti has done here.
Genuinely belive that Spalletti needs to go. Shameful performances throughout the tournament. Constant, confused formation changes, sticking with Di Lorenzo, negative passing. Terrible.
The qualifiers for the WC don’t start till next yr but the process has changed which could makes things more complicated.
Italy has been in decline since 2006. 9 tournaments and we were poor in 7 ( 2 of which we didn’t qualify for)
Worst Italy I have ever seen. Players aren’t good enough with a manager who is pig headed and unable to instil a identity.
you need a coach change now
Also why no more comments on the Liveblog? Has made FI much less interesting
Roma players to blame for a terrible performance. Cristante was walking the whole game, Mancini worse than useless and El Sharaway should have seen red. Spalletti also pathetic, how is he dropping Zaccagni after the Croatia game. Negative football and no quality. Also makes me laugh every everyone who slated Immobile, look what the alternative is.
They do not have the talent to get any further in this tournament. Another embarrassing performance
this is actually embarrassing and think Spaletti needs to go..
Italy need quick wingers, it was really slow. A player like Udogie would have helped a lot on the left
Very very underrated player
Easily one of the best, hard-nosed midfielders Italy has ever had.
It seems that the quality of Italy's players is gradually decreasing since the 90s/2000s. Still, we managed to go to euro 12 final and win euro 20 where we played so well as a team. I don't have much hope for this tournament so will take it each game at the time. I hope new talent is coming up , lack of what I would call world class players is a bit of a concern, especially up front. Forza Italia!!!
if iItaly wins vs Switzerland, the road ahead are quite similar than their last Euro, with England in quarter, possibly Autria or NL in semi, then Spain in finals :)
No optimism. They are going to get smoked next round. Too inexperienced. The only players worth their salt is Donnarunna and Barella. The rest are mediocre and mistake prone. Chiesa has not shown his talent yet.
Smoked by Switzerland? Unlikely.
Grazie FI been following you for years, good to watch you on the tube
They don't have the experience to go very far this tournament. If they qualify for the quarters, I'll consider that a success. They'll go no further than that.
It was frustrating to watch. Spain plays aggressively and simply would not give Italy chances to move the ball. They had 16 fouls for a reason. Italy seemed slow and unable to adjust. I do think some of the roster decisions were wrong. Italy should be able to win their last game and advance, but not sure if they can do anything beyond that.
High press … needed rested players with better pace … likely a one off when you change out players and change formation … love the press, no one has mentioned gasperini’s high press against liverpool this year in Europa … that is a great comparison and no one would say liverpool would not be able to cope if they changed their approach … forza italia sempre
Bastoni is not great on the ball. He will get better but he doesn't have the qualities of past defenders. If he was a good leader our defence would of been better.
Italian football is alot slower and forgiving. Spanish football is more demanding and the players reflect that.
Italy wasn't able to compete with Spain due to the press. Nothing to do with desire or want.
One important point. This Italy squad is very inexperienced. Only the Czechs have less caps.
