Great idea
Great idea
They are comforting on a cold night
Great information. Is it hard? Looks like it would hurt if it fell on you
They are rock hard
This is awesome. Great way to keep him safe
I made a simple straight frame with a shelf like extension on the bottom out of PVC. My goal wasn't to do with increased capacity or ergonomics. I did it to make the pack stand up in a semi cab or car. In a truck it's bungeed to the jump seat or on the floor between seats. And it works in the sleeper too. I have cook kit and rain gear, snacks, C.D.s, all in one place. I can even use it for a C.B. radio bag. I like your container idea for the pouches, but what brand of wipes? Because iveynever seen them in a bucket before!
Great hack! I bought a swagman, and $150 was a hard pill to swallow. O plus $50 for a poncho. lol
Put it on!
What size is rhe zipper for the head 12" or so??
Such an astute companion.
"Promosm"
I like the slide closures on the pockets. I had the same version. Way better than whatever those newer ones are suppose to do. Only problem is once they start to come apart they’re toast.
Boulion cubes are so good, but paraffin does have carcinogens/the smoke and burn off is no good a beeswax candle will be healthier to burn and use as an open flame for cooking
Very good to know. Thanks for this information
I feel this on a deep level. Stay strong my dude
Youre meant to grab it with a rag/cloth..... Also if it gets hot that epoxy is gunna soften
Hasn't yet
Brilliant
That was adorable lol
I hope you have a great time! 😊 Stay warm! 🏕️
Stay warm and safe buddy love the outdoors my friend.
looks painful
Only painful if you make it
@@irmuggle thats right all pain is in the brain
Thanks. Very innovative!
great idea
Glad you think so!
Great idea, I want some. Some contact information would be handy.
You can get them from amazon from a company called long life Food depot
Great idea. I have also used cardboard milk cartons. It does not light as easily as your idea, but it is a great extender.
Great idea. I have my ALICE pack on a MOLLE frame, but it still has the same problem, I will be looking into a way to do this on my frame. I love the ALICE pack, but the MOLLE frame gives a lot more attachment points and is a lot more comfortable. Thanks for the ideas. When heating PVC, I use a heat gun, it is quick and effective. Works even better if you put the PVC on an aluminum foil background.
You can also cut your frame about 1 inch. Your alice will stand right away
Great idea, thanks for sharing.
I like this hack and I am wondering if it will work with a diy frame made from pvc also besides the standard steel tube slice frames?
I don't know how your tubing ends at the bottom. But all you have to do is make you some dole rods. And put it inside the PVC. Then you can screw these lagbbolts into it, make it like that.
hey brotha , new sub for ya here , i am a u.s. marine vet here 93' to 97' active , only have email here , would love to talk more , love talking stuff , thanks n talk soon > tom !

@@irmuggle NO PROBS bro, email me , would love to talk more , thanks > tom !
Saving this! I like this tent, but I'm kinda tired with how fiddley it is to get set up in. This just might be the solution.
what kind of metal buckles did you use? I have the same issue with plastic fastex.
They look like mini cobra buckles
@@MunitionsDudTester thanks
Hmmmmm I have 2 surplus ALICE packs and the hardware is metal ( I think the shoulder QR is plastic maybe)
@@maxpinson5002 yeah. mine were the metal slides and I replaced with fastex buckles. i like the idea of newer metal buckles (type he showed) instead of the new plastic but was much easier to get into with fastex but not as durable as the old gear. I have a few myself and I have been playing with one of them to see what works and what doesn't for me.
They're just the mini tactical belt buckles. I have the same one larger for my belts And I kept looking on amazon and I found smaller ones they're great
Zippers aren't new. Google ranger Rick's poncho liner conversion kit. I do like the snaps idea.
Ok, this is pretty amazing! 😮
Lmfao at your drill skills
It's all about getting it done
Thinking of the same thing except Velcro
Just make sure you put the hookside on the part you take off and leave the soft loop side on whatever you rub up against your body
These are so much better than August and farms are already wise I don't have to make 4 servings in each pack these come individually rap so you can have one meal or six meals
Pretty ingenious! Nice one
Thank you! Cheers!
That's a cool hack. I thought it always had to be a regular iron.
Great boot. Cheers my friend
Thanks, you too!
Great hammock set up mate. Happy New Year
Thanks, you too!
I saw a 3 in1 blanket ,cushion, poncho with a zip like this I think they used a similar idea I use mine with a poncho over it to make sure it's water right great idea though
Finally a video answering how to use it with a poncho
I need a pair .great vid
Thanks 👍
They had him at Sportsman's Guide
How cold are the made for , cause thats a lot of isolation
They were initially made during the Cold War so they expected us to go to Germany and Siberia and stuff like that but they also were issued to the people in Alaska so I'm definitely not going to have any problem here in Tennessee
Supposedly -60 sorry about the late reply don't have too many people actually watching my videos
Hey great lookin socks.
you would think those would be slotted already?
Yeah that would make sense but you know you're dealing with the military application so it's just basically made for a lightweight sleeping bag when you tie it to the poncho liner then fold it in half and slide in
the woobie looks thin, is it warm?
All military surplus woobies seem to thin. Let’s just say if it’s snowing, your going to be cold
Helikon Tex liner 65,00 $ or Mil-Tec liner 24.00 $ + thick woolen military blanket on top (inside the house) and not cold at all,if you also put on the waterproof poncho (3 layers) nothing gets through....you sew the woolen blanket (poncho) yourself...they are made for "summer" camping... by themselves they are not warm, you have to "tease" them...
Yes
Well it depends on how you sleep me basically they can go down about 40゚ and then that's about it I was 1st introduced to them when I was in the military so I've been using it for a long time only bad thing about nylon is with anything it slides all over the place so if you want it as a top quilt it's gonna be on the ground before you're done sleeping overnight
A two bedroomer. 😊
I wonder how it would work out to do this with Velcro instead of a zipper and use low temp. seam tape to attach it to the Poncho Liner. Zippers seem to fail just when you need them the most.
Velcro is nice and everything but then you always have to worry about the hook side scratching your neck
Nice one sir, but why didn't you demonstrate yourself wearing it? 🙈
I forgot😮
