My wife is a travel nurse, I travel with her. She was working in Beckley for a while and I drove over to Coalwood one day just to say I’d been there - big fan of the October Sky movie. Love the curvy roads over that way! Your rig sounds great! I’d be driving a truck if I hadn’t lost my left eye.

Very cool Video I hauled coal to the power plant in South west Pennsylvania, I’m retired now after 45 years I still keep my commercial license I help my Sister part time in spring and summer nursery and supply yard. I drove Tri axle. Merry Christmas and happy new year. Piece of advice, stop smoking. That’s why I retired health issues. 😊

Sorry for my spelling should have been buckets not buckers. I used to run in WV, Pa, OH, occasionally Va.

I miss my coal hauling days back in the late 80's early 90's as there was a certain camaraderie amongst the drivers that does not exist today, if a driver had a flat tire as we always carried a spare another driver would stop to help change it and we did not have the Big Hammers that are pulling buckers today just an R Model Mack or Mack Superliner. Superliner was my favorite.

My brother ran coal from Princess Beverly down to the Marmet Docks til he died in 95. I did a short stint pulling out of Red Warrior to the Hatfield docks in Marmet in 94. Went back to running outlaw west coast. Hated the same scenery every day.
