Here's the actual surviving bit of the episode animated! The colour grade in particular is WIP here. It definitely needs some work so it flows properly from shot to shot.

Obviously this isn't finished, but as I work on the animation for this scene I did enjoy the Guardian of the Solar System apparently becoming so pleased with himself he defies the law of gravity. It'll be a while before there are any significant new updates - these scenes have needed a lot of new assets to be made, and will take a long time to animate and render. Stick with me!

Not specifically. I just tend to trust font websites unless my browser flashes up a warning.

You want Grotesque One Three for Hartnell and Eurostile Condensed for Troughton. If you google them, you should find plenty of sites to download them from.

Love how the Emperor's Guards have a secondary weapon. We can only imagine what it does. They're built for maximum protection through unprecedented firepower.
I think it's the same as the one the guards have in Parting of the Ways.

@@nickthepick8043 Looking at it again, there are different configurations on different PotW guards. Some have ordinary plungers and there are a couple of different weapons. And they're pretty small anyway, so easy to miss!
@@JanjyGiggins Well, regardless I love that you added in that detail. It made sense in terms of function. Besides, if the Emperor was mobile, they'd need it.

yk I never thought of Hartnell's vortex as colourful gaseous clouds, I always thought of them as rifts and cracks in space-time

This is actually insane. It's a perfect mix of giving me classic vibes but being more in-line with the 2023 look of clouds and stuff. I love this, I'd love a longer version, maybe a minute? That'd be awesome!
This is something new! If it had a chunk more processing (or capture) etc, it'd be a totally untapped method that could go to air. Is the source via camera or CG?

If I was ever in charge of doing a season of Doctor Who I’d definitely bring back the slightly freaky gothic Sci-fi aspect of the original series and this intro would be the template

I can see why you think that but I promise there's no AI in this. I made it in Blender. That AI-like look you're seeing is the denoising - it's very heavy on my laptop so the samples aren't as high as I'd like. I wouldn't use generative AI.

@@JanjyGigginsHey, it’s been that since we got a proper release of b&w who from the bbc we can wait 😂 With this talent and a few extra hands/ A.I to help generate some textures/ funding … this could easily be what the bbc needs as opposed to the inconsistent animations they pump out

Thanks! Sadly, it's always run a bit wobbly and been a bit prone to derailing. I've never worked out why. I did recently manage to get a Hornby one for about half price in a sale though!
@@JanjyGiggins I bought a (not very well made) kit full brake for a tenner going back a while, so I’m gonna use the sides to do a similar job to yours. Good tip about the Varnish, and I might need to have a good practice with the lining pen to do it justice 😁👍🏻

Weird enough to be totally acceptable
Like a cloud-chamber showing radioactive particles... this is an impressive piece of work. The odd, near-stationary cloud behind the title words seems to stand out, but it actually seems to follow the original, so... pretty good, don't stop here. Unless it's stopping you getting your University diploma, then later... ;-)

How did you Achieve the Howlaround effect?
I took the video of the original and plugged it into the density of a volume shader, with a few extra noise textures to add detail and a gradient texture to limit the Z-thickness.
