Wow….. great tip, and great instruction, it was always a pain in the ass to reinstall those springs correctly, and now you made it so easy! Thank you very much! AAAAA+++++.
Great video. I bought a 597 two weeks ago and took it to the range today. I have watched several videos on the reassembly of the rifle and the guide rod and spring reinstallation is the step that seems to cause the most trouble. I used your tip on placing the cardboard pieces on both sides of the receiver and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip.
Hi catch some recent video from the Highland fling race I did on summer magic 8/19 with Keith and his new sails too . th-cam.com/video/gh_kcjDDaGY/w-d-xo.html Went really well! Cheers Warren
Great video. I had to use thicker card board on one side. First go around the side that need a thicker piece and let spring past the stoping point in the bolt. So spring got wedged. Every thing went back together but bolt wouldn’t move. So I didn’t force it. Took apart slowly and spring was hung up even with taking guide rod out. Took out other side and then it came apart no problem. Used thicker card board which helped keep spring in place on bolt and had it together in a few minutes.
Pretty darn good at showing how easy is to install the springs on the 597 bolt. And, it's short. No one else comes close to zeroing in on the one part of assembly that calls for direction.
Hi, this is Keith the guy you bought Terrapin from. I found your vids by chance this morning, it does my heart good to see you're caring for the old girl, in fact making significant improvements, well done!
this is very similar to the way I reassembled mine the first time I had it stripped down. I'll use this method after I'm done with it tonight and I do my traditional cleaning. haven't shot it in several months so it should be blast
Nice job, well done video and to the point. The tip about backing-off of the rod/spring set screw is a good point and prevents problems with ejecting and the tip on the cardboard on the sides of the bolt is also a great tip.
hey this might be quite late, but i've just gotten one and it's true that it is hard to edit with, but i am using adobe premiere pro and this works just fine! It has a build in flashlight wich works great and the camera works great too :D
One guy on TH-cam sold his 597 because he had too much trouble with putting the springs on the rods. He should have seen your video first!! OUTSTANDING! Now I know I am going to love mine.
What program/software you using to edit your videos? techmoan's review says this camera is hard to edit the files. I'm interested in buyinf one. Trying to learn as much I can first. My planned uses are caving & snorkeling. How do you feel it would do in low light like a cave?
just some tips: First off it's called football (nah just kidding with you american). 1- Soccer games are recorded from much higher ground, if you can, next time go higher.2 - you move pan, tilt and zoom too much, it becomes quite distracting from the game (one of the reasons games are recorded from an higher point of view is that you don't pan the main camera that much and you definitly don't zoom as much as you do or as deep) 3 - choose a better position in the field, you're not centered 5- f10
Hi, I have the same camera. I bought it after tecmoan's good review. Very nice camera but if I use it 720p mode its a bit blurry/ unfocused. Bot really bad but using 1080i mode its very sharp and nice. Do you have same experiences?
Кто подскажет где можно купить запчасти для Ремингтон 597
My rifle jammed. Took apart and the bolt has gouged to top side of the chamber. The bolt is jammed and won’t slide. Any suggestions? Thank you

😊 thank you!
Great idea. I've watched others on You Tube struggle for minutes trying to do this. You've made it "too" simple. Thanks!
Your video is still helping people thanks!
Hi How long is that double cat?

Nice!
I have a model 597 in 22 magnum. Each guide rod has two springs on them.

As a man with big hands you saved my life, thanks!
was just about to sell my rifle because of the reassembly issues. Your video resolve my issues, thanks!!

Awesome footage BTW.

wow
Looks like the video is stabilised by an onboard gimble, rather than software
*not really bad (typo)
