Hope you recover soon! Wishing you well.
Nicely done dude, congratulations on a great event. Looks like you had some good support around you for the race, and were constantly moving up the field. Orange, yellow that would have frustrated me. Great race.
Great! That is me at 5;04 with the blue jersey and orange backpack!
With how famous Selene is I was trying to stick on her tail for the most of time. However, I lost her when he hit the non easy section, by the way, it looks like you're riding great in the video.
Awesome Video and race! keep p the great work.
Hey man thanks. You know something your just over the border if you ever come this way (Minnesota) let me know and we can set something up.
Shot out to the legend Selene Yeager in your shot at the start… the Fitness Chick from Bicycle Magazine, right on, ride on!! 🤘
Ya did not notice her to until Talia said something. She was like I think that is Selene behind us and I was like who!!!
Great footage!
Thank you very much!
are you tracking your position in realtime?
No I was not, but to be honest if I checked lifetimes and unbounds site I could have seen my position after each checkpoint. Now saying that I wish I did.
Great video! Thanks for sharing - good luck going forward!
Thanks man.
ride on mate
When you say "people are just pulling away like it's nothing to them" that's just not the case, they too are on the limit. You have made such a vast improvement and your raw watts are not bad at all, you'll be in the top 10% of Cat C before long. Felicitations!
Very helpful video. I never would have found out how it works. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Hey guys, sorry I thought this was the Stage 5 race from ZRL. That race will be coming up on the 11th. This race is one from the Herd Summer Racing League.
Well done dude.
Thanks Chris it means a lot.
Good ride....Just got home. little bit ago from an outside ride.
Thank you Vovo. Yesterday and Friday were off days, so went out with my son for an easy ride introduced him to gravel and managed to get his furthest ride in ever. He is 7 and as of right now the bar is set to 11.8.
Just bumped into your channel & great content my friend, subbed to your yt.. i zwift n stream too! Hope to see you on the platform soon & ride on :)
Thanks Darren, It looks like your in the B cat. If I somehow increase my wattage over the summer or loose a few pounds I might be able to join up with you on a race or we could always do a group ride together.
In Cat C i find that people keep their powder dry on the flats, pushing low watts, then drop bombs on the hills, some holding over 5wpkg. Their average power is still lower than 3.2wpkg, preventing them from being bumped up to cat B. to Win you need a 3.5 FTP at least.
Chris this is what sucks for me. I'm close to 200 lbs. and when these bombs drop I get dropped fast. I see them slowing like your talking about but with them so far ahead eve if I catch the main pack I would be toasted and would not be able to continue. However mid pack is never a bad thing!!!
@@JustinPedersonC The thing is, there is plenty to be happy about for you, you're stronger than a whole load of riders and to jump up and do so well is great. Using your power off the line and holding the front pack, just as you did, will hold you in good stead. There is always the race within the race, beating someone close to your ability regardless of finishing position is a lot of fun.
Tough start there, way to stick in it and grab back those positions throughout!
Thanks, J. I think with it getting nicer out I'm spending more time outside and not on a specific plan. It might degrade myself on the Zwift races, but there so fun and I love the rush of trying to catch someone.
Going to try the little races in about an hour and half....I will probably regret it, haha
Vovo, there hard but definitely fun. How did you do?
@@JustinPedersonC In the middle of the pack...That is what I shoot for, haha
@@CyclingwithVovo that’s what go for as well. What cat you in?
@@JustinPedersonC C Cat...usually 2.7-2.8 w/k...right in the middle, haha
Good Job, mais faut envoyé plus de watts au départ camarade :)
Thank you.
Solid ride my dude, great push at the end. Welcome back and glad you are doing better!
J were going to need to do a race together, hit me up on facebook!!!
That was a Nice ride!
Thank you sir.
Which Cat race was this C or D cat?
Just a local group ride that started up last week, however was able to do a cat c on Zwift today.
Those Disk brake bikes are real heavy.
Going from my older Elmonda alr 4 to these I don't notice a difference and the stopping power is so much greater.
@@JustinPedersonC never have had a problem braking with rim brakes. I actually like a small slide. I had a couple oif disk brakes and rhey stop so quick I almost crash.
Get well soon let’s try to do a race when you feel better
I'm getting over the hump now. Been outside riding a little. If you are good I should be good for a race this upcoming Thursday.
Best of 😢😢😢😢 🎉🎉 best sorry man😊😊😊
Sorry you felt that way.
Great race! You never gave up!! You are waiting until you feel the climb to start putting down watts. At the crosswalk before the climb you should have been throwing down a big watts. The momentum will help carry you up the hill. Same goes for the next short incline. Overall great race & tremendous effort.
Brad thanks for the Reply. Next time on this course I will use these suggestions.
Great work throughout. Clyde kicker always a tough point every lap. Way to stay in it. Cheers!
Thanks J.
Nice work! Love seeing the gains and way to hold the sprint all the way to the line!
With all these gains I am starting to get my old High school body back.
Joey must be pissed, haha
Dude you need to know Joey. In the last 2 or so years of knowing him he has never been pissed or gave off the feeling. He is the most chill dude ever.
@@JustinPedersonC I was kidding of course..haha
Thnx! You solved my problem. 😀
Happy to help
I love your videos!
Thank you.
Very good. You’re at a good level in Cat C now which is an awesome improvement. PB’s up every climb as well.
Thank you Paul. Over these winter months I have definitely increased my fitness level. However now is not the time to stop and I must continue on.
Nice Jersey 😂
Dude thanks. I bought it prior to a group ride last year that had cookies at the rest stops, since then it has been one of the favorite Jerseys.
Nicely done on a very tough route. Looked well paced on the climbs, and utilizing groups to your advantage. Well done.
Thanks J. Two hours after I was done I seen you went live, I should of waited, but I was up early and wanted to get this done right away while I had the energy. But ya for the race I told myself I am not going to blow out of the start gate just take my time and it will come and it did.
Much respect!...I am in the same boat like a 2.8...Which means to be top 10 is highly unlikely...99% of riders slow their pass to get in a lower Cat but high end w/k so they can be top 5 in every race but they are not improving as a rider by not being full out gased. Finally I see someone like me were we rather push ourselves than win races at 70-80%.
Thanks dude, when doing the Cat C races I am aiming for half way through the field. In time hopefully I will be up towards the front.
256 average watts is great. Shame they bumped you up as a win in the D’s was coming. You will definitely start riding faster in the C’s. First mission is to stay with the pack. With each race you will last longer.
Paul that pack is so strong though, usually when they get to the first hill they pull away. I think to resolve this I need to stop eating ice-cream!!!
4 rides in one including the Alpe?? Jeesh!!!
Check out the mega pretzel!!!
Sorry Uber pretzel.
Impressive effort. Great work.
Thanks, bud, over the last year I have definitely made gains.
Well raced. Great job pulling back that 10 seconds after the first climb. As you indicated this may have pushed you into Cat C, if so congratulations.
Ya, I am no longer in the D races. I seen that you went live on Sunday I should of waited till then to race. The next race for me will be this Thursday Stage 4 at 6:00 PM Central time. If you got nothing going on come and have fun.
Racing Zwift Games tonight at 8pm EST if you wanna test your sprint
Gonna do this one Thursday at 7 eastern.
Justin - good edit. Been waiting for you to upload this. I was the guy who finished 2nd. You had some great efforts throughout! Just wanted to let you know, it was another big dude(98 kg) there with you on those climbs! Hope to race you again! Keep up the content
Dude thanks. For the videos usually there are a week later on the weekends when I release them. You did a great job in that race as well congrats. The next race I'm doing will be the Zwift Games Stage 2 Jurassic Coast this Thursday the 7th at 6:03 Central time. Once again I'll record but the video probably won't be up till the 16th.
Well done, looked good throughout. Great result overall, I imagine with those power numbers you will be upgrading soon! Cheers.
Ya, im just waiting for the change myself. I have done one or two C races already but am in mid pack. However with the D races im always towards the front and there is always something to see.
J it looks like your doing C races. We should work out something after the games and do a race together.
Hey buddy good racing! Just an FYI don’t waste your efforts on “sprint points” this series doesn’t give you extra points for them
That sucks, I want to make these efforts worth it. I'm working on a video right now from last weekend that says the spints are worth extra points, but I'm not sure if they even applied.
That guy in the HERD kit took off like a rocket 🚀 😉
Ya I would have taken him if my shifting was working!!!
@@JustinPedersonC I can arrange a rematch just pick a race and time and I’ll see what I can do
lol you must of been the HERD dude. Stage 4 this Thursday 6:10 PM Central Time?
Appreciate this video!!!!!!! I was thinking also whats going on 🤦♂️
Thank you as well.
Good race buddy but in ZwiftPower our group finished 1/2/3 so you still got 3rd 🥉
Ya I seen that but still need to get an overall right…
Cracking effort Justin. 5th is a great result on the course. Welldone. 🎉
Thank you Ryan!!! Over the last year I have sure surprised myself on what I am capable of.
Savage!!
Thank you Nitro.
Wow, it's beautiful over there. Can I ask a really dumb question? Why a trike? I'm really not familiar with that type of bike and we don't really see them over here in the Netherlands. Is it popular over there?
Hey Maarten, For the location it is a neat area. Its got its mix of country side, ponds, trees and nice houses. For the trike Joey ended up getting one earlier in the year and after a month of constantly watching him chill out on it I needed one to. For our age there is not very many people that have them but the older generation. However if your not looking to be someplace fast there neat. Its almost like sitting in a rocker and biking the same time. In the video bellow I actually was out biking while watching a football game to. You cant do that or should not do that on a two wheel bike. th-cam.com/video/xuq_ja8acJk/w-d-xo.html
Love the ride by shots
Thank you. The camera does not have the greatest quality but it does have the option for neat shooting angles.
