I love it when the mechanism itself meters out the motion. What a clever idea. I still want to try marble machines at some point, but there's only so many things I can do at a time. Thank you for sharing!

Do you recommend that i learn to use a CAD program? Maybe SketchUp? I've always avoided such things.

Hello Grahame. I think you are probably right.
This is like an inverted rampwalker, isn't it? Can you give some hints, please, about the center of gravity etc.? I imagine a somewhat hectic sloth might be a funny variant of this toy! The two middle legs have pins, and the outer ones just act as guides, I assume. Would having curved pins on a round dowel make the device self-centering?
