I really wish the lecture series would have the subtitles attached so that a different accent might not become the hurdle for the proper understanding of the issues and discourse because the content is more relevant or rather way more important in 2022, I request if possible please try and add the subtitles to the series, posterity is going to thank you.

What does a sustainable food system look like? Surely we can be sure that if we are adhereing to the permaculture principle of adding progressively more biomass to our food systems (more carbon, be it in the form of more alive plants or compost). This is surely a hard and fast rule that can be used to measure sustainability.... At least from one perspective...

Having spent time on Vieques Island, I have seen not only the result of decades of bombing by the US Navy but also the results of hormone growth testing by the large US food corporations. The imminent possibility of being forced into a trade 'deal' with the USA through brexit brings up nightmarish visions for the future. The corporations may have reigned in doses that promote growth of breasts and pubic hair in babies and menstruation in 5 year olds but not by much. And if their government are prepared to act as such to their 'protectorate' populations, how can we expect them to treat 'allies' that they have over an economic barrel?

I cant believe that people like Swinburn are teaching our kids today. So opinionated with science he does not understand. Teaching should not be agenda driven.

cameraposition is a bit poor, since the numbers and the screen are so important in following his interesting talk...and are just half visable...especially when english is not your native language...:(

I'm betting the new generation to buy the idea that good food is the one harvested at home. Such precious event as FOOD THINKERS with only 270 views means that people are more busy at shopping malls than longing to reconnect to Nature. For those who do, please visit t.co/hn9PJ0jcNK

Tara, if you are reading this: I saw a program about eating meat. It was shiwn by graph, that we should eat maximum about 40 kg of meat per year per person. As in about every program about the environment, it was said that the populatoin still increases fast. And... again, in a program about the environment, even while it is mentioned that the polulation rises fast, the fact is totally ignored that the too-large-size of our population is the root cause of - by far - most environmental problems. Again, scientists refuse to mention it or even refuse to recognize that the overpopulation is the thing that should be solved. The solution is *not* to use more efficient ways of producing food. Telling people that such is a solution (or even a part of a solution), is burrying the head in the sand. Please take your heads out of the sand, and acknowledge the fact that the overpopulation should be combatted.
