My buddy and I had a similar experience. We were stopped at a red light and Islands In The Stream came on. We both started humming, looked at each other, then started blasting out singing along. We ended up cracking ourselves up. Great experience I'd never thought we'd have. lol

My mom owned a Carpenters album when my sister and I were very young, I'm talking an actual vinyl record. For some reason, she would only break it out around Christmas time and it was played throughout the holiday. It wasn't until I was in my teens that I realized Superstar wasn't a Christmas song. My sister and I still joke about the Carpenters being Christmas music. When my sister brought it up the other day I remembered this clip and sent it to them and they thought it was hysterical

"This song sucks!!" ..no one could deliver that line the way Chris Farley did.. special talent.

Never liked Chris Farley. His schtick is always the same face and angry yelling, a take off of the stupid "down by the river" routine.

Chris Farley and David Spade are such shitty comedians that they didn’t deserve to have a beautiful voice as Karen Carpenter’s in this awful movie. I can’t stand either one of them.

David spades role in this film is so underrated! This scene is inspired by spade when he was a broke stand up in AZ with a bad car and the one cassette he had was the carpenters greatest hits. When a girl would come in and he would start the car he would say “who put this crap on?!” Despite driving around with it blasting singing his heart out most days :)
