Newsboys - No Grave
In my opinion, this is the best Newsboys song ever. The reason is that the lyrics concern a deep truth to every Christian's faith: knowing that you do not just live and die, but that you only truly live when you have died.
Why is that? Because one Person, the Son of God, chose to die when we were supposed to. Not because we deserve it, but because He loves us. By doing so, he has defeated death for us.
And during the time that he has given us on this earth we may live our lives reflecting His love and glory. When we live according to the purpose our Maker has designed for us, we may know that no grave is going to pull us away from reaching our life's goal: an eternity in the presence of the Almighty God.
This is why we need to collect our treasures in Heaven, where they are as safe as could be, instead of building our hope on the things of this world.

I love how the opening riff evokes a sense of emotion that relates to wonder. Obviously this was intentional, and I know it’s subjective, but that sound just captivates my heart and fits so perfect to the songs theme. My favorite riff of all time from them

I read a comment about this years before you posted and the person said they played this song as the shadow across the earth left and the land masses clouds sea ect become in view. I thought that was awesome many years ago.

Amen! It's sad that so many believe science and God can't go hand in hand. I believe they do. I had a science teacher in high school, and he said, "Where science can't go, Jesus does." It's a grand universe God gave us, and we're just infants in our understanding of his grace.
I've come to the conclusion that most science is naturalistic science which does not include the possibility of a higher creator or anything outside of the naturalistic framework. Therefore naturalistic science and God does not go hand in hand, nor can one disprove the other. They are separate. I think philosophy tries to understand all the questions of the universe and has the ability to ask if there is a God but also ask what makes the grass green. The scientific method or science should fall under philosophy as a subset. Maybe something like, science is the child of philosophy, naturalistic science is the rebellious child of science. But maybe I am try to remake definitions of old words. Science or maybe philosophy can go hand in hand. A science that can't account for the supernatural can't go hand in hand with the supernatural God. But, if all of creation sings in wonder, maybe this supernatural is not something outside of nature but a better view of who nature is all about.

This song is so important. Our society is so blinded by consumerism, pop-culture and the media that we've lost site of the natural beauty of the world and the people around us.
Its a great song, sharing the truth and light to all the world, so that they can have what we all have as a family in God if they only believe.
Thank you Newsboys!! Am an old Man who loves God. Being older gives me a respect for the truth that many have no clue of. Keep it up my gifted musicians. Serve God as you were called to do. Amen in his holy name.
