You hit the jackpot in Norfolk! Lots of carriers and the inbound sub...awesome! When I did the trip in '94 we also saw a sub out its way out to sea but not as close as your encounter.

That happen to us in Cheseepeak Bay. We were out in a Crab boat doing some fishing and drinking our share of the gree beer and acting like hillbilly jackssses. After it was time to back in shore, the Fog rolled in, so our Capt. Decided to follow the body bells tobacco to his Dock. Not Eben a whisper, their was this Big ass Nuke Sub heading out to Sea. I suppose we were some 100 yards away. It was impressive. They look so big out at Sea. We have been just across a Sub that being repaired just like our ship was being repaired at NP News. USS Enterprise CVAN 65.

Again, GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!!! NUMBNUTS!
