This car doesn't deserve to be a Supra and it's not because of the BMW engine. The car's engineering design makes no sense. For anyone who have not sat in the car, I'll say go sit in one and you'll immediately know what I'm saying. The Z4 platform cause Toyota to compromise on the size which affect the cabin comfort. The car is extremely tight and uncomfortable inside and only folks 6ft or less can drive in some level of comfort. I even saw someone 5'10" who was built that said it was difficult to drive due the cabin size. The previous gen had no such issues...therefore this car is not fit to be a Supra. Toyota basically shrunk the prototype to fit the Z4 chasis. Toyota engineering has been doing questionable things lately.
