0 seconds ago My beautiful Greek friend says Αντίο only appropriate to be used at funerals. To bid a loved one farewell. I think 'farewell' (out of date word in everyday British English) is the closest translation for Αντίο. Μου άρεσε ε μάθημα του Ελληνικά

Yes, we would use the brand name Pyrex for an oven proof glass casserole dish. We call band aid a plaster. Americans call a plaster a band aid! We would call tomato puree or paste, passatta. Although its not the same thing.

More, we use thermos and if we're being precise thermos flask. Apparently derived from the Greek word thèrme.

Hi, really enjoyed this episode. NE LS would use Pullman to describe a long distance train because that was the most famous manufacturer. The trains were First class luxury with a steward service. If you google Brighton Bell this is a specific train service with Pullman carriages. They had oval toilet Windows! more to follow

I'm going to use the mneumonic of NELS (native English Language speakers) to make it easier! We also use the term tupperware, although the 30 yr olds and younger wouldn't know what we mean! Still used is Hoover meaning a vacuum cleaner. the 1960's kids and teens would call a padded jacket an Anorak, and the term is currently used to describe a person who has niche interests such as train or plane spotting. it came about due to these individuals standing outdoors doing their 'spotting' wearing anorak with the hood up to keep warm and dry.
