As a franchise long Jin player I appreciate the tips on frames. I have always played with Jin ever since I was like 11 or 12. Since tekken 3 when he was introduced I have never switch main players. I use others for fun but Jin is my go to. We never paid attention to frames growing nor the plus and minus info on blocks. So this is cool to learn
what’s the song name in the background?
Your sunset from tekken tag 2
i thought im trippin we have the same lili except for the horns 😅
I was trying to make Eliza since she’s never coming back
How do you get EWGF to come out at 11 frames? I struggle to punish anything that is under 15 frames with it.
The forward neutral can be buffered on block in certain situations, I’ll cover it more in depth when I update the jin guide!
@@GabeFGC I would love that brother. I am brand new to Tekken (2 weeks in) I have been learning Jin. 9/10 times I can hit the EWGF, but on punish often the forward input is eaten by the block.
Your frame trap portion of the video didn't show any actually frame traps, so: db4 is +3 oH, making it perfect to try to trade Jin's m4 with opponent's jab 1 (left jab), is +8 oH, making it a nice frame trap for f4 CH df3~3 is +6 oB, and so is iWS 1,3~3. You can technically hit f4 from that as it is i16, but it's better to go for some faster option, like df1,4 ewhf is +5 oB, use m4 after (or a jab string if you are close enough) fff3 is +6 oB, and so is its alternate input: f,n,d,df,uf3 One last tip: After d2 oH (not counter), do ws4,4 and watch what happens. Did you hit the opponent? Good. Did he block? Perfect. Next time try this: d2 oH, FC.df4, dash, d2 After FC.df4 hits, d2 is guaranteed.
The frame traps in the video are accurate but thanks got the information, you can also 1+2 after uf2 and catch most options with a heat engager for health recovery
I don't struggle doing electrics, i do struggle punishing with them. Do you have any tips? Im on ps5 controller.
The forward neutral can be buffered on block in certain situations, I’ll cover it more in depth when I update the jin guide! I’m in ps5 controller also and honestly it just takes a TON of practice
Amazing guide. Just subbed my guy
Thanks man I really appreciate it!
I need alisa guide
I’ll add her to the list, it might be a while though
@@GabeFGC thanks I’m waiting u
Your fkn video putting me to sleep omg.
Then don’t watch it :^)
Hey about Jin, because he has so many good moves I end up autopiloting , can you help????
While jin can auto pilot through a lot of the ranks, its better to be intentional with what youre throwing out, this doesnt mean you cant be aggressive but try thinking a step or two ahead and working towards a goal, for example using ff2 to fish for a whiff punish with zanshin up 1 or even just using frame traps to set up your next move
You missed Jin's 14 frame punisher f 1+2 Also theres alittle bit of missinformation Jin's electric is not a mid, all mishima electrics are high and Jin's electric startup frame is not 11 its 14.
Yeah his electric 1 also does not make it any less risky as he doesn’t recover any faster, BUT I skipped f1+2 as I thought his other 14 frame was better :^)
prob the best intermediate Jin guide I've seen - clear and concise with a lot of good info. tyty
Thank you man, I really appreciate it!
Good One
Thank you, I hope it helped!
at 10.20 I feel like the combo notation might be wrong? Watching the video after d1 2 the next move is a kick but you have the input as b1f? is that definitely right?
No some of the notation for the combos are wrong I think I forgot to include a hold back to enter back turn in that one
good channel here
Thank you! I appreciate it
This format for a tutorial is SO good. I have been trying to learn xiaoyu but i feel like most of them isnt that easy to get into without knowing anything before watching
Nice! I’m glad the guide could help, xiaoyu is a tricky character for sure
one amazing frametrap that i always end up using is db1 into f4, this help check whether your opponent is likely to press when they’re midrange or if they’ll respect your pokes after getting hit
This is a good one, ill have to check it out later!
@@GabeFGC db4 into f4 is also a possibly better frametrap
@@ryanphan7433 better than db1 -> f4?
@@GabeFGC if you’re close to the opponent, db1 -> f4. if you’re midrange, db4 -> f4. don’t whiff db4 though because some people might be able to whiff punish
For the new ones heres i was hearing 4,4, 2 instead of forward forward 2 😂, even the subs says "ford for 2"
The onscreen inputs didn’t help? 😭
Beautiful guide
Thank you! I hope it helped!
For some reason I cannot get the pick up off the first combo. The chf4
Hey, it is pretty trick I try to think of getting close enough and using b3 before they settle on the ground.

At 1:32 you mentioned that the string is actually interruptible. My question is do all jab strings were the 3rd hit comes out in 24 frames be interrupted with a jab of my own. Probably not because this game has no rules only exceptions Sadge also why cant u follow up with a jab punish after 4 hits when you are +10 why isnt it guaranteed dmg
Hey! No, not all jab strings with slow hitting third hits can be interrupted with jabs due to the fact that some moves have more hit stun than others. One way to test if you can interrupt is by checking to see rather or not the combo is a true combo. You can do this by using the string in practice! If the indicator appears and displays 3hit combo, that is a natural combo and cannot be interrupted, if this indicator doesnt appear you can probably interrupt that string with a jab or a crouch jab!
This is a really great tutorial for Jin. Too bad I'm using control pad lol
Thanks! What would help you on control pad?
I guess I’m dumb 😂 this is my first ever Tekken game and I don’t understand any of this
Hey what can I help out with?
@@GabeFGC I honestly don’t know hahaha my brain can’t process the Tekken controller
@@andresmaldonado1925 if it helps Controls: 1= X/SQUARE 2= Y/TRIANGLE 3= A/X 4= B/CIRCLE

:^)
YOU forgot his 14 frame f41 punisher which is a heat engager
Did I forget F3,1? If so my bad
F4,1 is not only not a heat engager, but it is also not a move :^)
@@GabeFGCit was in the video, asked myself one moment too what he meant 😂
@@D4CrAnK I thought he meant F3,1 but that was in the video so I was confused
I get excited when I do even one in battle! Lol. Doing it in practice is nothing, but using it in matches is the problem.
Wow... amazing content for not only beginner Jin players, but beginner Tekken players in general (with the introduction to terms like okizeme). Liked, subbed, and saved for labbing tonight. :)
Thank you I’m glad it helped!
You’ll get it eventually, dont sweat it. Just takes time and practice, and eventually you’ll be at the point where the regular wgf becomes the rare input.
I didn't know Lilli had a wall grab, what's the input for that??
F2+4 :^)
the combo in min 11;16 doesnt hit the foward 1+2 is there a timing?
Yes the window for it is very small it takes a bit of practice
Is the only combo that I struggle with lol
Can quarte circle forward 3 be done without the joystick? I’m having a hard time getting that move
Yup, I use d-pad, think of it as rolling your thumb from down to forward
@@GabeFGC omg!! I finally got it. I’ve been tryna learn it from months. Thank you sooo much 😭
@@demeescamilla8740 noice good luck and have fun!
bruh i cant get the ff1+2 at 11:14 :|| i may be dumb or its just very strict
Not dumb at all that one is just very difficult timing wise
@@GabeFGC oh good to know heh. Can you pull it off consistently though in matches? Great video btw mate, i took a lot of notes hahaha
Im struggling with people that are super aggressive against me. I just dont know when to punish because i suck at the game probably
You can get their aggression off of you with armored moves, you can also try stealing turns with d3+4
@@GabeFGC ok thanks
Great guide but for the love of GOD turn on input history...
I’ve added it to the newer guides, not input history as I think it clutters the video but the input is on screen in the new ones :^)
This video is ok for people who been playing fighting games a little bit and want to get better just with jin but honestly it's hard to follow if u a freshman new booty beginning player for example you say things sometimes like Kenshin 2+3 is plus on block and allows for follow up but don't show what it looks like to be plus on block or what you can or just a example of what that would look like you just show the what the move is instead of what it's intended to do
Like you did when talking about oki
Hey! My other guides are more beginner friendly, but there was a lot I wanted to cover in this one so I assumed the viewer would have the basics understood. If it helps, being + on block means you have frame advantage over your opponent allowing you priority when going for your next move, if it helps, you can think of frame advantage as hit stun. Let me know if there’s any move in particular I can help you out with
New Lili guide pls
Once I get the next two characters covered I’ll probably start putting out updates for all of the guides!
Great video for jin novices
Thanks I appreciate it :^)
Great video I just wish I had some pizza
Not this time
Best guide to Jin I’ve seen!
Thanks man :^)
As a beginner Jin player this will help thanks ❤
Glad it could help :^) gl
Awesome clip, where you can't see shit.
You could’ve seen it live on stream :^) sorry the slow-mo and freeze frames didn’t help you piece together what happened
adding notation on the best moves section would be a great help for newbie like me
It’ll be in the guides from now on just found a good way of showing notations in the Jin video
Great guide! I've seen a lot of Tekken 8 guides and I think yours is one of if not THE easiest and simplest to understand while also giving plenty of information. Keep it up! I hope you do more in the future.
Thanks! I appreciate it!
