Man, the things I never expected to learn.

You know, I've actually heard about EU games running at different speeds, but I didn't know what all systems specifically. Woo, you've been binging my content. I can only hope you'll enjoy watching my reviews on my other channel as well- I review every game as well as post my recorded gameplay for it.

@@stickghostplays that speed issue doesn't apply to all games, but from memory the Euro version of this runs slower and more manageable, which would be better because this is significantly faster than my arcade PCBs run it at, all three of those run about identical

Well, well... By miraculous coincidence, I'm actually working on my Crime Patrol review right now. The gameplay will likely be delayed (likely because the game might be simple enough to edit in time) because I have a more seasonal game to cover in October...

That is a very odd change. A regional thing, maybe?

@@stickghostplays it's a US region disc, all our 3DO games in Australia were the US ones, a lot of our 3DO consoles were US consoles too. Was hard to get one here, never saw a regular retail release, only import.

That's actually almost the subtitle of the Game Gear spinoff... which was inspired by Zelda 2... though nowhere near as good as this one turned out. That one wasn't made by SEGA.

It's the SEGA CD menu (or dashboard if you'd like.) Normally you'd only hear the first 7 seconds or so before the disk loads.

Huh. There was a fan-made version of WSJR? I didn't think the game had that kind of crowd. Then again, the ALG games do have some big changes across all versions. Or is it just a hack that restores content dummied out of the original game? Either way, you're certainly well-informed.

All ALG games were ported in Singe by Italiandoh, recording it from their mamecabinet who took a few creative liberties such as a custom high score screen. Italiandoh also ported some other games into Singe such as Timegal, Ninja Hayate and Hologram: Time Traveler. In short, the “weird arcade version” is actually a fan-made

@@Potaogirl-qm3ys Well huh again. I always figured the arcade version had high scores that the ports simply didn't carry over. I presume he added the music to the map screen too then? I wonder why WSJR? got so many changes compared to the other games. I'm guessing Space Pirates got a few mods too, but nowhere near WSJR?

@@stickghostplaysI don’t doubt the original arcade versions had a score screen as Last Bounty Hunter has one when the game starts, but the screen in the Singe versions were created for those versions. Also, the Input Your Name screen for Mad Dog Mccree uses the original stock music used in the saloon called Rag and Bone from the music library Topsy Turvy by De Wolfe Music.

I'll take it. I definitely fucked up the audio on this one.

Sadly, something I learned years ago... but right after this playthrough in question- this was actually one of the very first games I covered on the channel.

Perhaps a little hyperbolic, but I suspect it was at least partially made along with the revolutionary original... But of course, if you want my opinions on the game, you'll have to watch my review on my other channel...

There's commentary, but it's minimal due to the length of the game compared to the frequency of my speaking, so I just used the high quality raw game audio and simply inserted any significant input to it as opposed to my usual mixed-together recording, as it admittedly ends up messier.

You flatter me, but I was indeed in the mood- gotta get ready to cover #3 sometime soon... I've already got the first 2 reviewed on my other channel. The original was actually one of my first reviews like 5 years ago, but this one kept slipping away from me since I hadn't played it as much as the first.

Huh, this comment slipped under my radar. I figured I'd play a different car for each game and thought I'd go with a vehicle unique to this entry. Man I was having trouble driving around (especially in reverse), as y'all can see.

Yeah, not a bad version for 8 bits except the difficulty. I'm also obligated to take the moment to plug that I did a full review of various GA versions as well as have playthroughs of the arcade, Genesis, and SEGA CD ones as well if you're interested...

Yep. This is the version without the annoying white noise. The TM2 playthrough were the first vids I starting using Audacity on. Everything after is a redo (including the TM2 review itself) minus Golden Axe 2. I have turned the originals unlisted/private to prevent confusion. Do keep liking and commenting though because the new vids are starting from scratch. You can even just copy and paste the old comments- I don't mind!
