I will never understand why Michigan hired him. He was terrible at Ohio State. Awful at recruiting. A bad coach. Day cut his pay and would only give him a one-year contract. All the other coaches got raises and 3 year contracts

9 years with Ohio state, no one would keep their job that long if they were a terrible. Sorry you have no idea what your talking about.

Agreed. He was more of a holdover from the Meyer era and I think Day stuck with him for continuity sake. His recruiting hasn't been good the last few cycles and with Day not offering him an extension I think he saw the writing on the wall. Him joining Michigan was just his way to stick it to OSU I'm guessing.

@franklinhicks639 Would that change anything? It doesn't change the fact that Alford only had one year left on his contract and he chose to walk when OSU isn't exactly hurting for money either. Why didn't he already have an extension if OSU wasn't content letting him go? I'm just saying.

Amen on Donovan Edwards staying healthy. This final season of his is his year. What loyalty to stay with Michigan playing behind an All American RB in Blake. Blake and Donovan together was up there with USC’s Lendale White and Reggie Bush combo in my humble opinion. Michigan fans are elated with Tony Alford joining the staff and hope he can bring new insights to the game as well as improve recruiting.

Wow! Praise the Lord! I am so very blessed to be born and raised a Buckeye fan. I love and have always admired Coach Tressel. As a humble spectator, Coach taught me that "class always shows," and to love and respect others. Now, a little bit older, I have learned that the love of God will conquer all. "You win with People " this is why I am so proud, because Jesus' life is clearly shining throughout the entire program!! Congratulations on being available Coach Tressel and family. Thank you! God bless always.

Outstanding interview. This former Massillon Tiger played for Earle Bruce and Bob Seaman in my high school career. My collegiate career was at Xavier University with graduation in 1974 allowed me the honor to participate in the Xavier v. Marshall game in 1971 that was depicted in the movie WE ARE MARSHALL. Football career aside, Coach and Becca Moore have become such a wonderful part of my hometown through the football program but more importantly, the community. Massillon has been blessed with a family of integrity and one that has respect for the traditions of Massillon football history. I have become a subscriber and will continue to enjoy your programing and podcasts. All the best.

Fans, coaches or the pay is only part of the problem. You have to factor in irresponsible kids being raised into adulthood; people can make money sitting at home addicted to social media; people too lazy to get up off of the couch and work; the problem of obesity in our society. The military and businesses are finding it more difficult to attract qualified candidates. This problem is all across the board.
