Windows 7 may be OK since you can have a 32bit version of it. I've seen a couple of people run it without the game speeding up wildly in W10, while running the repackaged versions of the game, but it seems to be the luck of the draw too.

Yes. So far I've been unable to run it on W11 and there's been no new post on the Vogons forum about it. Microsoft may have killed it for good on newer OS.

The steps are documented on PC Gaming Wiki. Unfortunately that download is her game folder, with modified 1991 season bikes (she added her own bike) and inconsistent tracks, including modern Valencia.

I will upload it. It has been 20 years since I played with correctly installing mods (unpack the dkz, use a bikeset switcher) to just provide you with a mod download, next weekend (or so) I will package the bike files to drag and drop to your game folder.

If you're looking to buy, get it from the latest Humble Bundle sale. www.humblebundle.com/games/ultimate-racing-sim-bundle I find Assetto Corsa way too shallow and nonsensical to drive, plus it lacks so many rules/features needed for a proper race event. I uninstalled it 6 years ago and never looked back. It is extremely accessible and friendly to newcomers, there are a lot of open road tracks available for people who just enjoy cruising around - which is fine, it's about you having fun, not it needing to be realistic.

Yup, until 2016 you could have a race most of the time. Things were already not so great for historic cars in 2015 but most other cars were raceable. About the track, not only is this official, it's also paid. x_x

Well, I consistently have had the best start on races I participated, it's not fair to compare his launch to mine. If you notice, I had to check up because cars ahead of me were not moving. His start was average.

@@johjoh9270 I understand. I had a couple of races with him and he just doesn't start very well. It's the same regular procedure, red lights counting down and then green. He crashed out on the first lap of the other race as well, haha. I got taken out a few laps later.

rF2 is not CPU heavy for performance, it is very unoptimized and it pulls the power from the GPU. For CPU, you only need a high speed dual core, so if your PC is at least 3ish GHz, you're fine. For GPU, the minimum you can run it today is 4GB, ideally no less than 6GB, and make sure to turn environment reflection, road reflection and special effects to Low (at least). Turn opponent texture quality to high. It hopefully will help you.

@@HugoBonami just did a quick race in spa with acc and 40 ai with around 70 to 100 fps, as i say ryzen 5600x run up to 4.6ghz and rtx 3070 should be enough but still drop to 20 fps

@@testdirver rF2 is not these other games that properly use multiple cores, etc. Your GPU is definitely good enough, you need to post on the forum about your experience and also details. For example, what cars are you trying to run, and if you can, screen captures of your graphical configuration. The car in this video is very heavy to run but your performance should still be better than mine, so there's definitely more to be uncovered.

Il ne faut pas chercher à voir son accident et les scènes qui ont suivi, ce fut absolument horrible, insoutenable. Et de toutes façons il y a aucune image a part la seule photo de la voiture coupée en deux encastré dans les rails, et heureusement.

Yes, I did. And the AI doesn't magically devise a working AIW, that rFactor (1) myth is the AI minutely refining their path and behavior, but it doesn't matter as the studio did something in the past 3ish years that broke the single-player experience. There's a new bug that if you restart a race, the AI will also systematically pull to the side of the road and stop.

@@HugoBonami Do you have AI limiter turned on? If it's set to 5% it gives such chance to AI to fail.

@@michasmarzewski3670 I've tested the game with it at 5 or 10% a couple of times but no, I run it at 0%. The issue is proper AIW not being created for more than one car, besides whatever other AI glitch was introduced between 2017-2018. You could play rF2 offline most of the time without problems but that is no longer the case.
