2018 Suzuki GSX-S750 Quick Overview after 12k Miles
There are some things I definitely forgot to talk about, but I still figured to put it out anyway! Here is a brief-ish overview of my 2018 GSX-S 750 which I thoroughly enjoy and is a true underdog in it's class.

Still new to this editing! but hope you enjoy this video of my first thoughts and what I think about my Dads 2021 Z900 RS Cafe. I was honored to take it for a spin and it's a motorcycle that is a whole lot of smooth and fun.

As you will know, the likes outweigh the dislikes by far and I give this bike a lot of praise for how awesome it is. Hope you Enjoy! Photo by Tima Miroshnichenko from Pexels Photo by Lenin Estrada from Pexels
Boys, should I trade in my Triumph Thruxton as a down payment for one of these without telling Barb? Lemme know
I have a fz-09 and a gsxs750. They are very similar. Faz is quicker and Suzuki seems faster. I prefer the 4 cylinder engine but the Yamaha has better ride position. Suspension is better on gsxs. That’s my opinion
i bought one barely used because is powerful too much hp for beginner
can you use is for 10hrs riding?
Hey brother where did you get the after market parts?
Where did you get the tank pad?
Doesn't the Z900 have 125HP. Is 113HP from some rear wheel Dyno test?
Dyno is 105 hp. Look it up on TH-cam.
What was the repair calibration thing you had to do? and what is "the paper clip thing"? thanks.
this is a super easy to ride and valuable bike on the market, very suitable for beginner rider upgrade to the middle range.
It is equipped with slipper clutch?
no
Dream bike…
whoa dude do you live in Palos? LOL whats up neighbor! I know Lagrange when I see it lmao
Do you find the speedometer accurate? I find mine shows faster than what I am actually traveling. If I think I'm doing 90 kms (56mph) I'm actually doing 82 kms (50 mph).
Mine is 3mph faster than I'm actually going.
I felt the same on mine.
Get a HealTech Speedohealer 😊
Its european law that the speedometer shows 5-10% more than what you actually go. Its the same in cars. Look it up :)
Do you find the bike pretty comfortable for longer distances at 6’0” tall?
Yeah I don’t have an issue took some longer rides only thing that started to feel uncomfortable was the stock after some time. I hear the aftermarket ones are better.
Say, I know those roads you rode on. There's a bar on Archer that you passed, by the cemetery, that used to be owned by Capone.
70 mph in first gear?
No I believe it was less than that lol I’m sure it can get up there but redlines sooner
At the top the GSX S750 is a quick as the Street Triple R. Need to push a little more at the bottom to compete but in the mid range the GSX is as quick and max torque is lower revs. Agree a great bike for the money. Does the little fly catcher on the front help smooth out the air flow?
Yeah not really unless I’m in a full tuck just pushes it alittle higher on my chest but I got to say it does look nice
The air flow is pretty smooth regardless. But, I put on a small fly screen to protect the clocks (and looks good) and the flow is a little better and pressure off the body is a little better. But neither is an issue really.
Do you still have this bike? If so, how has it been since you bought it? I really want to get one.
Seems everybody over all liked it but cons I heard were the plastic was cheaply made and paint faded after 3 years. That it redlines way too easy. That it comes with supersport tires that wear too fast, then how does it ride when you put tour tires on. And also rust was showing up after 3 years. What do you think?
If you could comment on this pleaseee! ^ it seems so hard to find information about these bikes, which is sad because most of it sounds like good things
@@Nutmilk157 also they complained about the black and white screen hard to see in the sun that other bikes have colored ones. And I noticed how the rear swingarms look like toothpicks compared to say the cb650r beefy aluminum swingarm which won't rust. I would worry too wondering if taking those plastic strips off and on for filter and plug changes etc if they would break or not mold as tight to the gas tank in the future from pulling them off and he wished the gas tank was bigger cause he says seems like he is always in the gas station. I believe Suzuki rates last for durability out of the four Japanese bikes with Honda first. They are made in India too so if you want one made in Japan got to look for the j I guess where the vin number is. But the cb650r you can't put a slip on it and the tail to me looks too stuby and no bottom fairing.
But if you ask me they are all over priced, I mean you can buy a brand new Ford Maverick for 20000
Hmm yeah they definitely could update this bike, for the price it seems like the stock suspension and engine are huge plus though, and I guess it just depends on if you are wanting the most up to date technology etc. overall from people who’ve owned it they seem to love it! Really not a fan of the other naked bikes around this same class.. as far as the rust goes, I can’t imagine it going to rust unless you seriously jack up the swing arm or if you leave it out in the rain all the time. But idk for sure wish they would’ve have gone aluminum
@@Nutmilk157 ya cause probably small stone be hitting under the swing arm. I wonder if could have the swing arm wrapped, I seen a kid clear wrap all his plastic. I'm looking too but nothing 100% I like. The thing is I think a world economic depression is coming soon and might be big rebates.
Nice video! What bug screen are you using ? And does it deflect the wind enough?
I’m using the Suzuki aftermarket windscreen and no unfortunately it’s just mainly for looks lol wind just hits me a bit higher on my chest and thanks!
Thanks for the review. How’s the wind protection when you get on the highway doing 65 to 75 miles an hour? Considering this for a purchase and sometimes me and my buddies get on the highway is only when we have to and I have found out that I appreciate some wind and bug coverage so I’m not feeling like I’m getting blown off the bike
Thanks for watching. My dad took it to Tennessee which was about a ten hour trip and the oem windscreen does create some wind protection. Not the greatest if sitting upright without being in full tuck but definitely better than his MT-07. They offer other windscreens that are taller as well.
I didn't feel the driving wind at the speed 65 to 75 at all. That is one of my favorite things.
outstanding video kevLee!! i do some z900 vloggin too could use likes and pro tips
Much appreciated! And nice man yeah I’m very new too this so I’m right there with you but likes I can definitely give lol
I'm getting 47-48 mpg on a Z900. When I fill up I only put 2.7 gallon and go 130 miles before fill up
I come by my appreciation of this look via a then new 83 GPZ 550. I was 17 and I remember reading about the GPZ and then finally seeing one for the first time. I scratched that itch eventually with the purchase of a 2004 ZRX 1200. I want one of thse 900s...bad.
I’d have to look that one up never heard of the ZRX 1200 but sounds very quick. I haven’t rode that many motorcycles but so far the z900 has to be the smoothest so far. Hopefully you can get a test ride!
Very nice. What is the rear turn signal / LP plate kit?
I believe it was the motodynamics fender eliminator kit
I was 20 years old in 1972 when the Z1-900 came out. The local dealer got 5 of them, and they were gone before I could get there. I had a Honda CB750. The first year they didn't quite have the engine sorted out yet. The carbs were too much, and not enough cam. I could out run them on the Honda, that I did the 803 kit, cams and exhaust on. By 1974 it was over, they were the fastest thing on 2 wheels you could buy! LOL I've just about talked myself into a 2022! LOL JMHO's --gary
Kawasaki always trying to outdo everyone else in terms of speed! But that’s awesome thanks for sharing I hope you at least get to test ride of those! Which might have a good chance of you wanting it more lol
Anyone that says jap bikes have no fun factor are Harley riders and most of them suck. Couldn't ride a bike with high hp.
lol Yeah I would agree this one does have that fun factor and this bike for me at least is more than I will need.
@@kevleemoto3925 indeed. Where you from? Kinda looks like North Carolina. I live like 20 minutes from the back of the dragon. Yessir, they are mean bikes. I got a 2020 Yamaha raven R6, and I upgraded to that July of last year. I love them both. I keep the R6 for the major Twisties and the track. I'ma track out the mt10 eventually but I'ma just enjoy it as is ATM. I don't have the windshield. Is that the Yamaha windshield or aftermarket?
@@pwnzormcduck6546 I live south of Chicago I was just at the tail a couple weeks ago for the first time. What a experience. And to be that close, that’s awesome. Yeah I agree they are mean I still feel I’m taking it easy on that throttle. Nice that’s a great combo. I’m sure the MT-10 would be a really fun track bike after seeing videos. And it’s the Yamaha oem mid height windscreen.
@@kevleemoto3925 yessir, maybe one day if your ever close to the back of the dragon. We could get up with each other. I own a motorcycle business. I'm working on opening a tuning shop right now. Waiting on the dyno. We should hit the ground running next spring. We will be located in southern WV.
@@pwnzormcduck6546 Yeah man for sure if I even go back up there which hopefully soon now that I found out all the other nice roads like the tail. There’s so many must be so nice to live up there. Wow that’s really cool good for you and definitely If I do I’ll keep in touch!
I have the exact same bike. 2021 raven edition. Mean ass bike brother. Keep safe, it'll dump ya on your ass quick of your not careful.
I had the original Z900, and it had more attractive clocks than the Z1 this is modelled on. It also had a rear seat grab rail, missing on this. An annoying detail is the air gap around the headlight ?
Oh nice! Yeah I see what your saying I believe there is an air gap around the headlight there’s some things we wished they did different. But from afar can’t help stare
this is definitely on my short list. I have a triumph thruxton rs now so I'm looking for a little brother for it. what can I say I love cafe style bikes
Oh those are very good looking bikes. They are head turning bikes by default. Definitely worth a test a ride.
The stock tires are definitely in need of replacement. I replaced mine with Michelin road 5’s. Also an Acro header, pair valve delete kit, ecu flash, tail tidy, and Rizoma turn signal upgrade. (US versions suck for their turn signal option!) This is a very nice bike!
You did quite a bit! That’s awesome, Road 5’s I heard are good tires seem popular for a reason. Thank you!
“Let’s get on it” Quit short shifting and really do it. I own one and love mine. Great bike!
I guess since it was my dads could’ve been why haha but that’s the exact thing he would’ve said. thanks!
got this bike in green 2020,15k km,and still loving this, nothing have been replaced except shocks from ohlins, brake master from brembo, rear footstep set from yoshimura, and as for exhaust and brake caliper i'll just leave it in stock as i dont really like loud "blarr" sound that aftermarket exhaust usually made, and for braking system i think this bike is already as safety as it could be
Those are some nifty upgrades! That’s awesome I’m sure you feel a difference. Yes I agree stock exhaust is loud enough for me and at least looks good as well.
yo this might be my next bike - if God allows
Just do it! Shia says so lol
The colour is sucks! Original ultra green is much better.
Damn hear I actually really like the grey but hey cant go wrong with that Kawi green!
I owned a 75 KZ900 in the day. I was a bit of a hooligan back then and at 68 I still am.😀
Lol Wow but never too old!
Wow that induction noise is so good
This bike looks and is awesome especially to us guys who came of age in the 1980’s. But, man, I’ve never loved the sound of an in-line four. I’ve owned them and…eh. My VFR with an aftermarket muffler… that was music. Ducati, Moto Guzzi? All day long.
That’s awesome yeah can’t get over that stock muffler it begs to be revved higher. I agree!
I want a lime green one ...
Just do it! Lol
Looks epic in this color.
Thank you I agree
I'm getting my Z900RS in July. God I'm soooo exited :')
That’s exciting! No doubt you’ll enjoy that bike 👍
I have a 2020 z900rs. It'll get 60 mpg or better if you put it around. My average is 40 though. I don't thrash it but I don't put it around. Your milage may vary.
I totally agree what I was saying I guess was more to average mpg but your right it does vary
I have a 2018 Z900RS, rootbeer and orange. I replaced front and rear suspension with K-tech, added a Corbin seat, Ivans ECU flash , fender eliminator kit and a bikini fairing. At tire change time I put on Michelin Pilot Power 5. It was a really nice bike stock but now its awesome. Its a blast in the mountain twisties.
Wow that’s awesome. It’s been upgraded to a Z900RS 2.0! I could imagine how that bike rides versus stock form. Thanks for sharing
I just purchased a 2022 z900 cafe black and silver. All I need now is better weather. I drove it home 38mi yesterday and was impressed with the handling.
Congrats! I agree, dips in the corners like a proper sport bike! Enjoy the bike and ride safe. Yes the nice weather needs to come already
@@kevleemoto3925 I was cleaning the bike the other day and saw the huge catalytic converter underneath, wow does that exhaust need to go with a tune.
@@mrglock2313 yeah it’s still on since my dad is using it for longer rides so he doesn’t want to turn it too loud but I do agree lol
Been thinking about getting this bike, as an upgrade from my SV650..
Awesome haven’t rode the SV650 but only heard really good things. If your able to test ride the Z900 definitely recommend it! A lot of great bikes in that class but Z900 is for sure a contender.
@@kevleemoto3925 Wow, 2years later and this video was recommended to me lol.. Happy to report that two years ago, I did indeed purchase a 2022 Z900RS Cafe, and have been LOVING it ! I'm sure your video at the time was one of many that nudged me to upgrade to the bigger bike, thanks man !
It’s a really great bike, I’ve 55,000 km on mine and I love it. I’ve done a lot of mods but the bike is great stock. Upgraded rear shock and an ecu flash are the two best upgrades for it.
Wow you’ve done quite a bit! Well more than bit Lol that’s awesome yeah seems like it I agree
Video of the asphalt more than the bike! 👍 Subscribed
I Appreciate the input. I’ll try better next time
@@kevleemoto3925 I feel bad, that wasn't nice of me. Accept my apology. I shall delete this comment if you don't mind and give you a like and also subscribe.
I've got a 2021 Z 900 RS. Share your joyful impression of that engine. Love to twist the throttle and hear that sound, much of which is from the intake (airbox). Enjoyed your video!
Very nice! Glad to share the same impression of that engine lol much appreciated
Reminds me of my 1980 Kawasaki LTD 1000 in my day!
Oh and it’s Eddie Lawson by the way. Funny you said Larson though because that was an on going joke name on a KZ site I used to be on.
Thanks for the catch! I should’ve further looked into that I guess that’s an on going mistake people including me made lol
I have this same bike. Same color even. It’ll be a year sometime in February. I’ve changed a few things. Brocks Streetmeg exhaust. Slightly higher windscreen. Tail tidy and that’s about it so far. I love this bike, plenty of power though i can definitely feel the motor restrictions as you go over 100mph. ECU flash definitely next on the list. Thanks for the video.
Wow that’s awesome seems like you got the most important things done I’ll be looking up that Brock’s Streetmeg to see what that looks like. Don’t think I’ve gotten it over 100mph but that makes sense, ECU should definitely solve some of that especially over those triple digits and thanks for watching!
