Madeira day 5 - the west is best
มุมมอง 74ปีที่แล้ว
The final day, see's us choose to go back to the West coast trails, try a few new lines and repeat some favourite lines with a bit more pace. The day saw us endingup at the see for a wee swim and beers with time to reflect on what was possibly the best biking trip ive ever been on, which is saying something considering the places I've ridden bikes.
Madeira day 4 - the swooshiest trail ever !
มุมมอง 44ปีที่แล้ว
Day 4 in Madeira, saw us be taken to the north coast where its normally a bit damper and for more of an adventure day than it was party laps. Here also lies one of the most awesome trails ever with one of the worst and crazy liasons to get through. We descended about 10 maybe 15 mins on a horrifically bad gravel road to then traverse 15 mins along a narrow lavada with extended narrow and awkwar...
Madeira day 3
มุมมอง 109ปีที่แล้ว
With a recent trip to Molini to now edit, I figured I'd best get the remaining days of Madeira finished. Day 3 saw us visit the west coast for the most banging set of trails. Fast, pumpy, aggressive jumpy.... nothing steep but superb speed and flow on this side of the Island. Storm Babet will likely see me finish the Madeira edits today/tomorrow so expect to see another 1 or even 2 released in ...
Aboyne race 2023 - hottest day of the year?

Nothing a dook in the river Dee couldnt fix though. this looks to be the last race of the year for me, and this may be the last I edit make too. certainly there will be no more edits of local scottish spots. Day 2 of the Dunkeld blind enduro. This was a whole different kettle of fish today 1. hoo mate, how did you managed to do the root jump in Greg Jollife trail (16.21) in that crazy wet condition...!!!...really superb

    • @clyneslines9596
      @clyneslines9596 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who knows dude? It was pretty bad conditions for it. And I did loose a foot from my left pedal as I did the move . I think with awkward lines like that especially in a race you have to do and consider a few things . Probably the most important thing is to set up for it early. So you are psychologically ready for it and your easiest route into the line is committed. I was ready for this line 2 corners beforehand to ensure that I came out of the last left hander precisely where I needed to be so I wasn't carrying any indecision leading up to the root ball. Whilst this is how I tend to approach such lines in a race run it does have its negatives 1) it puts all your eggs in one basket. I have no idea if the line is still viable before I get there. For all i know it could be blown out or a new rock exposed /fallen on the trail 2) you need to be capable of concentrating on the line you are on and the line you are going to do in 2 corners time 😂 I've got 30 years of experience riding so , I've got a good idea of what I can and can't do. And can decide fairly readily mid-trail if conditions dont suit a line i can normally do ...... bikes got too much weight in mud sticking to it, tyres aren't gripping as much as I expect, I'm tiring quicker than expected, I'm more nervous than I should be .. I've already crashed and got mud on my grips etc. Sorry no short and easy answer there. And in this case I barely scraped it..... hence the jubilation in my voice when I cleared it . 😂

      It's usually a mix between me leading or my mate Steve. I would argue he's a better rider than me... certainly a lot smoother lines , but he won't mind me saying he despises any form of pedalling once the trail starts descending. I've not actually been back to Scolty since the storms , I know there's plenty of stuff back up and running but yeah... it won't ever be the same as before.

    Good vid. Understand what you're saying about posting footage, shame that some other channels seem to want to create something that essentially they are not. From what I've read here you wanted to post some footage for you and maybe a few folk to enjoy not have 100k subscribe so you get a TH-cam plaque. However unfortunately the pricks who drop litter and ruin trails will do that even if TH-cam isn't about. Anyway enjoyed you vids, some of the music 😂 Carry on enjoying and keep on moaning

      Cheers dude.. it started off trying to be something and failing miserably as I couldn't find my groove. Then covid came and I changed things for the better but still struggled to make things seamless. It was at this time the trails started getting a hiding from all the new riders and dumbfuckery that comes with being new to a sport...... and still is the case. I wanted to have some edits to watch when I get old and decrepit, the problem is as I get old and decrepit I get more grumpy and opinionated 😂. There's a lot of resentment and uninclusive thoughts in my head which wouldn't fly very far before being jumped on ...... and rightfully so! Everyone's got a right to join in. I'm not about shutting folk off, but for me to carry on contributing to stuff that makes me annoyed is just weird and hypocritical. I've absolutely loved doing the race edits though, so depending on if Chris Ball pulls his finger out and there's a Scottish Series next year hopefully there will be more race edits. Cheers for your support ❤

      Cheers man, been a wee while since yer last video. How's the gap jumping going?. This weather has been unreal. I bet Braefoot is a combo of concrete and dust the now? Hope you've been getting out enjoying it. For your gap jumping , try bunny hopping off everything with a lip and aiming for the backside of anything with a transition . Does not have to be big at all. Literally a off a root into another root or stone, a foot or 2 apart. or even bunnyhopping off the flat road into the downside of a kerb ramp. Once you get comfortable with doing that you'll start trying to do longer "pops" and that's basically you doing natural feature gaps .... and the exact same bio-mechanics as gap jumping off of lipped jumps, just with more vigour for the bunnyhop. You observation of how that young rider was jumping is spot on , some jumps it's literally just speed, but the steeper the lip then you absolutely have to start working the bike under you with a subtle up'n'over manoeuvre... exact same as popping low bunny hops over small trail features.

    • @clyneslines9596
      @clyneslines9596 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basically an in-between version of an American bunny hop and an English bunny hop. If you spend the next several rides grabbing every trail opportunity doing wee natural gaps you'll be confident in no time for "must clear" gaps..... and also be really tired 😅

      @@clyneslines9596 thanks for the advice mate, I really appreciate it! 😁👌 was at Braefoot on Tuesday my first time out on the bike for months, was great to get back out. It was very dusty but not too bad. I really must learn the American bunny hop, definitely seems to be the technique to help with jumping. Cheers mate. I look forward to seeing your next adventure. 😁🤙🤙🤙

      Nae bother to me Craig , ye Ken where to find Lewis Buchanan's and whoever else's vids that don't contain shite from my Hardrive. 😉 I've said it umpteen times before and I'll say it again, these vids are not for anyone bar me to watch - it's for when I'm old and decrepit. Music is extremely personal, so I get that what I like might sound horrific to another person ...... but believe you me my heavy breathing makes for far worse listening than some yesteryear punk band. I ain't changing so there's not a lot of point in complaining about it. Out of interest what music would you prefer to stick your head above the parapet with ?

      Cheers man , i appreciate that. Though I'm not sure if "riding" & "style" can be used together with me..... 😆 more "China shop" & "bull" comes to mind . But I do have energy. Lol . Doing these vids was an easy choice to do , but fuck me, they are not easy to compile. The hardest thing was finding my own groove without being boring as hell or too awkward.... the first year videos definitely fall into both those categories,🤣 .....I'm not so sure I'm much better now, just trying to avoid being another cookie cutter riding channel. Using music I like helps with that but I like some pretty weird and ugly music , so need to try and keep that in check. The great thing there though is rediscovering all these tunes in my back catalogue that I haven't heard in decades. 😁 Thanks for the cheery comment . 👍 happy riding dude.

    • @clyneslines9596
      @clyneslines9596 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's steeper but it's only a 1/3 rd as long , but what makes it fecking hard is the much tighter corners than on darkside .

    Definitely gonna have to get back up there soon to do this one, ended up doing that DD Gnar trail as well after seeing it in one of your other Pitlochry vids and it was a belter. So how do you find the start of this one? Is it just around the corner from the path into DD gnar etc?

    • @clyneslines9596
      @clyneslines9596 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aye easy to find ..... go past DDGnar , along forest Road follow it back down the hill, you'll pass 2cfallen trees, when it climbs again first passing place on left is where chicken jalfrezi is, next one is this new track , and 10ft to the right is a new entrance for the original conan's DH track . Won't take you 5 mins to get from DDGnar to this new one. Enjoy dude. Conditions are gonna be mint for next week or 2
