Something Obscene Company J Cape V4.0 Gecko Edition
Well, my 'Subvert has a heavy duty frame lock, not a liner lock.
i wish there was a stone washed blade option
Took me a solid 20 years of being a knife nut to finally get into Spyderco. I hated the look of them forever. Now….i can’t get enough of em. Like almost everyone that felt that way, I started with a PM2 and the rest was history.
Have you tried the Subvert. Biggest Spyderco surprise for me
Same here. I feel like the PM2 is the gateway knife to the world of wonder that is Spyderco.
Thanks
You can use 000 steel wool to remove the coating. Winkler suggests this if you prefer not having the coating. I think the steel is worth the money and more so because he grinds the blades before heat treatment, which is not a common practice. I own and carry a Blue Ridge Hunter. I do however think the Highland Hunter is the nicest one of the bunch. I was about to buy a General, and had one in my hand at Mast over the summer but I bought a Primitive Woodsman instead. I may grab a General this year though. But..... That Highland Hunter is just perfect!
What a Great Review! Thanks. Probably won't happen but I'm looking to treat myself to this exact model for Christmas 👍🏾
Thank you. Shoot me a message on instagram, I may be letting it go
Love my field knife. Now they are discontinued, they have sky rocketed in value.
lmao QSP Copperhead
They do look similar dont they? Not sure which came first
Beautiful knife. Thank you for the review. :) Greetings.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
You changed your user name!!!
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable Yes. It is my name and surname… :P
Just got mine today. And I must say it's a great knife. I love the action, the blade profile, the micarta is by far the best I've ever had on a knife, and it feels good in the hand as well. Not to mention it's a beautiful knife. Thanks for the video. It helped me with this purchase. I see an ACE Grand in my future as well.
It is an amazing knife for sure! And the Grand is just as awesome. I did dremmel the scale on the inside a bit to fit my fat fingers for lockbar access
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable yup. That information was very helpful and why I chose the Jutland first. Need an EDC good to go out of the box while I mess with the Grand haha. Thanks again!
I like the Sonoma design. I prefer the micarta versions and I’m tempted to sharpen the spine ahead of the jimping on one of them to make it more versatile...
I like the weight on the TI. On a folder, what do you use a sharp spine for?
Right on!.. The Micarta versions are well balanced at the index finger...I’m in habit of using the spines as scrapers like scraping the clear coat off axe handles, bark from sticks, gasket materials from engine parts to name a few...creating fatwood fluff most recently.
I swapped the satin ground blade and brass colored parts to my natural micarta knife. My green micarta knife now has the stone washed blade and titanium parts and is more my user.
It looks like the knife a lot of the Filipino knife martial arts use.
Im not familiar
I’ll buy this knife off you!
Contact me on instagram and we can definetly talk about it
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable I can’t fine you on instagram
A problem with a lot of reviews for this knife is that the knife is literally designed for skinning and field dressing; it's meant to be small. This is _not_ a bush crafting knife. He does mention this in this review, which is appreciated; but comparing it to an Esee 3/4/5 is not a like-for-like comparison.
Having said that, thanks for the review. It was still great to hear your opinion and see it sit on the table next to the Esee 3 and Para2 to get a feel for the size.
True. I bought if because many knives serve serveral functions. This is not one of them
The esse is also not a bushcraft knife though.
They're made in the mountains of NC
Thank you
I am looking for the aquatic now and the struggle is real
Its real! And expensive.
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable yeah it is
Beautiful collection! Bravo.
Thank You!!!
Just ordered a Jutland like this yesterday!
You will enjoy the heck out of it
WOW those are some gorgeous knives. I love that Cub River knife a lot.
Thank you! Its a great knife for sure
The drop point crusher is a better upgraded field knife.

It comes with a Kydex sheath with decent quality, I just hate Kydex

Nice grind.
I have a thing for compound grinds
Nice collection. Close to $2000 dollars in knives. 😁 you went with expensive handles. I dare say you have the collectors bug. Got get out and use those beauties. I see you prefer thick blades. I have the Bravo 1.25 in 3V which is a slimmer stock. But it takes a beating but is a slicer. How is the ergoes on the BRK Sentry? I have recently purchased an Iron River in Magnacut & for a pocket knife the ergoes are ok. It fills 4 fingers comfortably. To put it in perspective, the White River M1 Caper has the best ergoes of any neck or pocket knives for which I set as the bar to meets. See ya in the backwoods.
Thank You! I dont get to go out as much as I would like, probably 4 times a year. I do like blade that I can baton with, it is one of my primary uses. The ergos on the Sentry are decent for a large hand and great for a medium hand, its just a bit small around
Does the forward choil help or does it get in the way? that forward choil seems pointless. The handle is already large enough to accommodate a full hand and the handle has it's own choil. Might as well just have the blade edge go all the way up to the handle.
Wow such a thorough and thoughtful review. Really liked the way you explained your thoughts on these knives.
Hey! Thank yoi so much, glad you liked it and found it useful!
I really like the bark river sheath I carry mine every single day you just have to put the knife in the sheath and leave it there The leather will mold around the knife. It’s a little bulky at first, but it breaks in very nicely.
I think their sheaths are very well made, I just like them contoured to the knife. In ither words, the sheath ends in a point not a square
Hey, I really appreciate the video, and you had great points! just to adress the sheath design, I tried to design it as small as possible so it would be as easy to carry and get lost in the pocket as possible, so thats why I dont do a ramp on the spine. It is designed to be opened by putting the thumb on the plane where my logo is. That being said, I as a sole maker of this I must take in to consideration how users acctualy use the things I make, and your points are more then valid. Also I have some costumers who make aftermaket leather sheaths for these! I feel like most of the people have very bad experience with N690, as they encountered too soft, gummy, hard to sharpend (hard to remove the burr) and easily dulliung mass produced N690. I harden mine to 61-62HRC, and I love it, it stays sharp, its very stainless, irs easy to sharpen, that is all I want in a working knife. The Angis and the bigger knife (Varnas) both are available in N690 and Elmax for people who want high end steels.
Looking forward to checking out your Varnas in Elmax
It’s more of a feedback to me rather than review, but still much appreciated. I’m really surprised thou how calmly you describing this beast 😊 Have you sharpened it already? Would like to hear your thoughts on m390. Cheers
The Ultratech is the "standard" size in the Microtech lineup. Its hard to describe it as a beast when I know that something like the combat troodon or the halo is out there. Dont get me wrong its a "beast of a knife" for sure, its just in the context of microtech, they make at least 5 larger OTFs
Yes, you SHOULD sell it to me immediately. Great idea!!! Lol

Wooow!!! God damn it, this Hinderer is incredible and unique!
Thank you. I still cant believe I snagged it
This is such a descriptive review of winkler knives that most knife don’t reviewers understand. Thx for the meticulous explanation, especially explaining the way he grinds his blade before heating it. I have never understood this, hopefully I said this correctly. Thanks again!
Thank you for the kind words! And yes, you said it correctly
I just bought one. Very nice knive.
You will not regret it!
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable thanks.
Please sell me the Satori or Snafu. Rassenti is & always has been my favorite designer and I’ve never been able to get my hands on one lol. His original custom integral model blew me away years & years ago and is the entire reason I got into collecting.

Does anyone know who the OEM of the CKFs is?
I am not certain. Ive looked but could not find the information
Adamas is maybe benchmade's best product line imo. Choices are cruwear and magnacut at an optimal 63-65 hrc and it's somehow their least expensive despite being more knife.
I would agree on the Adamas line. The Mini Adamas is Benchmades bes folder IMO
@@KnivesoftheRoundTable Got mine in black. Looking to get the magnacut and cf, planning around a demko ad20.
Personally I don't think its worth it to get a S90v blade over the S30v. I have both steels in other knives, yes you will have to sharpen the s30v more often but its also a bit easier to sharpen too. I have this knife in the s30v also and do like the sheath too.Very nice review.
Thank you. I can see someone preferring the S30v version.
Amazing looking knife
Its awesome and a beast. Very much ToddBegg
I like your Spyderco collection. The PM 2 Tanto looks really nice.
Thank you! Its been a challenge with some of those
Beautiful! A must have. Let the saving, and hunting, begin. This brand is a Unicorn in my country (Australia)
Its a great one for sure!
Another excellent video Marco.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
I'd argue that a flat blade like that might make it possible to retain a knife in hand while drawing and firing a pistol. It's why I bought the MDV Plus One.
Cant argue with that use
To my knowledge, creely keeps everything in state even the precision series. I love my mako
