@@henrymacarthur I'm using the original Xbox Duke Controller with the USB adapter to play this game. It works really well. I've always been a fan of the OG Xbox Controller even though many didn't like it.

The Duke controller!? Such a big thing! 😁 I'm currently using the Xbox One controller on my PC. But I keep switching to the PS4 controller, depending on the game. Or I play with a mouse and keyboard.

Oh yes. With today's technology, there should definitely be a new Templar game.

It's fun to play, even if the gameplay is a bit stiff. I'm not sure about official sources. There aren't any, but google will find the right place where you can get the game. 🤐 I've owned the disc version since it was released. 😎

@@sorryforbother Oh right, you can actually play this game with modern PC on Windows 11 using a Windows98 emulator called PCem; That's what I'm using to play this game now. You should give it a shot. It's pretty easy to get it setup and once you do, you can run any old games from the 90s era through it without any issues.

I'm happy for you that you found the game again and are enjoying the nostalgia trip as much as many others here. Just immerse yourself in the beautiful memories from back then. 👍

Drakan is still fun today with the nostalgic feeling. But there will never be a remake. 😥 The fan base is too small for that and who knows who owns the rights to the game. I never warmed to Giana Sisters. But hey, I'm glad you're enjoying the game. 😃

Some never finished the game. I played it through several times back then. I just thought the game was great back then! And a remake today would be much better with high-end graphics and adapted gameplay. 😍

I'll put some instructions here that helped me. I made a note of something at the time. Unfortunately I don't know where from. After trying it out several times, it worked for me and Drakan ran. 1. Copy Drakan from CD to hard drive or create an ISO file. Mount the ISO file from Drakan (e.g. with Virtual CloneDrive). 1.1. Unpack the data1.cab file in the Setup folder (e.g. with Universal Extractor). data1.cab can be unpacked into any directory. It is best to name the folder Drakan. 2. Unzip the data1.cab file from the official patch 445. Here also in any directory. Order best call Drakan Patch445. 2.1. Copy files from the Drakan Patch445 folder to the Drakan folder. Overwrite all files when prompted by Windows. 3. Install the "Drakan 10th Annivasery Mod" community patch. 3.1. Start Mod Luncher. Leave the settings as they are or try out which shaders should be set how. 3.2. Start Drakan via Mod Luncher and Drakan will run. Drakan also runs via the normal Drakan.exe file. I set the compatibility mode to run as admin.

Apart from that, I think it's a shame that there isn't a sequel. I understood the ending to mean that the developers were hoping to develop a sequel. It has not and will never come to that. There is probably a main villain, in another dimension or in another place in this world. This main villain observed all the events in the game through the mirrors. Maybe even commanded and directed the enemies with the help of the mirrors!? This unknown villain might have been the enemy we would have had to fight in a sequel. But who knows that. This question remains forever unsolved. 😭

It’s too bad. They just don’t make games like they used to. I remember this being one of my favorite games to just play and relax, while enjoying a good story along the way.

@@henrymacarthur They did make a sequel for the PS2 Drakan the Ancients' Gates, but it doesn't really clear up what the mirror means, this game sort of ended abruptly

The game is a great game then as it is now. There is a lot of nosatalgia about the game today. You never caught up on playing the game again and finishing it?

Many would certainly say that Lara Croft would be the strongest female character. I think Rynn is a little bit stronger. I mean, hey, she slashes through enemies with a sword and rides a dragon!

Someone should really revisit this idea and bring it back for future games. Yes, plenty of recent "dragon games", but they're all either flight combat (like Reign of Fire) or very limited in which stage/map you can use your dragon. Imagine a Witcher 3 levels of open world game, but where you can whistle at ANY TIME so your dragon lands beside you, and you can fly and land ANYWHERE on the entire world freely! No checkpoints, no choosing a specific fast travel, just you and your dragon, flying as free as Wander and Agro and able to land on _any_ random dpot on the map. Literally, the sky is the limit!

It was and still is a good game. I had a lot of fun playing after so many years. Looking back, where before as a child you all shuddered. Ok, I still find the queen of succubus creepy then and now. 😂

Reading the comments on Drakan, it's a favorite game for many. I can understand. Not up to date? How do you mean that? The PC you use is much older than the game Drakan? If that's the case then your PC is very robust after all these years of still running. 😀

No, he was about to say that he can't play Drakan on the newer PC, I would love if anyone can explain the way to play it on new PC's

It's a very good Star Wars game. Although the Jedi Knight triology is one of my favorite Star Wars games forever, especially Jedi Outcast. Such a cool game. 😍

I really enjoyed playing Drakan again after so many years. What I read in the comments here, a lot of people have good memories of the game, just like you and me. 😊
