Congratulations on the Nutcracker. I am performing in Nutcracker for the 2nd time as a party parent.

5th year adult ballet student. I take class at a small dance studio and also at a pre professional ballet school. I have also had the opportunity to attend rehearsals in both settings and the vibes are different in a good way.

So is your Nutcracker in the shape of a vibrator? Then say you’ll be performing in the Nutcracker as opposed to doing the nutcracker. It’s also been only 4 years and not 5 since you were involved in ballet full time. At this point and time also taking into account of the time you’ve been away from it. You should really manage your expectations of what you should realistically expect from your body. You don’t have the harden battle tested body you would’ve had you been taking classes regularly. This ankle issue is minor, but if you’re not icing it, and keep pushing through the pain. You just might do something more drastic to it. Just back off the pedal a bit, to allow it to recover. It rackets have always been a fun way to enjoy the holiday season, and getting paid for it as well was the cherry on the sundae. I had taken a break from performing for a few years, but was still taking classes, so when I realized I was missing out by not performing during this time of the year. I contacted people to of the companies I had performed with of my availability. They said, come in and take class, and we’ll go from there. Being a male dancers, there’s always a need for them at various roles. So you say you’re a teacher, but teaching what and which grade or level. Eating and staying hydrated is what you should be focusing on to get through this show run, without feeling burnt out at the end. Ballet has been an integral of your life, so after this show and the rest of your life. Keep taking classes. It’s what will push back the aging process out of everything you’ll do in life. Not for anything else, but for the joy it brings to your mind, body and inner spirit of being whole.

As someone still at the beginning of my career and figuring out how to pursue ballet without losing myself in it this was such an uplifting video! Thank you for sharing your journey and I hope you have a blast performing :)

Sewing pointe shoes too!🩰 I’m also getting back onstage after a four year hiatus and this video is very relatable! I’m constantly worried about all of the things you mentioned too but I’m also trying to enjoy it and know that I auditioned and worked really hard for this. Our bodies know what to do we just need to guide them back to that shape. We’ve got this!🩷
