TV as a media rarely produces great art of it's own doing. Season 1 was not just great TV, nope, this was great art, transcendent in all ways. Once in a generation do we get to witness perfection and this was our perfection.

Masterpiece

ive been trying to wrap my mind more about what Carcosa is. I know it is a where, but i want to understand more about the meaning. every time i look it up i get the same definition. it being a fictional place in a writer book. i dont know why but i just want to understand more about it because in the show its just a name and a scary location in the end of the show. ill probably have to read the book to understand more about the yellow king & Carcosa

I’ve watched season one 3 times. Did not finish season two. Watched season 3 and while no comparison to season one (what is?), it was very watchable. It found a groove

Not much I would change about this masterpiece, its so fucking perfect. Maybe I'm thinking i would have liked it if Rust hadn't screwed Marty's wife. And if he was going to, maybe not drill her up the butt. I guess it fits for his character to make her regret her choice. Also maybe the end. Rust was out of his mind and not thinking clearly. I would like to have seen him be the same weird agnostic raging motherfucker I grew to love.

Amazin show that delivers in some episodes what other tv shows deliver in several seasons... I remember being totally bored watching the first 3 episodes of Breaking Bad, I considered it a waste of my time and stop watching just to realize that it turned out to be an excellent series, too late for me, stopped caring... In TD youre caught in the first minutes and never released until the very end. Maybe one of the greatest thrillers in history

I wish they stuck with the Lovecraft/Robert Chambers angle. I'm hoping that it will be going back to the world of cosmic / psychological mystery in the third season. Don't spoil it for me, but I'm seeing a lot of influence from the West Memphis 3. My admittedly wishful expectation after watching the first episode, is that the actual killer or killers in season 3, are in someway connected to the Carcosa cult of the first season. I'm probably gonna be disappointed, but fuck it a man can dream.

The first season of this series is on another level.

At 36 with 2 children. There's not many things in my life that I can say that I've fully believed in since I was a teenager, through my 20s, and halfway through my 30s, and that is that anyone who abuses and/or molest a child deserves a penalty that we, as modern society, will not enforce. Suicide by the one who conducted the abuse is the only true action in order to receive any kind of penance. I hope if there is such a place as heaven they wouldn't be there but either way....they've lost all rights to THIS life.

As someone who's never been South of Cincinnati, I imagine this kind of stuff happens in Louisiana all the time

Do people really love the ending as much as everything else? I can't help but feel like the ending was far too fast paced, given the build up to the character, but its probably simply due to how compelling the story was leading up to it that it just couldn't help but be a let down for me. I really adored the cultish thing, especially the connections to the horror novel theme, and for him to just be a regular person living in a run down shack like that, outside of a... what was that exactly? Looks like some ancient ruins, which makes no sense to exist where they are located. Almost makes me feel like the "carcosa" thing was lifted and placed in the story to confuse the watcher more than elucidate the character. Didn't really satisfy me, and I think it was easily fixable with just a few different details. But it doesn't matter. The story was about Rust and Marty, and that was the best story I have ever seen told on Television.
