This video needs some HEAVY editing. I think there are some good thoughts here but I am too distracted and annoyed by all the wasted time. 😩

There is a 1907 book called the Law of Financial Success by Edward Beals. It reads like Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich or Hill's Law of Success which was 1928. The ideas in these books get borrowed and recycled over and over again. As well as the titles. Pushing to the Front by Orison Swett Marden was inspired by the book Self-Help by Samuel Smiles. And I guess the grandfather of all these self help authors was Benjamin Franklin the first American self help guru. The power of thought goes back to the ancient Greek Sages and the Bible and the Buddha and the Vedas and so many other timeless sources. There is always an audience for self-help books.

love your podcasts/ videos , but curious to know how you record such a good sound. are you recording each on your side then you merge the recordings when editing the video?

I feel like Joe is butthurt that Duolingo is not that good of a strategy if you want to learn a language. Their criticism is alright, but I believe the a lot if not all the principles in the book can be used to learn anything over longer periods of time.

Such a great podcast, you guys rock. Going slow with how the book delivers its message. This is actually quite good when a listener aims to get the "heart" of a book. Good job.

Keeping a conversation going is a very hard thing for many of us. In my case, I wonder to see many methods that this book described, that I had to develop on my own for past several years. Also many methods, such as "praising others - nonobvious" - new for me. I went to Toastmasters/Pathways, but it could not help me in this subtle context: which is general conversations (I respect the Toastmasters community, I made good friends). Sometimes, My wife helped me with my conversations. When I get nervous I do blunt mistakes. Rather keep quite instantly after realizing the mistake. I regret it for several days. I missed many opportunities to build relationships as my conversations holds-off the scale of other person/people. Though, I agree everyone has their scale but I could not help myself. After reading this book, I feel I need not be super proficient with Witty Banter all the time, but at least I know the opposite person's intentions and worries on the empathy context. This book could help me. Example: I wish to send this book back in time to my younger self 😀 .. Instead, I could have read this book a few years back. With practice, I could also conversate with a person who is extremely good at Witty Banter, like TV hosts, etc. Unless we don't bookmark a method as manipulative, our subconscious picks up the right method or tool when the need comes. During conversations like a lightning bolt, idea flows and things come easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. thank you Mike & Joe Raghu's Rating: 4.5

Hey, I think you are missing the picture in what I've heard of your audio. Of course he needs to talk about his life if you want to understand the ideas he shares. Its not pure coincidence some people get to do what they do, science has proven us that the context and the way people grew shaped their thinking and doing. So I think you need to update yourself so as not to fall in the judgement of someone being "over themselves" when the true message of the book is reached through what the context of his life was. My point is, people don't just popup solutions or inventions from the emptiness, its a result of the aggregate of their life experiences.
