Sounds like coping - ultimately, watch apparentlyjacks (top 10 pro) video on improvement mentality - he states very sternly that mechanics are the most important factor to get better long term! Also if u did have pro positional awareness you would be in a higher rank, even if u had no mechs

I appreciate the advice. Unfortunately, this is a comment that I have gotten in one way, or another, more times than I can count. I was born with a cleft palate so it makes me sound more nasally than most. There isn't really anything that can be done to change that. It's kinda just the way it is sadly

Yeah, it feels like the mid to high diamond area is a big problem area for that. I wish there was some easy fix for it, but the only thing you can really do is try to learn from those situations (it sucks I know), and just hope that they don't pop up too consistently. How often would you say you've seen confirmed smurfs?

Probably like every 1 out of 4 games. I also go on rl tracker to really confirm that are in fact smurfing

@Sheep_RL-x7l Im not denying smurfs - but in my experience its more like <1/15 - some diamonds have very good mechanics and pose as smurfs but they are just stupid!!

It's definitely a tough skill to master. Especially if your opponents are organized on defense. The biggest challenge is probably getting around 1 challenge by playing the ball somewhere where you can get back in control before you get challenged again. Some very precise mechanical skill needed to maintain control at a high level for sure. I've found the best thing to do is have eyes on where an initial challenge is coming from, and just focus on beating that challenge by playing the ball to open space so that you can get back to it, or to a teammate

Are you EU servers? I was thinking this looks more like play/D1 for us lol

I actually did a video a while back where I played on EU servers for a week, and I can definitely see this thought process. I'm up in GC, but EU players just feel faster and more controlled than players in NA. it definitely felt like I was playing tougher competition

@@horiz0n_rl oh, i will defo go check that out! well i can send you some gameplay of mine so you could compare it. there‘s no thought process, it seems to just be like that😬 i mean they airdribble, flip reset and know the game at D2-3

@@Foefii yeah for sure, the skill level is insane, I've scraped getting champ rewards for like 7 seasons but it's by the skin of my teeth..it doesn't help that diamond is riddled with smurfs aswell

@horiz0n_rl I'm not surprised, but personally I've never been there. There's not a greater humiliation than feeling the confidence that you can make that backboard clear just to own goal.

It's honestly hilarious how often things like this happen up in GC. With more confidence, comes more horrible moments lol
