At small scale, building your own it doesn't make sense.. but at larger sizes

Especially with so many prepackaged solar kits in the market.

Bypass diodes are today very often built into panels. But for parallel config you have to add a serial diode for each panel. Otherwise when you shade one panel, other will feed power into it and it can even catch on fire. Also remember current rating of mc4 connectors. Everything more than 2-3p would require custom connectors as mc4 will not handle such current and do guess what… yep, catch on fire. Doing PV wiring you have to knowcwgat you are doing otherwise you might risk your life and even other lives… beware.

An important thing to bring up that gets left out a lot is the temperature coefficient. The configuration at 1:30 WILL NOT fly in areas with very cold weather as the open circuit voltage will exceed 150v after considering the temperature coefficient. If you live up north it's important to assume that OC voltage could be 20% higher in very cold weather.

why should it better? The results are very smal.

For series use diode in receivers polarity to each penal across so only one penal bypass who have shadow or choose right penals for series.

Parallel is also affected by voltage drop on each panel, but in series only one panel is affected. This is mostly important on longer distance. Series also charge way earlier and way later in the day. When my panels hit 5-6v charging starts because i have many in serie. Heck u can start the toaster on solar before i can even see the sun in the morning.

Might be possible. But could IT be only the result of the specifics of the vigtron, how many DC IT needs to start. could another victron with a lower DC starting Point, get the Same early Watt? belong to your Point, seriell has everytime longer Produktion an everytime Higher voltage during the day, so it must get at least 5% more Power a day. But then, Nobody would Talk about parallel ... Have you a Video where IT is real compared. i havent Install my system yet, so i have perhaps dammed questions. Sorry ! i' m looking Overall for a real decicision.

In my experience, when charging multiple batteries for off grid applications, I am going with the high current setup. For example; a 48vdc lithium battery can draw 15-20 amps of current Depending on SOC. So , if I have 4 batteries in parallel, I have the potential to draw 60- 80 amps of current. This does not include the current draw from the inverter while powering other loads on the inverter.

Good video but your missing the temperature consideration which can drastically change your voltage.

Temperature affects current more than it does affect Voltage. That is why using a lower gauge wire for a high current parallel connection will cause a rise in temperature of the wire and may eventually cause fire but voltages do not cause any rise in wire temperature.

@@rickymayne2298 You must live in a warm climate yes high temperature effects the amps but low temperature say -30f effects the voltage in extreme ways and burns out Mppt.
