I like my subaru xv but ive had alot of problems with the battery, my car is less than 4 year old and its on its 5th battery

Had a 2004 Peugeot 307, was an ok car Age was what let it down, repairs cost more than car was worth

I bought a 2014 Ford kuga and its the worst car ive ever owned. Only get 3yrs out of a battery because of the stupid lights that stay on ALWAYS when the rear door is open. Then there's the auto trans which is as strong as a wet paper bag. Its now worth parts only as a new trans is $12 -$14k or a recon $9-11k but few will touch them, too complicated and problematic. And l believe it because even ford dealerships wont touch their own transmissions. F*** you ford🖕

I have a 2019 Opel Astra K. I Have owned at least 15 cars in my life time but never have I had a car where an manual gearbox has failed! 80tkm driven and the car started juddering on a reverse gear. Well Länsiauto Vantaa, Finland repaired the gearbox with no cost due to warranty bought buy previous owner. Opel on paska!

Although you mentioned Renault , they werent actually on the list. Also Peugot were on the list but Citroen, their sister company weren't on the list.Also I was surprised that the other French company which is an off shoot of Renault wasnt on the list. Dacia.

What does Rubbisheist mean in English? I have owned many reliable Vauxhalls, one very unreliable Mazda 6 and currently own one of my most reliable cars in fifty plus years of motoring. It is a 2017 Jaguar XF and there are very few vehicles on the market that I would swap it for - looks, runs and drives so well.

I own a Ford Tourneo and I cannot wait to replace it in November with a new Dacia.

Sad to see Jaguar here but can confirm. I have a x260 XF and it's less reliable than my first car which was a 35 year old Golf that had been throught a lot of pain and suffering.

Well I have to say I've been extremely 'lucky' in my car purchases since 1984 when I bought the Mk1 Astra 2 door 1.3 petrol hatch second hand. Since then I have bought every mark, all second hand, from diesels to petrol, hatchback and estates, manual and to date, mk 8 auto, all second hand, some lasting over 130,000 miles and none have ever broken down. Sure, the mark 7 estate 1600 petrol estate did have a couple of minor issues, like the coil pack failing but all the others, over a timescale of 40 years, have been very reliable. I would suggest that because these cars are relatively cheap, people just get in and drive and haven't given a thought to regular maintenance. My latest will probably be my last car though. I usually own mine for about 10 years.

I expected Renault there. Not expected BMW and good that I didn't see it. May be only my experience but 520d from new to 150k miles so far only needed air cushions replaced due to wear. Shame the new ones have batteries up their jacksie 😂

As an American who owns a Honda and a Toyota, I think your presentation is spot on.

Toyota is the best. Mine is 15 years old, 210K km's, only thing that failed was the bulb of the number plate lighting

I listened confidently that my favourite makes would not appear on the list, Lexus and Toyota. But, you cannot stick with them or you will get bored, yes bored to tears. Variety is the spice of life. Sooner or later you have to sell the best car in the world and venture forth come what may.

I guess that Ford were catapulted further up this list in both the US and Europe because of their notorious 'Eco Boom' engines. They are disasters just waiting to happen!!

Save money by filling (virtually useless) tech with cheapo chinese electrics and this is the result! Merc etc............ Worse - buying chinese cars full of the junk in the first place. About as daft as fitting increasingly huge wheels with thinner and thinner tyres. Autocar ran an article where tester had bought an old Triumph TR7 clunker. Amazed himself by finding this old solid axle thing had a better ride than any modern car he had driven for years. A TR7!! Still the numbnuts queue up to buy them.

Remember the late 70s when Jag's were so unreliable that there was a saying... "You need two to keep one on the road"! A time when workers and management of UK manufacturers were bickering a lot... In Australia we got a design just for us - the Leyland P76. Drove well and you could fit a 44 gallon drum in the boot. Build quality was so bad they ended up closing the factory...

How can people be angry on hearing the truth about the car brand they have? I would understand if the owners were sponsered and paid to smile and pretend they love their car but in fact they are getting screwed over by the manufacturer and they LOVE it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ford USA stopped selling the Crown Vic to the general public in the late Noughties. Production lasted until 2012 but exclusively for police and taxi fleets. The last batch off the production line was to fulfil an order from the Saudi police force in 2013. American police vary from place to place but the Crown Vic was largely replaced by SUVs, particularly the Ford Explorer in its Police Interceptor Utility guise. In Australia with our luxury car tax ( over 40k pounds ) this thing cost A$435k or around 200k pounds. back in 2004 about the cost of a house in a cheap neighbourhood.

Jeeps have been garbage since the 80's with the advent of the wrangler.

My father bought a brand new Jeep Scrambler (Gladiator today) in 1981. Biggest POS he or I ever owned. Jeep was owned by AMC then, who was somehow connected with Renault before Chrysler bought them. They only thing that didn't break was the GM made engine.

Jeep unreliability has destroyed its saled here in Australia. It's almost gone.

Surprised about Nissan 🇦🇺. My 2014 Thai-built Nissan Pulsar is still reliable. My son was so impressed he bought a middle-aged Nissan SUV which has so far given him several years of reliable driving. Perhaps the Thai built Nissans are better made.

Nissan was the only one that surprised me.

Nissan is now owned by Renault, and the company has been hosting more problems every year since the purchase.

I am in South Africa and own a 2009 Volvo XC60 3.0T AWD with 172 000 km on the clock. Extremely heavy on petrol if you use it as a daily commuter, but I use mine only for holidays with trips varying between 250 and 1300 kms. It's not too bad, consumption-wise, on long trips. Other than that, it's without question the best car I've owned and the performance is sports car level.

I had an Alfa Romeo long ago. It provided me with 21/2 years of mostly misery, with a few heavenly moments when it worked, which was very rarely. It was very unreliable and would cease to function without warning leaving immobile on a major highway .

Any car manufacturer has the ability to build reliable cars, but it is where they are positioned in the economics of it and what their brand offers to what segment of the buying public,at the end of the day they have to make money! Toyota as an example has the proud Japanese culture behind it , American and European cars are highjacked by the profit first quality secondary approach of the materialistic capitalist west but it is more complex than that , Toyota has a feeling of boringness about them, because they avoid innovation, innovation is full of snags that need to be ironed out now Toyota has declared war against boring cars by making aesthetically wild designs that are over the top to the point of looking weird!! But Toyotas are solid cars no doubt!

You are right Nissan is now linked to Renault, they are using Renault bits thats why they are now cr@p, Im surprised VW isn't on the list though.

The list is very predictable, perhaps Vauxhall is a bit of a surprise but the rest are quite predictable, who would buy any of these? I like Alfa romeos, and I did't have any problems with several I owned, but i suppose they are a bit unreliable on average.

Can't agree with you more about Mercedes' fall from grace. I remember in the 80s Mercedes were the most reliable, longest lasting, safest, Most technically advanced, highest customer satisfaction of any car brand. I read every car magazine from the US and UK and they always mentioned Mercedes bank vault characteristics or bullet proof, resale value etc etc. I also remember a Subaru commercial that used to brag about being #2 in customer satisfaction our behind Mercedes Benz. I think Mercedes has moved down market too much and it seems to coincide with Lexus appearing on the stage. I believe they started cutting costs to compete.

Just by skoda or Japanese. Everything else is crap
