New piece every Friday or Saturday
Querencia
Winter ambient thingy... trying to be a bit more inventive with my titles/visuals. Querencia is a really beautiful Spanish word/concept I came across recently that describes the feeling of home, the desire or tendency to return home, or just a strong emotional pull towards something or someone.

Music was kinda inspired by the brooding, gothic vibes of the new Nosferatu trailer. Couldn’t find a visual to match though so I went for a more psychological angle. Visual: pixabay.com/photos/breakwater-sea-fog-wooden-man-6017041/

Visual is a classic creepypasta image. I used this image for the eyes uk.pinterest.com/pin/294282156918421028/ and took the smile from another one. The pic has been iterated like a billion times so idk who owns it.

Sup, this one was supposed to go up on Friday but I wasn't happy with and ended up rewriting it several times. The goal atm is to upload every Friday but I guess we're not there yet. Oh well, enjoy! Visual: www.pexels.com/photo/a-person-walking-on-the-snow-covered-ground-10277765/

Hey, so this will be the last of the edits. I get that these uploads are a little cheap but I'm planning on focusing on shorter content from now on and didn't like the idea that the sheer length of some of these pieces scared listeners off.

what is the name of the music?
@@КотМихалач Cold Silence, I wrote it ;)
I like the overall quality of the sound/mix - it really gives it complexity.
Ayo, is this on Spotify?
Hey thanks for asking. Not yet I'm afraid, I am planning on putting most of my stuff up on Spotify eventually but I wanna sort out a name/branding for myself first. I'll try to remember to let you know when I make the move.
next stage whats oracle saying)
perfect soundtrack for terrifying emptyness of modern society
Silent hill typa song
Yeh, when it comes to vibes, Silent Hill is the goat for me haha. Always a big inspiration.
Ah sounds like what i feel each day
Thanks? I mean the piece is pretty moody so… I hope you’re doing okay. Thanks either way though, I was quite proud of this piece but it didn’t seem to be getting much love. I’m glad it connected with you in some way, knowing that is very inspiring for me.
Tank you. Well done!
Thank YOU!
The other week I was planning a session for a table top game called Kids on Bikes (think DnD but not that) I scoured all over TH-cam looking for the perfect winter atmosphere that evoked a very specific feeling and I was genuinely struggling to find what I wanted on Spotify and TH-cam. Until i stumbled on your channel. Now I get a smirk on my face every time you post cause it means another piece to add to the growing playlist. So I just wanted to thank you and tell you that your work is being put to good use.
Wow, thank you so much that really means a lot! Hope you enjoy your game haha!
@ I’m a DM for my group, which is the person who dictates the world, lore, NPC’s…etc as I guide players through the story. It was my first time doing it ever and writing for it, so I was understandably nervous and had to stand for the whole session which lasted 4 hours. I was tired by the end of it. Yet when we were done for the night the entire table stood and clapped for me as everybody enjoyed it immensely. Bringing joy, bringing them art like that in such a close and intimate environment and getting praise for it. While it being the first time I’ve ever shown off my writing like that felt good. I saw your most recent video and realised that you played a part in that and since this channel is smaller it has frankly the immense benefit of me being able to thank you personally So i wanted to let you know you played a part in not only bringing me satisfaction but an entire table of 7 other people joy too. I’ve already saved this song to a playlist with others like it along with a bunch of others from your channel.
@@spacetoastjam7656 That's awesome man, sounds like you're a natural! I'm glad you all had a great time and that my stuff helped to make that happen. I can deeply relate to that feeling of pride when bringing joy to others cause that's how I feel when I read comments like yours. Also, if it's of any interest I've been considering doing hour long versions of some pieces, I've just been hesitant cause I don't wanna waste peoples time with stuff that's longer than it needs to be. However, if you have a favourite piece and think you might have use for a longer version then let me know and I can do that. All the best!
@ I won’t lie to you, I think worrying about making longer videos is a little silly considering there are videos on TH-cam that are compiled playlists that are multiple hours long. I will get back to you on which is my favourite though because I’ve saved around 4 to 5 videos so far but I haven’t gone through your entire catalogue yet. In fact it was through the recommended tab of a “Silent Hill inspired Ambience playlist” that was long and was nailing the vibe I was going for as well. It was there that I was able to find one of your videos in the recommended tab, it was the “Coldest night” thumbnail that stuck out to me, captured the mood I was looking for. So I checked out your channel and found more songs that were exactly what i was looking for too. Lots of AI slop being put on the platform nowadays so I was glad to see a welcome video to the channel. Gave me confidence that I wasn’t using AI assisted work.
@@spacetoastjam7656 Cool thanks, that was kinda my reasoning too. I just wasn't sure about my chances on getting on those playlists haha. My whole catalogue is quite varied. In fact that's one of my concerns atm; I experiment quite a lot and I think the lack of consistency in style kinda puts people off. The short Lost in Thoughts, Velocity 0 and this latest one are pretty easy bets if I get the vibe you're after. Might be worth checking out Cold Silence and Distorted Thoughts too... bit of a wilderness after that though. I keep trying to sort things into playlists but there's always a few outliers. Also if you haven't checked them out already then you might like artists like Antent, Oneheart and Azure as they do some similar stuff. They're pretty big inspirations of mine. What, one of my videos was in a Silent Hill playlist? I guess that's fair, I do love that vibe (although I try to be less blatant about it than some other channels I could mention). Also what? Coldest Night thumbnail... do you mean Cold Silence? Yeah, if I just wanted subs then there are certainly easier ways to get them than this. I know I could just upload lazy rubbish everyday or use AI but I'm here to make the music/art that I wanna make and that's the most important thing to me. Idk... maybe it's childish to have integrity on TH-cam these days lol.
I really love this ambient music 🎶 ❤
Facts. It's really soothing
The image is called A Person Walking on the Snow-Covered Ground and it's by Ian lavrinovich if you search for either of those in Pexels you should find it without much trouble. I use Logic, the basis of that piano sound is a preset called 'Under' from Ignition Keys by Native Instruments. Musically the piece is in F minor. There's a strong melodic focus though on C (the 5th of the key) which for me gives it an unresolved feeling. There's also an F drone/pedal going on for most of it which adds to the atmosphere. I also didn't want it to sound too much like generic sad piano music so I switch up the texture to something more chorale-like around the middle, I also start introducing a B natural/#4 which might imply C minor but the focus on F is still very strong so it ends up sounding more like F but with a raised 4th which gives it a slightly well... unusual sound, how you define that sound it up to you. Personally I get Satie vibes from it haha! Hope this helps (and translates okay), if the musical stuff is too technical please let me know.
@@StalkerMexF Gotcha. Well probably the main thing for me is that I do a shit ton of listening and over time this has enabled me to internalise a lot about how different moods are created in music. But it's also important to stay curious and keep experimenting to stop your work from becoming derivative or unoriginal. Also thanks, I'll check that piece out. I'm actually looking for a community of like-minded artists online so these suggestions are very helpful.

Wow! This piece is really good. It speaks of a character reaching his 'highest' peak in development in the journey...Is it possible to use in a video game? I need to give you credit or something? Anything? Thanks.
Thanks man, yeh of course you can use it. I can send the original audio file to your email if you like. If you just link my channel or something that'd be lovely, all the best with the game!
Aha, that surprised me

The sound is so atmospheric and the connection between it and the visual is awesome! One of the most powerful pieces I have ever heard or seen. Play it LOUD and don't look away!
Saudades da garoa de São Paulo.

You ever just scrape a chalkboard with your nails for the hell of it. Keep up the great work 🙂
wait, is this using the rulers on the piano?
ofc bro, if u wanna buy me a chalkboard for my birthday i'll write u a piece ;)
@@Spathaky1 Nah just a logic synth called alien strings combined with some normal string sounds. Gotta be careful using acoustic instruments cause they usually sounds like crap unless you shell out for them. Personally I'd rather shell out to do a masters than shell out to buy a virtual orchestra XD
This a vibe . Listening to this at 5:29 am while i commute to work 🔥

💪🏽👍top!
Thanks man, much appreciated!
I genuinely believe this is what it would sound like underwater
Like I don't think I could associate this sound with something else
@@Spathaky1 Haha yeh, well I was just interested in the idea of generating white noise and using an eq to pick out certain frequencies and recreating pieces that way. I actually expected more of the white noise to be preserved so it would sound kinda ghostly but instead it sounded VERY "underwatery", I'm sure there's some scientific explanation for that... the lack of overtones n stuff, idk... Also Panis was originally for cello, harp, choir and organ which is a lot more texturally involved that the previous two pieces I've done, so recreating that with one quite limited sound was a challenge.
absolutely stunning
This is one i like it so much.👍
Too bad it's a bit too sad. But well, not everyone has to like it.
@@ramonmedina1974 yeh, just sounded kinda apocalyptic to me idk haha (Also excellent point with the "not everyone has to like it". When I started this channel I decided that I wouldn't be chasing views at all cause this would effectively put the "success" of the channel in the hands of others. Instead my goal is to create the art that I want to make to the best of my ability, this way the "success" remains in my hands. So while I'd love for people to listen, if a piece that I am happy with only gets 5 views, I don't really mind. I am happy with what I made.)
Yes you are right.I like "lost in Thought" so much. More like these. Thank you for your work! @@teacake_94
@@ramonmedina1974 You’re very welcome. I can’t promise to exclusively produce content like Lost in Thought but it is a style that I’m sure will be common on the channel for a long time to come.
Wow. I love the way it's structured. 37:00 onwards is fire!!!
@@finleyspathaky7226 Thanks for listening that far haha, was a right b**** to mix tho I’ll tell ya! There's a series of long pieces that I'm planning on doing but I might be keeping them shorter in general after that. Longer pieces are just such a pain to check cause you keep having to listen back to the whole bloody thing (or at least a decent chunk) every time you change something to make sure it works in context.
very beautiful and melancholic man!
Nice! Thanks!
Thank you! And thanks for your comment on the previous version as well. Sorry I took it down, I was just struggling to find the right visual for the piece. Quite happy with this one tho! 🤞

@@ramonmedina1974 Thanks man and no worries, there's plenty on the way haha!
que lindo!

This is genius! I love focusing on the individual notes in chords. I think the other sounds really add to it without being overwhelming.
Ayyy thanks man! Mixing is such a headache and I'm suuuuper picky about it but it's great to hear it kinda comes across as intended XD
