      either the underlying rail is uneven, or the battery contacts are too narrow… you could try spreading them if this is your own battery…

    Very nice and informative! When driving up a steep hill (on the road of course), wouls you suggest to use the booster or the pedal assist? :)

    • @ARJlives
      @ARJlives 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the main focus would be on getting a gear where you can efficiently pedal (lower down) so that the engine doesn’t need to do all the work. Then I would use the throttle myself in that situation rather than switching the pedal assist. But that’s also because I would be busy pedaling and holding the steering bar which leaves less attention left to switch around the pedal assist.

    I am considering getting one, but I dont like the idea of not being able to reach the brakes when turning. I assume the ones with handlebars are better for this?

    • @ARJlives
      @ARJlives 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that concern. In my view it’s not an issue: when you turn so hard that you can’t reach both brakes you already have to be slow, otherwise you would tip over. When you do slight turns, like when overtaking someone on the lane, you never lose the brake handles out of reach. However, the regular handle bar still has some advantages: it’s easier to get used and requires less “training”.

    Is it fine to only use the throttle rather than manually switching the power up and down?

    • @looptours8227
      @looptours8227 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - it’s fine and I personally use it like that. Important to help the assist though and not just let it do all the work, especially when accelerating from standing still: always pedal to help the assist. Like that you decrease wear and tear of the chain and gear plates.

    Hello Andreas I’m thinking maybe about a cargo bike for travel in London around 50 miles a day 75km ( I think ) how long does the battery last under sensible riding, and if option of having a spare battery would work , Thanks

    • @looptours8227
      @looptours8227 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey :) first, I would consider whether or not you will want a trike vs. e.g. a long John... what do you transport and how fast should it be? - regarding battery: you can do 75km with a spare battery or possibly on one charge, depending on engine and how much it used. A central pedal engine that is just used to accelerate after red light / stops can last 75 km. If you want to “race” at 18mph through the city you will need a spare. Get in touch at copenhagen@loop-tours.com in case I can assist with choosing the right bike.

    Hej Andreas, I have a question about the electric motor. Do you always have to use the throtthle grip or is the motor automatically when using the Pedals? Thanks, Regina

    • @looptours8227
      @looptours8227 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regina Rampetzreiter, thanks for the question. I often call the manual throttle the “booster”, if you pull it all the way back you can go full acceleration and speed up to 25km (not recommended for beginners). There is also a pedal assist divided into 6 levels. Level 1 is a soft assist until you reach approximately 12 km/h, at level 6, the assist pushes you up to 20km/h or so. - personally I only use the manual assist to accelerate after stops at red lights and to take over other cyclists. Hope that helps :)

    Hej, Andreas... Thanks or the video. Im getting an error code of 4 on my new electronic Christiana bike. Do you know what it means and how I can fix it?

    • @looptours8227
      @looptours8227 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey s, the meaning of the error message depends on the engine you have. I am assuming you have a Promovec rearwheel internal engine with throttle. In that case EO4 would be an error occuring if the throttle is not in position "0"=off when you start. Try setting it to zero (maybe the cables are mounted incorrectly and are "pulling"?), then try turning on again. You could escalate to your dealer, if self-mounted, you could escalate to info@promovec.dk. Hope that helps and that you get to enjoy the unique feeling of freedom of a cargo e-bike soon!
