Server is so pet jug heavy. Ive done Chariot band and Ep to DC mobs 100% exp bonus. Its really hard to exp bst old school. Charm style as bst itself does terrible damage.

I see some people, with a shield and sword above their heads. I have seen LS pearls, bazaar bags, question marks, seeking for party, and the red circle of 'about to disconnect'.... What does that red shield signify?

Evil Weapons, in the tunnel from Jeuno to Qufim, drop a sword that is used for a quest.

on Eden, Promys are hard. Level cap 30. Come with your best gear and weapons and have skills capped. Come with invis/sneak potions (dont have the WHM waste mana doing stuff for you) WHM comes with reraise of some sort. Come with 3 animas, and look up which one works best against which boss. Full team of 6, with another team of 2 War/Shield types to help, using an alliance. Last floor, have the meat shield run in front, to pull aggro, so the team can get in the door. Then the meat shield can leave. (Or if alliance is big enough, can reorganize teams in the lobby) Team jobs, either no BLM, or 2 BLM. 2 BLM will burn down the portals fast. 1 WHM, and 1 back up healer. 1 Ranger is nice, or just someone with sub to pull with arrows. Then other jobs the strongest fighters.

Yes! I'm enjoying my time back in classic feels (or the p99 of ffxi) but I got that dreaded spawn above the map bug and been stuck waiting on a gm to save me for almost 24hrs now. But I'll be patient. Melee whm ftw! Was my 1st back at launch, no reason to mix it up too much this time :P

On the Eden private server, I did these missions in 2020, with everyone capped at level 30. Yes, each floor gets harder. #1, take a group/alliance of 15 or so people. 2 teams of 6 and then an "extra" team of body guards. Basically meat shields. (No trusts in this game, the game capped at 75, capped at 30 for these missions.) Then 2 healer types each team, usually a WHM, then someone with a WHM as sub job. Everyone to bring some sort of reraise potion or ring or whatever. The fight was long and arduous. Usually 10-30 minutes per floor. One epic time, we ran into seven duds in a row. We thought the game was broken, and someone had a dev who was a buddy, and the answer was, "yes, it can happen". The last area, with the mobs so big, the plan was just to RUN to the gate of the final boss. The meat shields would lead the way, and try to grab all the aggro possible There was often a few deaths, but once inside the gate, in the waiting area, we would give the WHM time to reload and try to res anyone who died along the way. Most deaths were fairly close by, and ny mobs would lose interest by then. There would sometimes be a reorganization of the parties, and a review of what to do and what not to do for the boss. Lots of discussion about how to build each team, in general BLM were not popular, But one trip, we had one team with 3 BLM, and outside of the team in the alliance, 3 meat shields. Because the BLM were so strong at taking out the orbs really quick, it was the easiest trip ever. Meat shields made sure all the BLM got to the gate of the boss, then waved bu bye, and the boss went down easy. Most fights were 90 minutes, one time it was 4 hours.

just returned today, played since ps2, still got my add on drive from it. Anyways loads to remember for me bro.

The prices on this game is what drove me off , I tried to come back and said not worth it, to grind like that for an old game , did enjoyed for a week them call it quits, all people do is power level nothing else, sad nostalgia. This game took my life when it come out still have my two accounts.

lol I found a Sliv! I never knew you had a TH-cam channel! This is so odd that you popped up in my recommended right after we reconnected on Discord. (Obviously I’m D.Mills) so yeah, I go by Mills now. I’m not “gear damage” or that PLD who got kicked from a skirmish party for not having spirits within in version 1.0! My XIV name is Daina Millspherr, and XI it’s Millsih. Anyway maybe one day we’ll play XIV or XI together. Although I haven’t played XIV in over 6 months for more than 20 minutes.

The Maat fight is famous for making it difficult the jobs like WHM, BLM, THF. Most strategy guides say to either freeze him and then hit him while he is frozen, with everything you have got. Instant MP restore with potions and such. Then.....run. Run around so he cant hit. OR try to land another freeze type thing, and hit. OR hit with arrows, etc. Maat will have whatever skills you have. If you have some special weapon skill, he has it too. Its like fighting a mirror.

too late to suggest a craft, 2-3 years on you are probably already leveled. In general I think Cooking + Alchemy go together well. For advanced, if you want to go to the top and can afford it, then Goldsmithing and Synergy. Fishing and the gathering skills are kinda separate, even if on same list.

one vendor each city for pick axes. I think the price, depending on your fame in a city, is about $750 per ax. (I can't remember any vendors that sell gravel)
