Fantastic video mate. Not enough love for controllers on TH-cam, so this is really nice to see. Good to see you chart your consoles over your life through your controller collection too. Must say I agree with you about the Saturn controller. Along with the MD 6 button pad, it’s probably my most comfortable and usable controller of all time. However, I do think pound for pound, the evolution of the PS controller is the best controller there is - probably why all the Chinese knock off USB controllers are based on the PS design. 🤪 I also didn’t know you could tie the DC cable at the back of the controller after all these years - thanks for the super intel! 👍

Interesting upload to stumble on. These SF4 FightPads (and by association WWE BrawlPads) have been a current curiosity for me because they've been great for Tekken but the amount of abuse I heap onto the pads means they wear out (particularly the Y button, as I play the Mishima characters and need to hit an EWGF). I have several of these due to this wear causing me to burn through them but I think I finally understand how to alleviate the issue once and for all (it's due to the design of the buttons and how they interact with the rubber domes underneath - the button stems have a hole in the middle and when you smash them really hard they start to cut into the silicone and eventually end up catching the part they cut out of the silicone on the hole, meaning they stick when pressed down; if you cover this hole somehow then the button presses down with an even, flat surface against the domes and no more damage/catching).

The word that you use often in this vid, that I TOTALLY agree with, by the way, is vague. YES INDEED my friend, those PS(any) controllers are vague as can be. I have dozens of broken PlayStation controllers from years past. 😅 I find that my most favorite controllers are always something customized. I built my own Neo-Geo panel because I hated the feel of anything I could buy. I customize most of my Genesis/Mega Drive pads. As far as Nintendo controllers go, I don't think I truly enjoy any of their offerings. The travel of the buttons is always too far, and too much effort to press down. I think you are correct, everything from Japan, that was meant to be sold in Japan, feels more substantial than anything sold in the West. Great video!

Interesting video Daz enjoyed this mate. I got say the most perfect pad for me is the Saturn MK2 controller it's just the greatest pad ever made. They took what was great about the 6 button megadrive but perfected it in every way. Great video mate 👍

Ive got a mushy membrane in my head. 😂 The snes pad is fantastic. Was one of my favourites, up until the mk2 saturn pad. Unfortunately I never experienced the joys of that until I was much older. It's crazy how many official controllers the PC Engine actually had. What happened to the avenue 4 and 5 😅 The dreamcast isn't a good pad at all the thumb stick feels cheap, and the dead is in the wrong place. It's a shame as there is some great ideas, but not well executed. Id have loved to see what a mk2 could have looked like. The xbox pads are great for 3d games. But 2d is impossible with my smoll thumbs😂. It's a shame as the series s/x has and amazing clicks d pad... it's just in the wrong place😂 I'd love to put that dpad, on a ps4 pad. And it would be the ultimate controller ❤ Great watch ✌️

The temptation would definitely be strong to peel off that plastic film Daz 🤣 I just can't see how Sega went from that great Saturn analogue pad and ended up with the DC one, agree it's great in some ways but could have been magnificent with 6 buttons and the Saturn d-pad Not a fan of any PS pad really I have the same Jap Xbox pad, the duke was 💩 you're right I like all later Xbox pads myself My black Saturn gun is a Virtual Cop one, not seen one with green buttons before Saturn pad is definitely the GOAT mate. I have found myself using a few different Sega Saturn derivative controllers, Retrobit put out one recently infact with Hall Effect sticks, that one has been comfortable to use thanks to the floating D-Pad. I am largely disappointed by how bland modern controller design is since none of them attempt to enhance the feel of features, like the buttons, like the analogues, or even the D-Pad itself, and that hurts the general feel of their build quality as well. Although we are blessed by having so many different options, and converters, now. I could never have imagined getting access to so many aftermarket solutions that just work, so it is swings and roundabouts I guess.

Time to get to grips with a tricky subject... Gamepads, favourite choices, criticism ratings and other options. So, what's your favourite favourite? My Top 5 1 - Saturn Mk2 Eu / Mk1 Jpn 2 - Controller'S' MS OG Xbox 3 - Dreamcast Standard Jpn 4 - NeoGeo Kidney Bean 5 - X360 Standard Wireless Just an opinion 😅 To waggle or not to waggle ...that is the question 😂.

Demo Attract Japanese physical disc Tekken 5, on PS2. Progressive video out Mode 525p. Probably the best looking game for PS2? Progressive mode is also available on the EU PAL release. Awesome game.

There’s an alternate attract video in the March 2009 beta build with slightly marshmallow mini textures and an alternate Ecto-1B model that was used in the CGI cutscenes for some reason.

Great stuff mate. Such a legendary game. After playing the arcade original on emulation recently, the PS2 version isn’t quite arcade perfect graphically is it? In many ways it looks slightly closer to the Saturn than the arcade game with its razor sharp visuals? What do you think? 🤔
