I have a variant of the K24 in the form of a 2017 Accord Sport SE. Pretty impressive smoothness and power from a 4 and it burns no oil and is essentially trouble free. I'm only slightly more concerned with the CVT transmission in the long term as I don't have high miles on it yet, but Honda and Toyota make the best CVT's, or that is my understanding of it.

There are quite a few other engines that should be on a list like this. Im a SR20 guy. Thats my favourite but the VR38 should definitely be on this list along with the old L-series Nissan engines and 4g63.

GDI only is terrible. Those are not proving to be good. Gas cleaned the back of the valves and prevented carbon buildup. Gas in GDI engines bypassed the valve and goes directly into the cylinder under extremely high pressure. Don’t go GDI only, Toyota uses an alternating method between GDI and traditional intake method that cleans the valves and gets the efficiency of GDI engine.

I've had 4 Jeep SUVs and 2 of them were Wranglers. Have not had any costly repairs with any of them. My husband has had 2 work vehicles that are Jeep Grand Cherokees and he had them when they were around 200 thousand miles racked up and has only recently had to repair his water pump. The company pays for those repairs. I am looking for a lower mileage 4 door Wrangler that has a backup camera system. Love my Jeeps.
