Inspector Gadget is an animated superhero science fiction comedy series co-created by Andy Heyward, Jean Chalopin and Bruno Bianchi, and was originally syndicated by DIC Audiovisuel and Lexington Broadcast Services Company during its original run. This show belonged in the 80's, but reruns continued airing from the late 80's to the mid 90's. The show revolves around the adventures of a clumsy, dim-witted police officer from Metro City named Inspector Gadget-a cyborg with various bionic gadgets built into his body-who is sent on missions to thwart plans by his nemesis Dr. Claw, the leader of an evil organization known as "M.A.D.", while unknowingly being assisted by his niece Penny and their dog, Brain. The series stars the voice of Don Adams as the titular character, and it first premiered on December 4, 1982, as an exclusive pilot. It is the first cartoon show to be syndicated by DIC, who specifically created the series to help expand into the North American market, and the first animated series to be presented in stereo sound. The program originally ran from 1983 to 1985, broadcasting 86 episodes over two seasons, and remained in syndication into the late 1990s and 2000's. The TV series proved to be a success for DIC, not only launching the Inspector Gadget franchise, including additional animated productions, such as a 2015 sequel series, and two live-action films, but also encouraging the company to produce additional programs such as Heathcliff. It debut in '83, but didn't air in syndication until the series ended in '86, and remainded in syndicated reruns on many independent channels & network stations in the United States by around until '93-'94 before going into cable stations in repeats for additional airings, on Nickelodeon where it would run from 1987, until 1992 throughout the 80s until the early 1990's, eventually returning in 1996 to 2000. Also these same episodes were also aired/telecast rerun on network television when CBS picked up as part of the Saturday-morning cartoons "CBS Kid TV" lineup in 1991 to 1992. Inspector Gadget then moved to The Family Channel (now Freeform) aired from 1992 until 1995 on their Fam TV lineup, and returned to The Family Channel (again, though by the time Gadget returned to that channel, it was mere months away from becoming ABC Family, now Freeform) which aired it in 2001 from September 4 to December 14.

I have only listened to the podcast and was just about to listen to this episode whenever I decided to watch this. I must say, Jeff and Neal (Neil?) look exactly how I thought you two would. Matt and Ken, on the other hand, I imagined you two as each other. You guys have made my long car drives here in New Jersey much better! Keep up the great work!

I usually listen on Spotify but I had to like and subscribe specifically for the Porcupine Tree reference thrown randomly into this episode.
