Hello. Here is the answer to your question: why did you board out by bus, although your aircraft is parked at a gate with a jetway? It's because your aircraft was parked at the international terminal, but you're arriving from AMS, which is in Europe with no police boarder control to proceed. So I guess the bus took you to the Schengen area, where you can just exit without police control. Plus it's quit unusual to fly on a 787 in between Europe, and you aircraft was probably scheduled to operate a next flight long haul international. New airports, like BER have built several departure and arrival floors at all gates, allowing all flights to be local on international, just changing the floor you open the jetway and the corridors. Such terminals now look like tall buildings with many floors, for ground and catering, arrival intl, local and dept intl. Thanks again for share your trips... Pierre.

Hello. Thank you for this video. As usual it gives us interesting information about flying. And above all with a slight touch of humor. To answer your question about boarding mood, I prefer jetway boarding when my flight is full of passengers, but I found stair boarding nice to see the aircraft, the engines, and how big all that is, plus it reminds me the old times. As an airport agent, which I did many years as my job, I found bus boarding nice because it took a lot of time, to just watch if passengers went in the right directions, and not many problems to solve, whereas gate boarding were often too crowded and loud. But many PAX hate bus boarding, especially when the busses are packed, the aircraft parked far away, and not ready to get in it. They always complain to the staff with the same remarks, like "we spend more time in the bus than in flight!". That's life. Anyway, most airlines do their best to minimize the amount of bus or far away boardings, first because it takes more time and so costs money. Thanks again for sharing your trips... Pierre.

oh I was waiting for this. You're kinda crazy to exit and get a visa though. At least it's the one year visa right? I like the old livery on the aircraft but prefer the new logo on the tail. Bus boarding is nice but not during the middle of MidEast summer lol Love the food choices, would probably do a Jeddah layover instead of a Riyadh one in the future.
