Such a fascinating take. I think the idea of using an alter ego to carefully examine yourself from another pov is wildly different than disassociation. One brings you closer to yourself and one brings you further away. I think it’s incredibly powerful you are able to put language to this idea and I hope this video finds the people that need it. Infj T. Quite burnt out. Had to give up my career as a nurse due to back issues, a year later i got divorced, had to get a full-time job and a mortgage and look after my kids who were in university. My mother had dementia and ended up in a nursing home. Major conflict with my alcoholic sister over my mother ended up going no contact with her. My kids moved out now im all alone and working in a school kitchen that is slowly killing me. Im so close (2yrs) to retiring and i feel like i cant make any changes because its too challenging and stressful to change. If i didnt have my strong faith i think id be suicidal.

I dated a narcissist, she put on a good show in the beginning but it wasn't long before she did nothing but put, me, down! I have never, had anyone, treat me or talk to me the way she did, in my entire life! I was nothing but good to this girl too! Over the last couple years I have been finally taking the time to figure myself out and better myself and I found out fairly quickly that I am an INFJ, Virgo, Empath, Demi Sexual, Diagnosed HFA (High Functioning Autism). There is some serious overlap amongst the traits that come with these. I can be "too sensitive" and I take things too personal, I feel things incredibly deeply and intensely, I feel awful if I hurt someone or make them feel bad, and I have mountains of empathy for others. So I was in disbelief by how she was treating me, before I just got used to it anyways. I never thought someone could treat their partner, the person they supposedly care about and "love" the way she treated me. She had a low self esteem and she was very insecure! She put people down thinking it made her look better than them. When I left her, I was all she had left! Every last one of her friends had stopped talking to her, even her longtime childhood best friend, because all she did was put them down too. Truth is, she is just like her narcissistic Mother. She treated me about how her Mom treated her Dad. He left her too, not all that long after I left his daughter. Maybe I showed him the way haha. I will never, let anyone, mistreat me again! I have been single for a couple years now and I don't even care, I am the opposite of codependent! I would leave someone without hesitation if they tried to treat me like she did!

The flow state is the result of integration. Certain traits such as compassion, empathy and sympathy when actively practiced train the mind to “go inside” another. Also, actively training oneself into states of discomfort such as using the opposite hand to write and switching up the daily routine help to erase away the constant need for control that comes with well-defined boundaries. Becoming less resistant towards resistance promotes flow. Speaking from personal experience, so take with a grain of salt.

As an ENTP who can't stop thinking about an INFJ... She does many of the things you speak of towards me, yet I still have zero confidence that the feelings are reciprocal. I've never been more challenged; it feels like I am trying to catch a unicorn.

Wow. You are a very intelligent young person. How old are you? My father died in April, and I have so many wonderful memories of being with him that I keep replaying in my mind. The memories definitely evoke a feeling of longing in me. It’s interesting to think that at the time I was making those memories, I had no idea that they would stay with me forever as my most cherished times in life.
