lol just came across this video and I hope after a year you learned that the other player was definitely wrong about the sword trigger at the end. He was mistaking it for "if it deals combat damage," or something, but the effect happens before combat. Anyway, good try. that other dude needs to be a bit better with comprehension.

This is my favorite mech. If you ever struggle to use LRMs because of target loss, the speed at which this mech fires its missiles is actually scary to the point where they hit before the targeting is lost. You can also fire your missiles while only revealing about 1% of hour mech.

The K2 Catapult was the first mech I ever purchased in MWO all the way back when the game was young. I think it was 2x uac5 + 4 mlasers for the longest times

The PC I play on is all lowest settings (it's the best I can afford at the mo). Game is still playable and fun, but you'll never get out of tier 4. Everyone ALWAYS sees you first. So games where I do really well always involves long ranged weapons eg. gauss and missiles + ecm *edit* Wow! When the map loads, you have a countdown of 80!!! When mine loads, the countdown is usually under 10

Good news with the July patch eliminating the zero under run damage. Now they'll have a minimum of like 5 damage point blank, that'll scale up until 90 meters minimum range, or whatever it was. And range quirks will benefit too

As far as LRM/ML hybrid mechs go, this is one that I ran with some frequency. If you lose a little ammo, and swap to standard mediums, you can carry 6 medium lasers for mid to late game. I support the early fights with missiles and am ready to brawl late with most armor intact. You play both systems at the same time more than I, I should give this a try.

3 LPPC better for the urbie IMO.

Black widow is awesome. Run it with 4x lbx2 and 2x lppc and hang with the sniper snitzels and have at it. Also great behind the push. Range is life.

nascar is fine as long as the top rotation speed is set by the slowest mech

Man I hate the PSR system in this game. You get negative credit for baiting the enemy into your team - even though you increase the likelihood of victory, you actually decrease your chance of the up arrow because it's basically entirely based on damage, and you are giving damage to other players on your team. That flea will get no credit for legging you even though it basically took you out of the game and was an extremely strong play. Even headshots are punished because you would get a lot more points for spreading the damage around on a mech rather than getting a clean kill. It would be better if you just got an up arrow for winning and a down arrow for losing, though I know from talking to people this is an unpopular opinion.

*Maaaaaybe* you can run a light engine on a Flea-7 - you just take 7 small lasers and you don't need more than 10 heat sinks. But I don't think many lights can spare the tonnage for a non-XL engine. Once you're halved in LE you take such a speed debuff you lose a ton of survivability along with that damage, so I don't think you can do much halved as a light, unlike an assault that can pack a medium's worth of arms on 1 side.

It's very boring, but 4 MPLs and ECM have been very viable in this mech

I do this with a two 10LRM build. It can get 400 damage on average easy. Some games I have gotten up to 800. I only did like a 100 ton Light engine. Small lasers since I plan to be doing Long range support. But can take more ammo.

I've tried the AC10s and they are good, but I also like ATMs on this thing. I think they can take advantage of the high hardpoints and jump jets for pop tarting. AC2s almost want to face tank at range, not really good for the light armor mobile huntsman. But I think your positioning is really good and offers a lot to learn from - watching your games I imagine if you'd had one of those weapon systems in the same game you might have done even more damage. And yeah the incentive systems by the pilot skill rating are *slightly* messed up in a bunch of ways in this game, going into the circle is a great example.

I like normal smalls on this thing - more DPS when in range and can't run out of heat! They are kind of OP!

Smaller Engine, more weapons and a chainfiregrouo If you run hot.

good job. Distributing free wifi to the enemy mechs is always a good thing. One thing I try to do is have at least one torso or leg with a jumpjet in it for mobility. I never really got into the NARC beacon because I suck with them.

I prefer Artemis over streaks because streaks target random parts, so the damage is spread out more. Might be why it felt like you weren't doing as much damage.

In regards to the BT novels, it's like any other multi-author series. Quality varies wildly from novel to novel depending on the author and weather or not they were paid enough to care.

Thanks for the fun content, it's nice to see experimental builds and trying out unfamiliar weapons.

The Battletech novels were mostly written 25-30 years ago, and were mostly aimed at teen boys. They were soap opera-ish, with unrealistic plots and crappy writing. For people who grew up before the internet, they were fine. But they didn't age well. Also, many of the earlier ones were more based on the original plot line where there was a lot more societal decay, and less effective large governments. They kind of had an almost Mad Max vibe to them.

Judging by the game queues, heavy and assault 'mechs are significantly more popular, so there's more content for them. Realistic light and medium 'mech content (especially showcasing "off meta" picks like the Cougar) is fresh and different enough to garner attention. Keep up the videos!🤘

This is a very interesting little setup, I have an old cougar I ran with twin ppcs kind of like a slower shadowcat, and the chassis seems to have amazing quirks.

the storm crow isnt a good hill humper or long range sniper its a get up close and brawl, it can be deceiving thinking those torso weapons are high up but they arent. there is a lot of real estate above the cockpit. thats why your torsos are getting shot off, the cockpit is in the middle of the mech.
