I saw Mike on the Honda six at Brands Hatch when I was in my early teens - this bike was on another level to other bikes and left them all standing. If Mike and the Honda turned up, the winner was not in doubt.

I also chatted with Steve Dick thirty years after that race. The pervious round had been in Calgary and Steve and Miguel had a long discussion at a local Calgary bike shop. I have known Steve for 55 years and he can be a very good raconteur. He expressed regret about informing the teenaged Miguel of his valuable knowledge. I can, and did, pay to be a patient listener.

I chatted with the legendary Yvon DuHamel, father of Miguel, before that race. Yvon told me that the cylinder head had never been off of Miguel's Kawasaki. A souped up street bike! Yvon knew people...

I used to go downstairs in the Mouse Hole for my music because the Riverboat was, like, over my head. Gordon Lightfoot was already getting raves at the Riverboat. Went into some hippie houses on the street that were already snobby. Like, we’re cooler than you, what are you doin in here🙄.

It's working title is 'Break on Through,' based on the story he would tell me about attending The Doors first concert in Vancouver, summer of '67 on Davie Street at the Retinal Circus. I am astonished I could find the exact footage of that show, this is a huge gift for me. If possible can you please get in touch with me, I would love to see the full video.

I saw Mike Hailwood on his 250 6cyl Honda at Brands Hatch when he lapped all the other riders in the race. Must have been the 1960s but cannot remember exactly. Happy days.

This bike has always gotten my attention, what an awesome piece of machinery

Nice. I was given a copy of this book by the U.S. Honda distributor in 1964 after I went to work for a new Honda dealer in White Plains, N.Y. and was pivotal in helping that new dealer get his first shipment of new Hondas assembled and serviced for delivery. I was so proud of it. The years took a toll on its condition and it began coming apart. By the 1990, it was pretty ragged and I eventually lost it during a move during hard times. So interesting to see other copies out there that are also appreciated.

I was 17 and at the TT to hear and see it.

Memories....... Brands Hatch, the paddock, lot's of Transit/Bedford vans, then this Iso Griffo Italian car with two beautiful women, driven by Mike cruises in. I was standing next to the Honda six when they fired it up, and it felt like all my bones turned to Jelly. Unforgettable Unforgettable

My parents went to drive around Yorkville to see all the hippies, and be sure the car windows were up, and the doors were locked. Little did they realize the hippie mania would infect their kids. Rock was in the air. And then Yorkville became a dirty drug haven, and then it became a boutique. God knows what it is now.

Saw the replica in person at the US GP a few years back. The first fire up is instantaneous and LOUD, the whole crowd flinched. Good thing they passed out earplugs before hand. Just amazing.
