BSA Bantam D7 Super Exhaust Fitting Failure No. 2
Sadly the pattern exhaust ring wasn't made to the same tolerances as the original and was loose enough to pop over the threads when being tightened. Back on with the old one.

I bought a set of pattern points and they will not fit without modification. Any thoughts?
BSA Bantam D7 Super Exhaust Fitting Failure!
มุมมอง 3.1K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi all, subsequent to recording this video I did managed to get the header pipe and silencer all hooked up using the new pattern pipe but I am not completely happy with it. The silencer is pressing hard against the foot peg and likewise there is a fair bit of pressure on the exhaust stub and the hanging bracket behind the pillion foot pegs. I usually hang exhaust systems rather than force them ...
Jason Vale Super Juice Me - Day 26 - Feeling ok
มุมมอง 1.1K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Short video to give you a flavor of the amount of food we are eating each day. Noting that this is only breakfast, lunch and mid afternoon. This excludes the evening meal and snacks which for us include extra avocados, seeds and nuts, raw bars and bananas. We have on the odd day added a warming soup just to warm us up and lift our spirits.
Jason Vale Super Juice Me - Day 21 - Still suffering with symptoms
มุมมอง 3.5K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Day 21 of the Jason Vale Super Juice Me program and still off work with a rather acute relapse of cfs/me symptoms. I feel much better / cleaner in one way because of all of the raw fruit and veg from the juicing. My skin is clearer, my cravings have gone for carbs and coffee and I feel more relaxed in many ways but the fatigue is really tough and most days so bad I can't think clearly at all.

Still feeling pretty fatigued after supplementing program with extra bananas and avocados and soups. Off work and hoping for a turn around.

Feels like an ME / CFS relapse today. May or may not be related to the juicing as I get these occasionally.

Jason Vale Super Juice Me - Cheeky Extra for Hunger! Day 4
มุมมอง 3119 ปีที่แล้ว
Day 4 of the Jason Vale Super Juice Me Experiment. I have hunger pains today and thought I would try something not quite on the program. This was simply a heaped teaspoon of raw, unheated caco power with hot water just off the boil to make up a 'shot' of chocolate with a 1/4 teaspoon of local honey. This really did satisfy me and made me feel full up!
Jason Vale Super Juice - Video Diary - Taper Week 2 of 2

Second installment of the Jason Vale Super Juice Me program. This one is near the end of the taper down week. Tough week with stress at work and some hunger pains in the afternoon. No hunger in the morning after the breakfast juice though. The juices are very filling and very tasty and easy to make. We have an Omega SSJ 843 slow vertical juicer which is very well made. You have to cut up the ve...

The first installment of my journey through Jason Vale's 28 day Super Juice Me program. This video is a brief introduction during the taper down week before we start juicing with a little history behind why we are doing it.
LE velocette start
มุมมอง 13K15 ปีที่แล้ว
1964 Ex-Metropolitan police L.E. Velocette engine. After much panting I got her running. Left hand cylinder head has a leaking gasket due to a corroded water jacket port. I needed to advance the ignition timing several degrees becuase modern fuel has a much higher octane rating than the fuel around when the engine was design. Trouble with the kick start returning correctly. A common LE velo pro...

get an oil stone and just clean/redress the old points, better than using after-market stuff.

An old post I know, but the bikes were rubbish when they were new. The parts fitted where they touched, and it's hardly rocket science to redrill or file the silencer mounting holes in a different position.

You could also reduce the diameter of the points fixing screw as well as the part of the cam that is interfering.

Golden rule about BSA bantams always use original points, I have 10 sets of original points may not use them all but they are there just in case 1951 Bantam

Obviously wrong type of points. I’m just starting a resto of a 1965 D7 and will be weary when buying pattern part. Thanks for posting the video. Did you get it sorted in the end? Cheers.

Thank you Phillip. You provide some really honest advice and commentary in this video and I can relate to a lot of what you are saying and feel a lot of what you are describing almost as a mirror in this video. Your previous comment answers some of the questions I may have had and it is interesting that you were utilising the juice program from Jason Vale to help you and your partner who also appears to have similar issues to you at the time of the video. I've recently finished a three day, six juices per day fast and felt good benefits from it regarding my symptoms. In late November / early Devember I am doing super juice me for 14 days ordered from the Juice Master website and will be keeping a log then in detail. I've just turned 30 now and have had issues of chronic fatigue like states since contracting Epstein Barr in 2009 and have sinde also had Glandular Fever and countless small viruses, colds and that post-flu state you accurately describe here. I am able to work but largely because I am a researcher and do not need to physically exert too much (I think that helps), although brain fog does hit much. One of my questions though is were you diagnosed with ME/CFS through the mainstream medical system? I have finally got some recognition of chronic fatigue syndrome / ME as a possiblility and it is has taken a long time, but this is not a diagnosis yet. The TATT rhetoric has been an ever present as it seems to have been with you. Determined to recover fully . Many thanks for this video (did you make more as mentioned?). This should really have a lot more views.

Hi Phil did you ever sort this out.

    • @phillipjeans9721
      @phillipjeans9721 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, pretty much. The new exhaust lock ring tolerance on the thread was too lose, so I stuck with the original BSA lock ring. The chrome is pretty tatty but it fits and lock the header pipe on. On the rebuild I decided to keep the original chrome parts (levers, header pipe, tank, headlamp binnacle) because it gave the bike a nice original patina and character. The new paint lifted the whole bike but the weathered chrome keeps it looking original. I'm not a fan of these super perfect restorations where the bike looks like it's popped out of a plastic mould looking better than new.

How are you doing now? I have CFS, it has come on over a few years, I think due to a huge amount of stress and anxiety. Years ago before I was ill my diet was juices, smoothies, salads and some steamed vegetables with a dinner salad. I was so healthy and felt amazing. I am going back to that now and am going to stop pushing through the fatigue so I can heal. Hope you are well.

hi, how did you get on? I stumbled on your video as currently having a really bad relapse and was thinking abut starting the juicing on Monday and maybe now the supplements you are on about.

Hi Frinsby, I'm sorry to hear you are poorly. A lot has changed since January and I have learnt a lot too. The juicing was hard, and after the first week or so we added plant based meals in, which helped massively with the day to day fatigue which we suffered with. Life after the juicing is amazing. It's been a massive learning curve but after cutting out all animal products, we have never felt better. I just feel better and better as time goes on. The only supplement I would consider taking now is the monolaurin which helps fight yeasts, bacteria and viruses so is really good around the cold/flu season and helping beat candida. Also consider vit D if you have long winters and possibly a B12 complex but over and above supps is to eat a rounded plant based diet. This is what I have learned to cure my chronic fatigue is... 1) Eat a plant based diet. some of which must be raw every day. (raw = enzimes which are essential for you to repair your body.) 2) Avoiding refined/processed carbohydrates like sugar, white flour, cakes etc. 3) Foster a positive mental attitude. This can be hard when you are tired beyond measure and have shut yourself away. You must focus on what you can do. To eat well and make yourself better is as important as a positive attitude. 4) Trust in plant based food. I am proof and I have seen friends also get better from eating well too. Juicing can be a part of this if you want and I still juice most days. 5) Watch Forks over Knives. You will not regret it and it will really give you the enthusiasm to eat plants and get a juice in you every day. I wish you well and hope that you use plant based food as the foundations for your complete recovery as I am sure it will be. Get in touch if you have any questions.
