    Is it that there is excessive up/down play in the standars 1UP joystick? or are the miicro switches either too fast or not fast enough acting??

    The game isn't even playable with the factory joystick. Absolute junk!!! Pissed. What year we in? They put this stone age sloth like joystick on it! Total bs.

    This was great. Very helpful. My orientation was different than yours on the up down l r, But that was an easy fix. The biggest thing was joystick was factory set to eight points and the plastic piece over the stick needed to be adjusted to four points. Once we figure that out it was golden.

    The vast majority of classic "golden era" arcade games can be played with one joystick and two buttons, making this an ideal multi-cade type cabinet. Donkey Kong. Popeye. Frogger. Space Invaders. Galaga. Galaxian. Pac-Man. Scramble. Dig Dug. Qix. Jouse. Mario Bros. Qbert. Joust. RallyX. Zaxxon. and many more. (Note that a few, like Berzerk, require 8-way, which won't work with 4-way joystick setups.) If I go to the trouble of modding this cab at all, I will seriously consider going all the way in order to accomodate all of these great, old classics. Thanks for the insights here.

    just got my10-1 40th anniversary partycade ms paceman from QVC and after playing it for 5 minutes, didn't like the factory joy stick. felt like there was too much play and would miss a few turns. Will the Sanway JLF-TP-8yt alone improve play or do I need to get a 4lb spring as well?

    7:01 No.. What you do is take off your Restrictor Plate, then take off the PCB and screw the last screw. Then place the PCB back, and put your Restrictor Plate back on and full set. 😇

      @@cMARVEL360 cherry switches? I looked on DIYretroarcade and only see "switches". Would old wires work or do I need to buy new wires as well?

    • @cMARVEL360
      @cMARVEL360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mgb269 Hey bud! Well... DIY Retro Arcade is an OK Spot..... I'm not gonna knock them... But other places are better... Ok so for the Cherry D44X Microswitches you would get them from Focus Attack and or Paradise Arcade Shop.... They seem to have a literally Unlimited supply of them 😅 The wires you would need for those switches are the regular .187 connectors.. I would also invite you to take a look at my channel and the various vidoes I have Particularly the Wiring video and the IL Eruo Stick guide that I have .. the rest were done before I began to focus on making Content towards trying to help people understand Arcade Controls and how to mod or upgrade them.

    • @mgb269
      @mgb269 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cMARVEL360 so is the sanwa joystick still the one to use? I like the idea that they are plug and play though I've soldered enough stuff in my life. where is your channel?

    • @cMARVEL360
      @cMARVEL360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mgb269 my channel is the account which I'm replying to you with. It's cool that you know how to solder... None of my solutions involve that. You don't have to use Sanwa.... BUT! From my experience and research it seems there are some Gen 1 units that have these sticks that may not be adaptable to use Sanwa Parts... So there may be a point where Sanwa is Better.... BUT! Because of how the PCB works, it isn't plug and play. . . So the two options are you buy a Sanwa.... Buy D44X Microswitches, you buy .187 cables... You watch my video where I show you how to pull out the cables and use your stock wire harness.. Or you buy the Sanwa Individual parts, and D44X Microswitches, you buy .187 cables You watch my video and do the cable swap or splice and you will be good to go. Ok ... Some will tell you some crap about well if you have Sanwa.. why buy the switches?! My answer is because the Sanwa Switches are Soldered on to the PCB, It makes it harder for the ave person to replace the individual switch, to replace the PCB is 12-16 $, SOOO you ditch that shit from the get, use the Cheap in price D44X Microswitches which also so happen to be super High Quality and use the same idea for install as your current wire harness without the need for a Sanwa Adapter. Again ... My channel is my account to which I'm replying to you with. cMARVEL360
