The 1st NASCAR race I saw, on TV, Jeff Gordon won. On his victory lap, the crowd was throwing garbage at his car. Later, I found out this was because he was a Yankee and gay. That's when I started watching every week rooting for Jeff. He ended up with the championship, and I was hooked. Just google for the Jeff Gordon's gay song. It's probably blocked nowadays. Yeah, so these drivers are all characters. If you find one you like then you start rooting for them. After a bit you start hating others. Like, I hate, HATE, Kyle Busch, who BTW deliberately crashed that guy out in the Truck section of your video. Total spoiled brat driver. I'm not so into it now though. Big money has sterilized the personalities and they added soooo much safety. Used to be someone would die once in a while. Not cool but incredible drama.

I recommend Nascar's most epic crashes and also Drag Racing. In Drag Racing the Top Fuel cars do the 1/4 mile at 330 MPH In 4 seconds and the crashes are as crazy as they come.

if you want some fire, check out NHRA top fuel cars, under normal conditions they shoot 8 feet of fire out the exhaust (mostly visible at night), and theyre prone to turning engines into grenades over something as simple as a backfire, kind of a consequence of running the engines up to 11,000 HP

There is another similar NASCAR show from 2022 it’s called Race for the Championship and it’s also really good. It covers a full season. However it’s not on Netflix and kinda hard to find (legally) if you’re outside of the US like I am.

Nascar is such an event if you go to the track. The sound is unlike anything you can imagine, its really Loud, so loud you can FEEL the sound going throught you. If you have never been to a race, just go to one race weekend and sit in the first 30 rows of an oval.

OMG, there's so many better races in NASCAR than what clips you are watching. This is just a highlight of some NASCAR wrecks, not the amazing racing. For example, Kansas earlier this year and pretty much every race that's took place this year has been awesome, not too mention some of the great races the NASCAR Xfinity series has had. Sometimes the Xfinity series races are even better than the Cup series races.

I've been thinking about this a fair bit too. Carlos is in an enviable position. He will have a seat, but we don't know where. For sure, the back marker teams want him, but there are also other drivers in the conversation too. Audi, to me, would be a mistake. You said in your video that Sauber is not competitive, so I see it as a win for Audi but a loss for Sainz as he could be stuck in a backmarker seat. Cars that aren't fast at any point in the weekend are not cars you want to drive unless you're a rookie or veteran looking for a project. Carlos is at his peak, so he needs a car that he can get podiums in, reach Q3 in qualifying, and show his talent like he's done at Renault, McLaren, and Ferrari. To me, it's either Mercedes, Williams, or Haas (Q3 capable is still good). It's too risky to go back to Alpine, or commit to Audi just because they're making empty promises and throwing heaps of cash around. They have nothing to offer in reality. The current car doesn't score points or reach Q3. Then let's say that Mercedes are committed to Antonelli. Fine. Williams are a solid option. If Albon can qualify and race well with it, then so can Carlos. Haas might seem bad, but Hulk got a big deal with Audi from driving a Haas, so Carlos could get a competitive deal off the back of an impressive tenure at Haas. A handful of points and some eyebrow-raising qually results would put him in the conversation again. So probably either Williams or Haas. And Alpine seems like a nightmare situation for anyone involved. I'd pick Audi over Alpine just for the working environment, but who knows. Maybe it sucks at Sauber too.

the two saves by the #18 M&Ms car were at almost 200 mph which is about 320 kph on slick tires. They only have treaded tires in the rain.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with an obsession with any kind of racing.

You should check out the BTCC british touring car championship, them guys are hugely talented and a little bit mental at the same time, a contact sport very much like NASCAR, makes for great racing

Nascar has always been a bit of organized chaos due to its origins of being started by moonshine runners.

9:10 NASCAR has a set number of laps for each race. They take the length of the track and the race distance (400 miles, 500 miles, etc) to determine how many laps they have to race. But those who get lapped (or crash or have engine issues and go to the garage) their race finishes when the last car on the lead lap crosses the finish line. They do this because each lap is a point towards the standings, so if they waited for every car to finish all the laps then they'd be there for a lot more hours.

3:12 The engines used in NASCAR are big block V8 engines. Each engine is 358ci (Cubic Inches (which is 5.9L)) displacement and in 2012 they moved away from using carburetors to using EFI instead. The engines use headers instead of exhaust manifolds like you would see on commercial car and truck engines, and also forgo using catalytic converters or mufflers. This results in very loud engine noises and the distinct sound you hear vs the sound the smaller displacement V6s that F1 uses.

6:22 The reason why you get big pileups in NASCAR and not F1 racing is because of how they race. F1 they drive in long lines of cars because most of their tracks are super narrow. Even when they go drive the Indy 500 at the Indianapolis Brickyard track, which is very wide, they still stay single file, and they're not passing each other. NASCAR is in large packs where they are 2 or 3 cars wide, sometimes 4 cars wide, and bumper to bumper for drafting purposes. Which means that NASCAR ends up being like driving in a 200mph parking lot. And everyone is looking to pass the guy in front of them. All. The. Time. I forget his name, but a guy moved to NASCAR from F1 and said in an interview that there is more passing in one NASCAR race that there is in an entire season of F1 racing. All that moving around all the time in large tightly packed groups of cars means that it is much easier for an accident to take out lots of cars rather than just two or three cars.
