    Our sales were down 30% 1st quarter this year but rebounded in the second and looks to be okay for the next few months. DTF is most likely to blame as it is everywhere now, and bigger shops are getting hit the hardest here in Downtown Los Angeles. Cheers!

    • @ministryofshirts
      @ministryofshirts ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for your question. There are a few things you can do to make this work properly. Reduce the ink some more so it is less sticky. Increase the screen mesh count to at least a 77T which will produce a finer print with less ink to connect to the other screens. You can also flash the garment between the top colours too. Wet on Wet takes a bit of practice but if you are using low mesh count screens and standard thickness of inks then it will build up too much on the underside of the other screens. With good wet on wet you will always have build up on the other screens which is fine and should get out of control. Lastly, always choose to put the colours in order of the size of each part of the print. Start with the smaller ones and build up to the larger ones as you progress through the print.

    • @LartiZen
      @LartiZen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ministryofshirts Thank you very much for your comments. Indeed, I used a 54 T mesh and I'm not sure I printed from the smallest design element to the largest :) I will be careful next time I test 3 or 4 colors. It's very kind of you to take the time to answer me. See you soon.

      Not on an auto. the pressure that an auto-provides would most likely just bend the squeegee. Also even if you did the pressure would still cause the screen to connect to the zipper and would eventually pop the screen. Autos are just not as sensitive as a manual.

    I was just curious why you did not go with the phneumatic lock where you just the flip the switch? Screen moves less when the both of the clamp holders are tightened at once instead of locking one side at a time doesn't it? When I try to move the screens with the micro, it takes really long time, especially with the back clamp manual. I am thinking of getting the side clamp for my antec legend and in the future i might get thunder press with the side clamp with the pneumatic option or just the side clamp

    • @ministryofshirts

      ah right I understand you now. Yes they no longer use the locking knobs this is correct. The micro adjustments tends to be tight enough when the arms are clamped down. I believe the issue you that you are having is not related to not having the locking knobs on the rego as the screens are moving slightly when you lock in the screen clamps. You should look at the screen clamp mounts and check you have them tightened up, check that the holders are 100% level, and that the clamps themselves are not adjusted too tightly only the screen. You want them to be able to hold the screen well but not to put pressure on the screen such that it moves.@@wagyu_killer

  • @GrafXnj
    @GrafXnj ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome video, almost 4 years of not truly liking my volt micro reg system and I think you nailed it in 1 video. I use both 20 x 24 & 23 x 31 inch screens on my volt as I run a lot of youth items and because I can with the side arms. I always find my micros moving left or right in an awkward line when I turn the micro knobs, and that’s because I always realized that my side frame holders are not squared to the pallets, and I once tried measuring out and marking the bars that the arms slide on, but that didn’t help because I didn’t have an actual frame in the arm to find the perfect and parallel centers. If that sounds confusing well that’s probably why it didn’t work. Using a template “lines” screen for both sizes is going to make a huge difference when I’m going back and forth between screen sizes. Also I found myself never putting the screen in the micro side arm completely until it couldn’t go anymore then locking down the screen and that is because I never had my side holder parallel to a true center point. I think this video is going to make a huge impact in my shop and I can already see in my head a lot fewer micro reg headaches. Thanks

    Hey I know this is the Gilden 18500. But there are so many like heavy blend and other 18500s. What material is the Gilden 18500?

      Hey David, thanks for the question. Most (if not all) hoodies are a mix of Polyester and Cotton. You can get 100% Cotton ones but they are rare. The main question on quality is about the mix between the cotton poly. In the case of the Gildan 18500 it is 50/50 equal parts. Make for a warm hoodie but not always the smoothest print because of the poly content. Also tends to pill a little more than others with a higher cotton content like the AS Colour 5101 which is 80/20. The Gildan 18500 is a very good entry level hoodie for people balancing quality with cost.
