Es 335 Gibson CS Nashville Replacing Pickups to Virgil Arlo and the RS-Guitar works harness
มุมมอง 2K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a Gibson Es-335 CS 63 block reissue Nashville guitar that came with factory pickups and Harness. The guitar did not sound as it should sound for a $6000 price tag, She sounded muffled and chocked, the pickups Burstbockers 1 & 2 sounded to compressed and aggressive to me didn't have the dynamics and bloom that you expect form the original PAF's the Harness does not respond when lowering ...

Yeah!!!!
Your fat 50s sounded better
Thise sound amazing! What are you playing through to get that tone? Pedal?
What’s the average pickup output for N, M & B ?? Building an early Pre CBS Strat and I’m digging these. Cheers 🤘🏼
🥰🎸✨ 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
These pu's sound fantastic! I should put it better: You sir sound fantastic!
Sounds nice clean, but fat 50s sound very bassy/boomy when overdriven, unfortunately. This video just confirms it, as well as my own experience.
Somehow the guitar tone comes across as very muffled and dull. The inspired smile on the player's face reveals that this isn't the case at all, in the room. Limits of the recording gear....?
Mr. Pas, you're an excellent guitar and, obviously, Strat player! Thanks also for the demo of these pickups, they do sound great :).
I feel like this guy likes marshall amps... just an intuition
Are fender fat 50s and custom shop fat 50s different?
No, they are the same .
Just bought a pickguard with Josefina Campos fat 50s in the Neck and Bridge and a Custom Shop Fat 50 in the middle, can't wait to install them
Great demo! Thanks, rebbeche!
Nothing like a good Fender Start. I actually like them better than Fender Strats.
Pick up high??
Fucks sake if I spent 2 and a half grand on a Gibson I don't think I'd change anything
What amp are you playing thru?
You can see the logo in the very bottom right corner, so I looked it up - a Yamaha G50-112II Solid State guitar amp, from the 1980's.
Are these pickups worth $1500?
That’s for u to decide if u want to spend this amount on pickups. I didn’t pay that amount I bought them before he stoped making them. They really sound amazing, but u can find great affordable ones like wizz, throwbacks, Stephen design ( amazing pickups one of my favourite but long wait time). Hope that helps.
@@rebbeche for new pickups i use throbak, really nice sounding
you have too much money
Trying to copy your lick between :12 and :17 ...dont know that lick...but I like it...excellent playing overall. How would you compare these pickups to Texas Specials??? Just curious.
i am searching for replacement pikcups on my 70s strat,. Will these get close to a Jimi Hendrix tone with fuzz? can they handle the gain? i play 80% of times on the neck pickup
I ordered fat 50's set for my American Strat. Great tone!
What amp is he using?
Yoooooooo,!!!!!,!! I came to hear som pickups and got blown away by the sound coming from your fingers Awesome playing I just scored some of these pickups and trying to decide which guitar to put them. I think my G&l legacy Seems some how fitting
Have them in all my strats
Gibson guitars are great but I have changed out every one's electronics and pickups
Then they're not "great" then are they!?
@@DanNic88 I used to buy and sell a bunch of guitars and have a high end place near me. Gibsons w/ the 57 pus are good, otherwise I always change them out. QC for wood isn't perfect either. You have to look for lp, tele, whatever to make sure they are tonally good by playing them without an amp. Usually the thicker the neck the better the tone but you cannot take dead wood and make it ring. Anderson, Suhr, LSL, PRS are better w/ QC but some guitars still stand out. Those and other guitarmakers are wonderful in their own right but if you want a gibson lp then nothing else will do unless it is an old gibson lp or a gil Yaron lp. Great yes. Some are. Exquisite. Few are. Put some sheptones, wolftones, klopmans or ron ellis's into a good one with some 50's wiring and you are set. I agree with your sentiment but I personally have reconciled myself with this fact. (I would be happy buying them without any electronics at all.) Then again some are crap; just dead wood.
I 'd like to know if the sound we are listening it's real pickups sound clean or you use a lot pedal?
well it looks like he has a green cord going into the amp and a black cord into the guitar so he must have something in-between, Who knows? i hate when we can't get answers.
sGreat demo I also put the same Virgil arlo 59 humbuckers in my Custom shop Gibson Les Paul R9 reissue which already has vintage 50 wiring bummble bee capicitors, Gibson Custom buckers sounded great no doubt about it no run of the mill burstbuckers pro or 57, so when I changed to Virgil Arlo like yourself I was blown away with the clarity definition in every note you play handles gain notes seem to bloom I’ve never heard anything likI saw hese makes you want to keep playing what more can 🗣‼️🎸🗣🇮🇪
vkelly1975 I’ve been using Doyle’s coils lately . Considering the virgils for a 345 I just got but damn if those Doyle’s coils aren’t the closest thing to real I’ve come across yet
I love these fat 50s! can wait to install mine
Terrible
Most people would never be able to tell the difference between these and Texas specials!
agreed.
Hadenuf p having owned both, the fat 50s get you closer to traditional fender glassy tonality
Did you change any potensio or other electronics ? Mine is made in mexico fender strat. Plan to have this mojotone, do you think I need to change any electronics ? Thanks.
Hi Yoseph RA These pickups came pre wired with pickguard from mojotone they also sell them like this. I highly recommend changing the pots because what Fender does is cut cost to make more profit even on there American brands. you can check RS Guitarworks on line they sell kits that are high quality and will Make you guitar sound high end, Thanks 🙏
Thank you Sir
Curious what other stratocaster pickups you have compared these against and how you feel about these versus the others?
You can check this link out and hear the different comparisons and read the comments th-cam.com/video/NyD_pziaXk4/w-d-xo.html I really like these pickups they have a unique sound to them and mojotone really invested a lot in make them. it really depends on your personal preference when I heard them They attracted me instantly. Hope this help.
Thoughts on these vs the mojotone 59's?
It really depends on your guitar when it comes to pickups some guitars are bright some are darker, i find the mojotones brighter, a little more cleaner and balanced between the pickups they are more dynamic and sensitive to your playing and they have that sizzle on the top end. The fat 50’s are warmer and lush I do miss a bit on the mid and top they are less sensitive. Again all in the guitar u use, Ash body brighter Alder body more balanced, hope that helps.
@@rebbeche Thank you brother for taking the time to answer. So glad I found your demos. Both of these sets were on my list! Great playing BTW!
Great tone and playing
Thanks a lot!
