I try this today on a Range Rover Sport 2010, and couldn't do it via OBD. Instrument cluster does not come ON when the start/stop switch is pressed so I removed the RFA which is Unsecured. The MCU on it is MC9S12XET256, mask 2M53J. I read both Flash & Eeprom files. When I try to make a key I get an error that "this file is incompatible with this unit" Job not done!!!

What kind of key programming device you have done AKL ?

Some help here please. 2007 mercedes SL550 push to start on shifter, added a proximity everything works except the push start, I have to insert key. I'm using autel im608 and an aftermarket proximity key, now someone said there is a separate step that has to be done, I called autel and no help. I did select smart key when programming. Original key works fine a tried 4 different proximity key and no luck so I have one open space and 5 working keys. Any help here. Thank you.

So I'm also doing this procedure with a im608 going through same steps. On a locked MCU using secure read and write. In your experience have you have success with 2016-2018+ using generic after market reflashed oem remotes? Or are you having to buy oem non aftermarket for this to successfully work. Because the issue im having is after successfully reading and writing secured and its working all great. When I get back to the car and hold key to the transceiver ring. The dark says wrong fob. But when I check the mcu it has the correct key id added under slot 3.
