@netincomeprofits great eyes! Yes the Leathal Protector copies were in horrible shape. Like they'd been stacked together and got wet. It was sad. That said, there definitely comics that were missed I'm sure.

I appreciate you coming through and I appreciate the thoughtful comment. I'd argue you're right in a sense that gender roles have been fairly the same across time and place. But masculinity, and what defines being a man has changed. Spartans used to have lover boys for example, but that was part of their masculinity, someone to workout with and blow off steam after. It was common place, where as now, that'd be 'pretty gay' and not very masculine in the traditional sense. Imagine Jon Wayne shooting a movie then going back to his trailer and blowing off steam with Steve from camera crew 4. He wouldn't have been seen as very masculine at the time if he engaged in this. Again, I think you're right about gender roles across time, but masculinity is a little different. As far as Superman goes I'd say he still keeps his core traits from his origins but has expanded upon them. No longer just for America but for a better world, things like that.

I get the same reaction from alot of people often too that superman does but I'm very much not him he wasn't my hero growing up no none was because I not him... I doubt anyone could be him given you don't have the constant dread that if you get out of bed to hard you'll send the Earth into the sun... But I am a hero of his caliber like Batman, Wonder Woman, Captin America, Spider Man, Luke Skywalker, Mario and my favoite Ruby Rose are... Becuase I want to help people and better myself. Which the world does have Superman this video was about him after all... So it's ok to just be a hero inspeared by him like all Super Heros have been.

I haven't read that one yet. I've always known Jubilee to be a female. But if she wants to think she's a man, that's fine, I guess. I'm very green on the xmen so I don't have any history here. But I'll say I don't love when character changes are made out of the blue that have no . For example: Blackcat having a gf, cool, on brand. Ironman having a boyfriend, ummm excuse me??? I don't know enough about the Jubilee character to really know. If it's on brand, great, if it's out of left field yikes. And to my understanding xmen have a pretty diverse cast as is. At minimum as long as the writing for that run is good, making minor tweaks to characters history isn't the worst thing.

Daredevil run was good. Ended weak

Brainiac Queen is interesting for sure. As a newer comic reader I'm ok with Amanda Waller, I haven't been around for a huge Waller arch just yet. But I can see how you feel.

Failsafe is awful. A robot Batman. Another evil Batman. Zzzz. Queen Brainic have no interest. Just a woman version

@@2tastey Been following the production of Unico: Awakening since the Kickstarter project was announced April 2022. Apparently the manga's Kickstarter campaign was so successful that it caught the attention of Scholastic who not only announced multiple volumes, but a Handbook to further expand the manga's universe and world building. It's a huge passion project between Sattin and Gurihiru and I'm so happy Tezuka's Unico is getting a major reintroduction.

@@nyanpirethecat2257 that's really cool. I had no idea about the backstory for this book. Good on Scholastics though!

@@2tastey One last bit of information for Unico: Awakening. Prior to the Kickstarter's launch, Samuel Sattin explained in interviews (mainly in podcasts) that he first pitched a manga reboot of Unico sometime in 2019 or 2021 and had to take a private plane/trip to Japan since the country was closed to foreigner due to COVID concerns at the time. By pure luck, he was able to visit Tezuka Productions (Japanese company dedicated to Tezuka's works and characters) with the folks instantly greenlighting his pitch since they loved his vision. He personally chosen Gurihiru to works on the artwork and character designs since they had the perfect "Western-Japanese artstyle" like Osamu Tezuka's art style. The Japanese art duo almost declined the offer since they felt overwhelmed working on a Tezuka project but was eventually won over. The American fansite "My Unico Fans" has tons of information dedicated to Unico and constantly keeps track on the manga's journey.
