That stocking is super cuuute

I have for the most part enjoyed this yarn but noticed inconsistency in the different skeins, requiring different tension. Definitely a practice makes perfect project

“Tension Testing Yarn” is genius 😂

It’s a no for me…no time to be testing tension…doing and undoing.😂 And I would prefer to choose my own colors and pattern and yarn. But maybe for someone newer to granny squares, but even then tension would be a pain for a newer crocheter.

I absolutely, 100% agree with you! That's why I've always been a "slow crocheter ", I crochet with love, love for my project and love for the person receiving it❤

I don't have a lot of tapestry needles, but mine are metal so I can easily keep them on a magnet bracelet (it's meant for seamstresses, but works well enough for that). Stitch markers, though? Buy them in bundles, like, at least five 200 packets of these suckers. Also, the hooks... I definitely have more than I need. I have one fancies soft grip set and cheaper plastic grip set that I use interchangeably depending on the mood or which is closer; and I also have a smaller specialty set with 6 hook sizes that was a special edition from my favourite brand of hooks made for amigurimi (they're all aluminium as opposed to steel, like their main line) and they have such adorable print on the grip (though the print might come off with use, so I use them sparingly). Plus I also have a set of 3 knooks, which are a type of crochet hook made for doing knitting stitches that I can also use for Tunisian crochet (which is great cause interchangeable tunisian crochet hooks are EXPENSIVE here and there's no metal ones). I only don't have more hooks cause they're expensive. That also reminds me I need to get more measuring tape. I lost my cute one and I'm almost always loosing the other one.

But how many chains do you start with? No one is including this First Step! .... Say I need 11 stitches in 4 inches , and my beginning chain is too short for 11 stitches.... Shouldn't my beginning chain be at least 4 inches long ??

You are very good at explaining your work. I have been crocheting for 60 years now and I am learning new stuff all the time. the way you close the hole in the centre is great I was always taught to sew it in this thread but your way is much neater. This was an easy video to follow. I have the pattern as well but liked this better. I used four hand dyed colors in all wool. pink, purple, navy and camel. All subdued colors. I also blocked mine to really show off the open work and make the size bigger. It also took out and rough spots in my single crochet finish. I enjoy your patterns.

Is there a way to prevent the curl at the bottom? Would a slip stitch ribbing change that?

If I use a 6 hook, I run out of yarn color, if I use a 5 same thing, with a 4 hook, I have yarn left over. I think I would rather weave in ends. Thank you for the tutorial. ❤️🧶🙏
