why are their so many glock players 😭? 2 glock is already overkill. 1 is enough
Im learning this on class
Why are there so many battery techs - can someone explain this?
You have more time to work specifically with individual players and I know not all techs are available all season, some kind of do just a area thing. I would imagine most got to finals weekend though so it seems like a lot
@@guywholikesheelies3231 Thank you for the new perspective.
It's hard to believe how long the sound takes to get to the mic. Whoa.
In the first couple minutes of the video, why is his count off faster than what they play?
Not normally an SCV fan….but I’m pretty sure those snare features are the reason they won drums. 9:27 just hits so nicely.
They were a complete section from front to battery. That is why they won. I saw them at their recording session for Rennick Drums on the Wednesday of finals week and their wasn't any doubt. I have taken part in that recording session for Paul since he was at Regiment and this group didn't have any weakness that would have detoured them from winning the Sanford trophy this year. Cheers, Ondraus Cissell 1984 Phantom Regiment Alumni
these might be the best rimshots I've ever heard from a drumline. just phenomenal sound quality
Regular randos don't know how hard it is to do this.
I agree
I wish they did DCI in general deserves more attention
I was here for semis and finals, and hearing these guys in person is something else. They have the best sound quality year after year. Paul rennick is the best battery head/arranger in DCI history in my opinion. 5 Sanfords in SCVs last 6 years of competition? Undeniable 💯
Do you have anymore videos of people in the lot
amazing energy!
GOAT quadline, seriously
its crazy how much this sounds like phantoms early 2000s drumline beautiful.
There’s such a thing as a “clean” drumline, but Santa Clara Vanguard takes it to a whole new level EVERY YEAR…. No wonder they named the best drum trophy the Fred Sanford award…🎤🔥🥁✌️
really nice dynamics at :48
Straight fire!
I made a comment about left hand snare fuzz…. I take it back! Plus…. Bass splits. Fire!!!
I thought Boston was gonna take it…..SCV!
Did Rennick inject a substance into the left hands of the snares? Sick!
SCV "takes a year off". I don't get this statement at all, yet I keep seeing it. Aren't almost all of those members in UNT? Where Rennick teaches? Playing year round under him? There is no year off ... ever.
Who ran UNT 1988-95?
Float was at Nevada…
What is there to get? SCV didn't field a corps in 2023. What these drummers were doing at the time has nothing to do with that specific fact.
@@jimbritt1471Paul
Even if your statement made any sense, there is the entire rest of the corps?
What a dynasty! (no pun untended) SCV takes a year off and returns to win the Sanford Award once again. And that's a difficult task when the corps placed 6th. Congratulations to Paul, Sandi and all of the percussion staff and students. You were missed and we're glad you're back.
🐐
9:27 was so clean during semis and finals.
An arc, with no met, and zero cheerleading from the staff when parts get fast. Just work needing to be done so it gets done. Grown 🤘🏿
I'll admit I do enjoy some hype lots but a lot of it feels over done nowadays
Amen, love the bit about cheerleading - something I hate to see!
I miss those days
I did this in 3rd grade
All these kids looks like babies and then you have that curly haired and that black kid that just completely stand out
They performed so well
What pad can be pitch changed like that?? Or is it the editing software, if so what is it?
I used different size mallets. They each sounded deeper as the mallet head size increased. The pitch of the bass drums overlayed with the pad sound is probably helping with that. I used VDL & Sibelius for the soundfile and Final Cut Pro for video editing and Logic Pro for audio editing.
@@ryanssaul You add a bass drum sound over the pad right?
Brilliant....that isn't easy, but they made it look like it was!
God dam I did carol of the bells too.. it wasn’t to hot
And props to the music teacher for organizing the parts for each child to play. This is a gift!!!❤️❤️❤️🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Beautiful!!! Talented amazing kids!❤🔥🔥🔥
Percussion has this easy while woodwinds and brass are just dying on the amount of repeats and constant melody
Cool music class we are doing carol if the bells with bucket drumming and piano
I need help I don't know if there's a snare drum with Jingle Bells😢😢
Dude they did AMAZING on hitting all those notes correctly (To people who aren't percussionist, it takes plenty of practice hit all of the notes correctly, and for 6th graders it's phenomenal)
Really?

🫶❤️🔥❤️🔥
Great job 👏🏼🎉💯
A few things I don’t think I’ve ever just seen a only bell concert and also the kid carrying sticks in his pockets🤣
They are playing the song better than me and I’m in 7th who has been practicing this for a few months now 😅
I'M IN 6TH GRADE BUT DON'T LEARN THIS INSTEAD VIOLIN
Bruh that one kid 💀
Wow 😮
THATS 6TH GRADE?!?!?! they play pretty good! I use to know how to play this song on piano when i was in 7th grade but they are a grade under a olay WAY better than i did
These are the most talented 6th graders ive ever seen. Far cry from the ones i see lmaooo
They are good for a 6th grade band, and in general, Trust me Ive been in 6th grade bands and seen the other 6th grade bands from when I was in jazz band
Agreeable.
Honestly, this would be pretty good for a high school group. They're _together_

GREAT!!
They got talent I'll tell you what
We are playing a eprcussion ensemble of Carol of the bells in 7th right now. Just want to say dont give up on percussion
This is the best Christmas of all time, as a former 6th grader myself, this is extremely inpresssive
@CoasterGuy2500 I didn't do band in sixth grade, we didn't have the option
@CoasterGuy2500 lmao, my middle school is a D school, idk what that means, but I would be happy if we even had 3 percussionists in the band, bro. Every concert I've performed for this school has had atleast 1 percussionist who was thrown in band and had no idea how to play but still went to the concert.
@The-Bible-IS-our-salvationaverage? I did this in 4th grade. I was on soprano. Everyone was impressed by our club and every song we did.
@@lxviuslol what
I only hear ding fries are done😢 damn you family guy
